A distinctive 'chill' up here in the air this morning as I walked outside. The Dry Season is with us. Boil the kettle, get out the teapot, pop in the tea leaves. If i was still in Melbourne add the tea cozy. Allow 2-3 minutes for the tea to seep, using a tea strainer pour out the tea into your favourite cup with saucer of course. Cut a nice slice of cake (gluten free preferred) and settle down in front of the telly. Out come the Casey Demons young and old to face the tigers. Wipe the dew of the Sherrin and let the game commence.

Noah Yze very stiff at selection. In ripper form apparently last week in the amateurs. (A known pathway to success in yonder days.) Guess somebody had to give way for Fritsch and JVR. Who showed some brief flashes of brilliance. Jacob's last quarter re-united him with the footy.

Rather than wade through the gloomy forebodings of the apocalyptic winter of our discontent, which is this Season’s Annus horribilis. It’s an opportune moment to to scratch an itch and announce the Wade Derksen Cup. Casey Fields bright and early this Saturday morning. With the return of star alumni including Bayley Fritsch and JVR meeting this year’s boom recruit Aiden Johnson still finding his feet. Plus what could’ve should’ve or would’ve been… THE DERK has finally arrived at Casey Fields. With the AFL forward line being replaced with the VFL forward line. The selection Merry-Go-Round is now in full swing. Should be fun for all with a carnival atmosphere. (More to come). With the extended run of warm weather the Slitherers won’t in hibernation yet. Tread carefully these are venomous times. So due care is recommended and bring a snake bit kit.
