  1. You seriously think that's what the FD thought and said to him? You're a harsh critic sometimes Dazzle. Maybe they just replaced him with another player that is deemed better. After all, they have both May and Lever to choose from this week. More likely, I'd say Goodwin took him aside and suggested he go back to Casey, work on his game and confidence and push for re-selection over the next month.
  2. And there it is, Godwin's law
  3. Trade her now!
  4. I posted this pic in a January training report. Tennis balls are used in training auskick footballers to have careful ball drop (not what you might think, Uncle...). If it lands 5mm from the sweet spot on the foot it will go sideways. It's an approach also used in training teens and adults. Whilst most agree kicking techniques are established by about 15, they can still improve at professional level, otherwise they wouldn't do it at training. Iirc, his ball drop was low and careful with the tennis ball. Go figure!
  5. Junction Oval was top 3 apparently
  6. Instantly the thread halved in size?
  7. "This comment doesn’t instil confidence to be frank. It may sound harsh but this is a brutal game which doesn’t care much for sensitive souls... Success is not going to ‘just happen’ for him as we can plainly see." So I guess calling him a "sensitive soul" was a compliment then. I've not read one positive comment about Weid from you on this thread. That's called pedalling a negative narrative. This obsession with trading for a key forward and bagging our current ones is repetitive and tiresome. Repeating something over and over doesn't make it "perfectly valid".
  8. No thank you. He's lost it.
  9. You are making those up, it's not even an opinion, it's just plain made up. The irony is not lost that Weid is openly discussing online trolls and some on here are calling him names and pedalling negative discussion about his commitment to the club. I think this is the polite verion of what he thinks: "I think there’s a lot of passion coming out in their comments and I don’t think they understand the power it can have on the players and how much effect it can have,” Weideman said. “We don’t go searching for these sorts of comments but sometimes they’re quite direct and unavoidable."
  10. They are not alone in having a poor season. No one is denying this. By your logic we'd look to replace every player bar Gawn and Salem this year. We are just starting to get our best team on the park and Weid showed some glimpses last week. It's a team game. Better delivery, less crowding, increased fitness is the key. Talent doesn't just disappear. PS. Thanks for the second personal attack in as many replies to me ?
  11. Misso must've done something right then! (touch wood)
  12. How'd he go in the big dance? Wasnt Weid BOG in the final vs Geel last year? Cox's career average is 9 disp and just over a goal per game I agree with the concept of structure missing in our forward line. This is more critical than getting Cameron or the like. Your arguments to sell the farm for a key forward would be better described as the Swiss cheese position.
  13. But for one set shot on goal last year, it would've been that dud Cox. Post hoc ergo propter hoc
  14. You should be a doctor, Binny. Performance anxiety sounds spot on!
  15. Hey, to all those Docs on this thread, and there's obviously many, can one of you look at this nasty boil on my butt, I think it's having a panic attack... FMD!
  16. 7 kicks? That seems to be about right
  17. Collingwood are a flag contender this year, which is what I was responding to. You could also argue that Cox doesn't fill this need for them at all. They have DeGoey, but IMO Cox is far from being a quality key forward
  18. I can tell you one club he won't go to: Collingwood.
  19. Greg Healy? ?
  20. I understood yhat Lynch's contract is severely back ended.
  21. I also hold hopes that Mr Preuss can build a tank over the next 2 preseasons and be another strong option in the forward line. The reality is that not all of our tall forwards will be fit or in form for a whole season. Once he has a tank I'd like to see Mr Preuss given the opportunity for a few games in a row. Has shown he has some understanding of leading patterns, is quite a strong mark and neat kick for his size, and has goal awareness. Not saying he is our next key forward, just that he will need to show veratility to get games while Max is our no 1 ruck.
