  1. Just arrived at the G and I am wondering why you would be playing a game of AFL today. I feel those who have to play today. My rant for the day. on a crowded train the carriages are full. There is a lady with a scarf around her head, wearing a mask and looking pale standing and looking uncomfortable. Obvious to me that she is insuring treatment. No one stood up to give her a seat except a guy well into his seventies. What sort of world have we become?  Rant over. Go Dees.

Lots of complaining on various forums about the Kayo 4k shell game.

Foxtel does show Channel 7 games in 4k so it is available.

Some suggest it's a rights issue. Others say it's a capacity problem. Bottom line it's a lesser product. As an aside it's been suggested they have also removed the 5:1 sound channel from AFL.

Sounds to me like you get what you pay for with channel 7. You pay nothing so cop this.

  3. For some time now I have been wondering about van R. After Thursday’s game my opinion has been confirmed. I don’t see him as more than being occasionally useful. He is not an A grade player. We are desperately short of KPF’s which is no secret, we have no choice but to keep playing him but IMO he is far from the answer.

  5. After reading articles on the up coming state budget I am confident that the Caulfield move will not happen this decade.

Casey it is for the forceable future. Get used to it everyone.

  6. Here we are approaching the first game of 2024. I have been busy with other things in this early part of the year and have only seen highlights of our practise matches. Looking at the side selected and knowing we have a number of good players on the injured list I am feeling confident this year. We will beat the Swans the only thing up for discussion is by how much. I doubt I will ever get over losing Gus to that charming individual from the pies. The sound of those Morons chanting Collingwood while  Gus lay unconscious on the ground will haunt me to the grave. That aside I am looking forward to an enjoyable year watching the Dees.

You have zen-like explanations like "You must unask the question" and "Embrace the essential nothiness" and "It is in asking the question that you will find your own answer". Perhaps you can ask "What is it about this thread?" rather than "What is this thread about?". Or, like most of us here, you can just shrug your shoulders, accept it is a mystery and join in the fun!

Note that this is the only thread on Demonland that can't be derailed, by definition ...

Well said R and B. On another level how are you?

It’s about whatever you want it to be about.

From what I understand there’s only one topic that’s NOT under any circumstances to be discussed, and that’s T.S. The ‘No BS’ part of the title is exactly that… BS, coz there’s a [censored]-tonne of BS strewn throughout the thread. In fact BS forms the very foundation of the thread. Without the BS this thread would be lucky to reach two pages in length.

Anyways, ima introduce an unpleasant topic, that being Shingles. Because I’m currently afflicted with the dreaded Shingles. Not the shingles on a roof, nor the sign outside a professional’s practice in days of old and not the women’s hairstyle from the 1920s. Nope, the Shingles of the I hope I’m well enough to go to Sydney on Thursday variety. 😢

See? This thread is about whatever you want it to be about.

You have my sympathy I have had Shingles it is terrible and very painful. Any older person should get the vaccination to ward it off. No idea when you got it but it usually takes at least two weeks to return some sort of normality. Good luck but I think you might be watching on the Tele.

Keeping in mind this thread prohibits B$   .. I'm detecting the 'aroma' of the Elephant variety these days..    more and more.

Yes the strength is rising. It seems that every subject is treated with silence by those in power. It appears we are as usual just excepting all the [censored] the media and others dish out.

Glad to see the mickey mouse comp aka VFL continues.

Add in the usual 3 byes and the wild card round just for fun

    It's a joke DJ.

Do you have NBN fibre to the premises OD. If you have fibre to the node NBN will now upgrade you for free with a relatively short waiting time (1-2 months).

This combined with making sure you have a good wifi distribution at home will see the ring disappear. The best system of wi fi extension these days is "Mesh".

Those F1 timeslots make following that sport challenging

DJ fibre to the house. Modem is in the room next door. Replays are great it is difficult to watch F1 without a streaming service these days.

Did you watch though the Live Channels OD? I always do and rarely have any buffering issues.

Yes, on replays it was great even better picture quality. But live AFL it was poor. No problem I can live without it. I will miss F1.

Get ready for Hubbl in a couple of weeks (launch date 14 Feb)

Not sure it delivers any benefit but it's the new Foxtel service to deliver Kayo and Binge. In reality it's designed to get you to put all your other subscriptions through it (Netflix, Disney etc). Bundling or "stacking" as it's often called is the new approach to maximising their $$$ returns. Other than one bill a month for all your streaming services it's unclear that it delivers much more. Perhaps a discount but no signs of that.

The streaming industry is clearly in a state of flux with way too many players

After my experience last year DJ I doubt I will be back for more of the spinning arrow of death that accompanied any live game.
