TEAMS: Rd 20 vs Fremantle
Pushing up his market value?? Or, maybe JVR is cover against Jackson defecting to Free as the teams run out onto the field? ๐ฑ

TEAMS: Rd 20 vs Fremantle
As above we went for nigh on a decade without a home game v Druggies. And Carlton Hawthorn Collingwood Richmond are never sent down to that marginal seat subsidy ground with the absurd boundaries and little visitor access whereas we go every bloody year. Yet some still hold that the AFL ainโt a corrupt clique. Of course just because Lobb has been named doesnโt mean he will play.

CASEY: Rd 19 vs Northern Bullants
"...There is a Jetstar flight leaving at 1:40 am, but I doubt if they would use that ?" Would probably arrive by Tuesday morning. Sadly I think Joel would be only one more long term injury (wherever he plays) from being delisted. ๐ค

CHANGES: Rd 20 vs Fremantle
Brilliant - we need to replace Goody (Premiership coach) with WAL. Perhaps he [Baker] just doesn't fulfil his role? Re selection announcement - Surely the squad has gone over to Perth already (Thursday afternoon), or do we go on the morning of an evening match??

Farewell Luke Jackson
Midfield or wing?

Angus Brayshaw Re-Signs Until 2028
Fantastic news for Gus and for MFC and all their supporters. THANKS GUS. And ... we won't have to rename the Gus n Gawny podcast.๐

Head high tackles
1. Gamesmanship - but certainly NOT the intention of the OOB on the full rule. Not sure how it can be changed, unless (radical change) the guy who flicks it onto the other's boot gets a deliberate paid against. Very hard to adjudicate. IMO those should be regarded as "incidental" and the ball thrown back in. 2. Surely this is an extension of the Kevin Bartlett rule and he should be regarded as still in possession? 3. Cheating - heavy fines in retrospect should be paid, and if any of the multitude of maggots (2 goal, 4 boundary, 3+emergency field) see it they should call it out immediately. It would stop very quickly. Wink, wink; nod, nod. Both are above the shoulders and I see no ducks so both are frees.

Demonstone's and Flaubert's English Grammar for Demonlanders 101
Canโt you afford a ๐ด ๐ horse?

Head high tackles
Macca - sound thoughts but it will ultimately only work if the umpires start showing some consistency and even handedness.

OUR USE OF THE SUB RULE
Interesting concept - it would also mean that guys like Bedford could get a run late in a game without having to spend (I think it was at one stage 5) weeks without a game. Specifying the number of days could disadvantage teams with multiple short breaks, and advantage those with longer breaks. Maybe missing one (or two) matches would be a more equable rule.

I are not quiet shore why they do this, but if yew agree I will keep quite about it.

CHANGES: Rd 20 vs Fremantle
Surely it is t time for JVR - binman, isn't this close enough to be "eve of finals"? Our season IS on the line, and if we are to roll the dice on JVR surely it is now.

Angus Brayshaw Re-Signs Until 2028
From the recent SEN interview: "It (position) is certainly something that comes into calculations,โ Brayshaw stated. โIโve heard all sorts of theories about where I play my best footyโฆ Iโm really loving playing on the half back flank this year. โIt came a bit out of nowhere and I absolutely love being a part of that group.โ

Farewell Luke Jackson
The head honcho and polo ponies, I believe. I agree entirely. Let's hope it is not the dreaded 'rona ๐จ๐ณ๐ฆ shared with the playing group.

CHANGES: Rd 20 vs Fremantle
Or it may make him want to play there every second week ๐ฎ (MFCSS kicking in early).

Angus Brayshaw Re-Signs Until 2028
โOne thing Iโm quite proud of is that despite all the talk and the noise I havenโt really let it affect the way I play footy and commit to the team." Unlike Jackson?? ..... "It (position) is certainly something that comes into calculations,โ Brayshaw stated. โIโve heard all sorts of theories about where I play my best footyโฆ Iโm really loving playing on the half back flank this year. โIt came a bit out of nowhere and I absolutely love being a part of that group.โ Doesn't sound t me that he is demanding a midfield role.

Farewell Sam Weideman
If Goody took any โlearningsโ from the Footscray game it should be low spearing passes into I50, not bombs. Even if not at a leading player, if goal side of a contest it gives our fast crumbers an even chance. Bombing is not working.

CHANGES: Rd 20 vs Fremantle
For those of us who donโt / canโt open Twitter what was the gist? I would think any sort of win, sure 4-5 goals would be great, will give hope (and expectations) for the rest of the season. Another loss and I would agree with you. Weed also seemed to mysteriously disappear after half time, after a career best first quarter - was he injured?

Have we been worked out?
Great detail in your thinking, Altona. Hopefully Goodwin will "take some learnings" from all this and maybe, just maybe, modify our plans. Thanks heart for bringing this up again. I think it is a combination of your thoughts and Altona's. I guess only time will tell re the fitness (and "loading"), assuming that time actually enables us to be in a competitive position, ie top 2 or 4 come September.

OUR USE OF THE SUB RULE
"The rule should be that if a player is subbed off, they can't play the following match week. That would limit it to serious injuries." Of course this wouldn't stop cheating in GFs.

CHANGES: Rd 20 vs Fremantle
A Bradshaw vs A Bradshaw? Each trying to persuade the other to join him. IF BBB isn't 100% then it is time to pull the JVR emergency ripcord.

OUR USE OF THE SUB RULE
Giver the question marks over our walls, both forward and back, if Lever gets back next week then I would use Tomlinson. He could replace one of the big defenders, or release perhaps Petty to go forward if a tall forward was needed. Even play wing. And if a small mid was needed he could release someone like Jordon from the wing to the midfield. Makes zero sense to keep on playing naming Bedford (or Chandler) Or, as others have said, Hunt is the other good option.

NON-MFC: Round 19, 2022
Bloody Collingwood getting out of jail again - appropriate as they need to get out to play, and many of the fans too. But 13 wins, 4th place, and a percentage of 106,2 lower than any of the top 10 other than St Kilda. Quite bizarre.
