We have 1 new bad injury since preseason started with was Bowser.
We've got 4 guys coming back from injuries last season in AMW, McAdam, Mihocek and Matthews. AMW and Mihocek have done a fair bit of main drills.
We've got 3 collision injuries to Gawn, Laurie and Campbell. Those are going to happen. Laurie and Gawn's don't sound serious. Sounds like TC's is, but that happens.
2 guys battling overuse injuries in Viney and Henderson, both since last year. Viney hopefully winning his battle.
1 short term soft tissue in Sharp.
Your first para says it all DS. The fact that Viney might not play till April is no big deal. He is into his 30's and it's a long season I would rather him be in form in June. There are two in that list who will be missed the rest are depth players at best. It also gives a few players who could not get a game under Goodwin and we have bought in players through the draft etc who will step up some earlier than they might have expected. I doubt we will trouble the premiership this year but I think it is not being overly optimistic to expected to finish 8th or 9th

Another factor is how many of the players who have had short term injuries have still been able to do cardio work.
For example, it's not great Max broke a finger, but at least he can maintain his aerobic fitness, eg on the bike or running laps.
I think we can be confident he will once again be the best ruckman in the comp. I seriously doubt there is much he could learn in the pre season.

All good now.
Guess what she was told to eat, to help avoid future issues, yes BANANAS.
I of course like a good dutiful husband, have joined her in this quest.
I have done that recently Mr Leg spending hours in the emergency at night is not something I would even wish on a pies supporter. How is she now? Did the bananes do there thing?

If there is no Vic. Team involved it will die quickly. Does any Victorian have any interest in who wins out of a SA vs WA clash. Without keen Vic people it's ratings will be terrible.

I think it's a great idea to get rep footy back with the best players in the league playing. Just about every other team from has a form of top level representative (ie. Playing for your country or state).
Plus it's less than handfull of players from each club, I'm sure the game plan and all that will be fine.
Me and my mates are keen for it, and I've got mates from WA that are keen for it and are going. A few of us are getting together to watch it. Obviously we don't know how it will go, but it's not a waste of time for us - but that's okay you don't have to watch it :)

...this game is not developed for State of Origin.
The prize is the Premiership, it always will be.
The novelty wears off as soon as there is a serious injury, it happened before and will happen again.
The lessons of history are hard learned and more often they're not learned at all.
Get back to me in a few years and lets see how it's going then.
Spot on rjay. The AFL will humour the ones who think it is a good idea for a couple if years and then drop it

All the players live over there, it's prime location, there's plenty of space. Would make so much sense to reinvigorate it with the council and make it our long term home.
PTJ It's a postage stamp why do you think the Hawks went to Waverley! The facilities are 1950's level. It's not the answer.

1 hour ago, Redleg said: I haven’t got a clue, just that my info from the MRC, school and us, is that it is happening.
Could it fall over, yes obviously, but at this point I have not heard anything suggesting that.
It sounds like we don’t control the announcement, or that there are other issues still to be resolved, I don’t know, but until somebody in the know tells me the opposite, to what I have heard, I will believe the project is proceeding.
Just because it hasn’t been formally announced doesn’t mean it is definitely not happening, that is all I am saying, until we hear officially otherwise.
If this project falls over I will be very, very disappointed, as personally I am really looking forward to it being done and as a nearby resident with my family, would be able to visit often and get some valuable exercise walking there and back and spending time with other Dees fans at training, which I can’t do at the present venues as easily.
Mr Leg, I and I suspect many demon fans are very tired of this silence approach we have been experiencing over the last decade. That experience over a number of "home projects" tells me it is has some major problems. I worry when I see the latest President and CEO go silent. We have been here before with zero results.

A page or two back I said that I will never see the completion of a permanent home PF. It beggars belief that this has been going on for decades. IMO past boards were hampered by the need for it be near the G when blindly Fredy could see that was never going to happen. It would be nice for once for the board to come out and say this is the plan and we are waiting because of X,Y and Z. Instead of the silence we have endured for decades. Oh some would say we cannot tell you because we are sworn to secretresy. I am confident that this confidentiality card is used to hide the fact we are going nowhere fast as the projects of the past has shown.

That probably covers it.

I struggle with Kayo due to the poor streaming quality that is worse than 7HD.
It beggars belief how bad Kayo's picture quality is. What intrigues me is live the quality is average at its best. But watch the same game on replay and it is considerably better Why? I watch NBL on Kayo and it is good as well why AFL?
