  1. Grundy has been very good, but Max is 6 x AA for a reason. His tap work is great. He's just come back from a knee, so anyone using 1 game as a sample size to compare their tap work needs to take a deep breath
  2. I'm just glad this isn't being played in TAS. Love tassie, but not for playing Norf. Windy suburban ovals are a leveller.
  3. I think think our coaches are open to resting and rotating players more so than we have done in recent seasons. I don't think we can take Norf lightly but If May is carrying a niggle I'd rest him and give Disco a crack. Similarly if vineys knee needs a rest Give Dunstan a run. Same goes with Grundy. If he needs a freshen up after covering as a sole ruck, let Shaq a run along side Gawn. Provides an opportunity to reward strong VFL form too
  4. I'll take that win over the 50 point victory that I predicted. Hard fought, in a big match. Boys should take alot of belief from that. I echo what alot have said about needing to find our best mix forward and back. With that said, there's so much upside to come. May to get back into form, BBBB to come back in and Petty to go back to defence imo.
  5. I thought Petty played plenty of time down back last week. Salem's 2021 form was incredible too. But yes, no Lever and Hibbo made us alot weaker - both are good one on one, and Levers ability to judge when to leave his man and when to stay was sorely missed.
  6. I'm actually quite confident about this game. Bombers beat us for a number of reasons, but mostly because we were a rabble down back. Brining back Lever and Hibbo should address alot of this. Im also bouyed by the response against the Swans after the Lions loss. Hope to see a similar response this week. Our players like the big occasions too. Lastly im putting blind faith in travel being a contributing factor in the lack lustre performance in SA. Trips to QLD, WA and SA to start the season didn't help our cause. Dees by 50
  7. Speaking of rough, is their a slim blonde lady in the dees cheer squad with a mouth like a trooper?! Absolute legend, but had to explain to my Kindy aged son what a $%^*#^% @#^$ is haha
  8. I had 6 bottles of that wine and it was terrible (probably should have cellared them....). In comparison the Emblem and Team of the Century Shiraz that Tyrrel's did close to a decade ago was pretty good!
  9. I think this is the standard type of over-saturated-AFL-media hyperbole. I get that making a weeks worth of material out of 9 games can be tough, but the media go way over the top with their assessment of players and teams early in the season. Bombers killed us all over the park. Grundy was a lone ruck against 2 rucks with a good game plan. End of story
  10. No idea why people are so quick to bag Gus. Not our worst
  11. I didn't think so either, but some of the young guys looked tired and lost today
  12. We were very fumbly. And it was a rare game where almost the entire team were off. Not dissimilar to the Brisbane game actually. Over the coming weeks we will welcome the likes of Lever, Gawn, Harmes and BBB back into the mix.
  13. Maybe, but he's a lone Wolf, egomaniac that cares more about his own performance than the teams. Has been that way for a very long time and the die hard dockers have always thought he was a cancer on their culture
  14. Great news. One of my favourites from the young brigade. Still has so much upside too
  15. Most freo fans don't like Fyfe. What does that tell you!?
  16. Anyone who bags Jack doesn't watch the games live. He's absolutely brutal at the ball day long. Does alot of the dirty work. Was super impressive on the weekend. Re Milkshake and the 100 mfc games, I don't buy it but I think Melksham is a goody favourite - I think he's seen as good sized utility with an experienced head - a workable option in many injury or game situations for the sub
  17. So hard not to let Nostalgia put the Swooper/Balme/Danniher era players above the current crop. Reality is that the current era side are by far the best Melbourne team in my lifetime. But will always have a soft spot for the guys that were my hero's growing up. OPs team is hard to argue with
  18. Happy with a 10 goal win. Eagles turned up early and were flicking the ball around with pace early on. Was a little worried it could be a grind all day. Some rambling thoughts; Jack Viney was very, very good today. Glorious to see T-Mac clunking some nice grabs on the lead too. #31 classy as always and Kozzy could have been BOG on another day if he had finished off his work a little more efficiently. Trent Rivers is a gun.
  19. I saw enough blood baths at subi to last a lifetime. I'd love to see us absolutely humiliate them on their home deck.
  20. Hard to make any changes after that win. Perhaps Kozzy is the sub...
  21. There are four teams in the comp who I think probably have our measure; Cats, Pies, Swans and Lions. Wasn't shocked at the result at the Gabba (especially with no May and not much Gawn). This weekends game will help to show us where we're at in 2023 imo. Time for JVR for sure
  22. Thankfully we're better equipped to cover Max now than we have been for years. Grundy + Josh Schache is an upgrade on Dogga and Weid
