PODCAST: Rd 20 vs Richmond
Wow. What a forward line we have put together on the fly. 6 goals Harrison Petty take a bow. 4 goals each to Rooey and the incredible Melk. 14 goals between them. I had memories of Neita and Gazza with Petty and JVR with the 10 goals between them. Is this THE forward line. Fritsch return pending of course.

Thoughts on our defence against the Crows. I thought we were really poor. Not just in the last quarter allowing 7 goals but had they kicked straighter during the game they most likely would have beaten us. That’s 2 weeks in a row we have conceded nearly 100 points. 104 against the Lions and 93 against the Crows. Are you guys worried about this trend?

Moving Trac forward worked this week. Helped that he kicked two opportunistic goals and was a dead eye for the two set shots. But are we robbing Peter to pay Paul and losing his grunt in the midfield? Do you have any stats on his percentage of time in the midfield and forward line? Until we can clone him what do you guys think is our best use of Trac?

PODCAST: Rd 15 vs Geelong
Question for @binman You noted in the Mid Season review, which was an excellent podcast by the way, that we were low down the AFL rankings for Clearance and Stoppages, 9th & 16th respectively. You mentioned that we have a focus more on winning the ball on turnovers and that’s where we generated most of our scoring from. That’s fine I get that but we also have some midfield bulls why can’t we still be winning from stoppages? I presume we’re not trying to lose the stoppage to generate that turnover. Why can’t we win the ball at stoppages and be a great turnover team too, win the turnovers not turn the ball over. It just baffles me that with the talent that we have in the guts, All Australian recipients, coaches awards leaders and predicted Brownlow contenders that we aren’t winning the pill more often. Granted we won the stoppages against the Cats.

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs Geelong
It's very refreshing to hear all the confidence in this thread and for a game against Geelong in Geelong. People keep saying they're undermanned but the only line they're undermanned in is the midfield. Sure that could be enough but they have 2 Coleman medalists and a talented backline. They will also no doubt have the umpires on their side egged on my their supporters.

PODCAST: Rd 13 vs Collingwood
Do we need to have a chat about Pickett's form of late? In the past 4 weeks he has had 29 possessions; 6, 11, 6 & 6. With the exception of 2 exceptional goals in the Freo and Carlton game he has not shown the brilliance we know he can produce. Having said that he is still averaging a goal a game over this 4 week period with 1, 2, 1 & 0 goals. He has also been inaccurate during this time missing some easy set shots at crucial times. During this period he is averaging 3 tackles a game. In addition as someone mentioned on last week's podcast he has a penchant for attempting the elusive speccy at the cost of being at the fall of the ball. I'm by no means calling for him to be dropped but he certainly needs to lift his output. I would love for him to spend more time in the middle, minutes here and here, to get into the game.

Loving the Podcast fellas. Love the balance between the 3 of you. Always insightful and your analysis is always backed up by the stats. Would love to get your insights into our significant drop in accuracy over the past few rounds. I don't have the stats in front of me but I have no doubt you guys will and perhaps shed some light on the cause. Is it loading, fatigue or just plain reverting to old ways and bad habits? Keep up the great work.

Further to this; What can we take away from the first 9 games of the season considering who we've played and who we've lost to? The only Top 8 team we have beaten is the Western Bulldogs and that was in the first game of the season when the Bulldogs didn't have their act together. We lost to Brisbane currently 3rd and Essendon currently 10th when the Bombers were up and about. We've also beaten 11th, 13th, 16th, 17th & 18th. Obviously the real test comes in the next 5 to 6 weeks when we play 4th, 12th, 9th, 1st and 7th.

Loving the question and answer format of the podcast this season. Kudos to all involved. I'm starting to get the same annoying jibes from workmates that like last year we simply haven't beaten anyone yet and have lost games to our contenders. Are you worried about anything you've seen from the side. Does our game stack up against other teams particularly those of Collingwood and Geelong who look like the sides to beat? Or will we not know until Kings Bday and our annual fun trip down the freeway to Kardinia Park.

Farewell Luke Jackson
Mockingly (probably unintentionally because I doubt he thought about how it would look) in a Dockers jumper. Could have posted any number of photos of him with the Premiership cup when he thanked the club with his one line. I thank him for his time but do not wish him well. He is now the enemy and whilst I will not boo him I do hope he gets roughed up a bit and that he earns every dollar he gets.

Do the Dees have the pieces to make another premiership tilt?
Absolutely we do however we need a bit of luck and manage injuries a little bit better. A tweak in the game plan so as not to be too predictable will go a long way to breaking the 1 year premiership drought.

Farewell Sam Weideman
Rumour has it he dropped that ball.

Farewell Brodie Grundy
Blind Freddy could tell you we will not be trading Weid if the Grundy deal can't get done. The only way the Weid deal get done beforehand is if it is part of the Grundy trade or Collingwood gives us an undertaking that the pick we get for Weid will be acceptable as part of the trade for Grundy. However given the likely low pick I doubt that will be the case. If the Grundy deal is dead then Weid will be the backup ruck. God help Max Gawn body if that is the case.

Farewell Luke Jackson
We won't be trading Weid unless Grundy is secured.

PODCAST: Season Review & Trade Wrap
Which 2s players (with the exception of JVR) do you think will have an immediate impact in the seniors next season? Who do you think will be a regular by the end of the year?
