It's not the worst idea let's take last years ladder wild card games bulldogs v port kangaroos v saints I think bulldogs would have won and saints were in form so most likely would have replaced kangaroos who were cooked, but top 6 get weekend off so suddenly finishing top 4 becomes relevant again and it would have made it extremely hard for bulldogs to win the flag if that happened

It would just be our luck next year to finish 7th and get knocked out by 10th before finals
