  1. He is a nasty self-opinionated, self-serving man who holds grudges for far too long (way past anyone else that cares).

I disagree. he's fair but sometimes sees things through the view of his time in AFL.

But IMO he is one of the great sports broadcasters and his sessions with Patrck Smith on SEN at 9.00am are mandatory listening.

  2. Absolutely worth it. This club needs to extend it's reach and the fact that it is doing it with sincerity, thanks to Jimmy, makes it all the more beneficial.

This is a really important thread.

Anyone who's been to Darwin will know it's as if youv'e landed in another country - the vegeation, people, climate etc.

If we're smart this WILL become a northern home base and that's a great thing for all those up there and all of us down here. We need to see it as just that, not "let's go to canberra to make some money", but what can the oldest football club in the world contribute to Darwin and its people. Just an extension of our Chairman's approach to life really.

Liam Jurrah et al are just the bonus in all this.

A 'Fair Dinkum' Dreamtime at TIO I say! next year. Tiger Airways can be the sponsor

  3. It feels like I am following a very similar but oh so different team. Everyone who has done anything for the club over the last couple of years should feel proud but I know exactly who should take the credit (but he won't cause that is the sort of bloke he is).

    Correct,

I know of 4 new members who say if it's good enough for him, it's good enough for us.

  4. Is it just me or do most here contemplate the facts that we have )probaly 33,000 memebers and are sitting in ninth spot (ignoring the pies and dogs games)and find this unbelievable after the last few years.

Someone must take serious credit no matter what. Long way to go but...

  5. 29,907 views on the jack watts thread. lets all give it a rest.

We're on the way and he will be icing on the cake. My mail is that his grwoth spurt needs management and Bailey knows what he's doing . Lets cut him some slack and enjoy the demoliton of West Coast this Saturday.

  6. For me, pleased to see that they're learning to play (well), and play together. Learning to win (when it counts) is still a little further down the road.

Taking positives from a game that we lost isn't an endorsement of losing.

Very good point. The positive from last Friday was seeing the young players running into the center corridor and overlapping demanding the ball, as they did against Brisbane.

Often the calls weren't honoured in the last 1/4 when we had it on the MCC boundary, maybe tiredness perhaps, but the team knows what its doing and have learnt a lot.

  7. This, I think, is the major point. There are more important things than winning a single H&A game. Nobody was singing the praises of the Dogs, after all.

Very good point. The performance of the Demons may well be this year's story. Negligible press on the Bulldogs almost to irrelevancy.

Self-belief musy now be at a 4 year high, and the younger team members will be developing a terrifc level of confidence - the most important quality in young players.

  8. Did anyone hear Dean Bailey's comment at the after-match press conference on Friday Night?

He said the team will move on in 24 hours and next Saturday will "be coming at West Coast like a freight train"

It cheered me up no end on the drive home - I belive him!
