  1. Agree with everything you say. They make them now so that you barely even notice you've got one in. Not too sure how many teeth mouthguards save, but they can also be very effective for preventing concussions
  2. It was a very exciting game. I was there sitting next to Larry Tanenbaum, who seems very optimistic about the future. I'm not sure I'll be as optimistic as him until I see how well this drafting strategy plays out in the summer and early next season.
  3. Trenners also got done a few years ago for a fantastic tackle on Dangerfield
  4. Yeah, wasn't thrilled with the return for Reimer. Parenteau didn't find a suitor so he'll be around until the end of the season. Nylander, Kapanen and Hyman to debut tonight against Tampa Bay. Can't see the Leafs winning more than 5 games for the rest of the season. Exciting times....
  5. I did...one of the best interviews I've seen in a long time. If only he could play haha
  6. I don't think the Leafs are going to have any players left by this time next week. One of the biggest clean outs of a team in any sport that I can recall. Being a Dees supporter I feel a great deal of sympathy for Edmonton. Their struggles are almost identical to ours and they are playing without any passion at all. I hope they can turn it around...it seems like McDavid's the only one trying, and despite his best efforts, the team isn't improving.
  7. Looking forward to seeing what he can do. The ball's in his court: if he can string a few good games together, he'll play round one.
  8. What I like about him is that he seems the type of player that would crawl across broken glass to get the footy, and he seems to have great awareness to know when he has time to dance around players to get a better disposal off and when he needs to get rid of it quickly. He also won't shirk any contests, which will make others around him walk taller.
  9. Just what we need, a surplus of ruckmen!
  10. Still waiting for one flag in my lifetime...just one
  11. I cannot wait for the 2024 draft.
  12. Absolutely brutal. Our first line is made up of fourth liners (despite Komarov's great season, he's no more than a solid grinder). I wouldn't be surprised if Kadri was being punished by Babcock for his suspension-worthy threat to Wideman in the previous game. It also seems that Connor McDavid can play. 5 points against the Leafs.
  13. I think Pittsburgh is the big dark horse. Crosby is on fire, Kessel has finally found a linemate who he can produce with (Hagelin), Letang is playing the best hockey of his career and Malkin is still to come back into the lineup. On another note, the Leafs finally offloaded Phaneuf by trading him to the Senators. Biggest win for the Leafs in a decade! We're currently on a West coast road trip, and have left Lupul, Bozak and Matthias in Toronto to recover from injuries, while van Riemsdyk is still on the IR. Last night's team was one of the worst lineups I have ever seen...ever. Now it looks like Kadri will be missing a few games after making a visible threat to Giordano, and Bernier set to start the next game, so things are only going to get worse. Last place, here we come!
  14. I think he might've played before.
  15. Connor McDavid's back!
  16. You're right, I wasn't considering Casey. I can't wait for the footy to actually start so that we can move past this whole mess.
  17. The more time goes by without us hearing about the club lobbying for a top-up player for 2016, the more certain I become that we were prepared for this outcome when we began to court Melksham. We've got more than enough solid options down back to cover his loss this season.
  18. John Scott with 2 goals and named the All-Star MVP. Awesome.
  19. Joel Smith effectively compensates the loss of Melksham, numbers wise.
  20. Hopefully he's on a heavily front-ended contract that's due to pay him $1m+ in 2016 and very little for the final three years
  21. This is a really good read by John Scott, the enforcer that was voted into the NHL All Star game as a joke by fans only to have the NHL try and interfere.
  22. The Western Conference race is going to be really exciting to watch in the second half, with only six points separating fifth and eleventh. I think the teams that are currently in the top 8 will be there at the end of the season, but the order will shuffle around a lot over the next couple of months.
