I think that is well known jnr. I am told at the end of year function when he came second in the Best and fairest player award there was no applause from the players or most people in the room. I understand that after meeting his future wife things changed. And of course the injury that landed him in hospital also impacted his attitude when the then President did not even phone him. Its sad and disappointing that he is now at another club because he is at the top of league in playing ability.

I believe there a lot of things that happened in the last two years that we will never heard about. It appears we wanted Oliver gone at any price. We virtually gave him to the giants. There is a lot more to his story that we will probably ever know. Mysterious visits to hospital. Time taken off for " personal issues". I just hope that this year we can finish the year in a mid ladder position.

Take it to the bank we will be at Waverley sooner than later and we have a snowflakes chance in hell of EVER getting to Caulfield, PERIOD. What that will ultimately mean is that in the absence of any other viable alternative, Waverley will be our home for the forseable future. All over red rover!
Sadly I think you are correct PF.

The racetrack and the tunnel dream will soon blow over
I’ve definitely got the Fitzroys about this.
And where are they now? Brisbane! It was called artic park for good reason and the scene of the great robbery.

Corporate dollars V rent, AFL own an empty facility they get a tenant we get a home base half way towards our second facility.
Caulfield is a mile off, Waverley will be our home for many years.
Forever, we might as well change our name to the Waverley Demons. We will be there forever.

Figures of $500k have been mentioned for posts and protective sheeting to reduce, but not eliminate wind gusts.
I worked down that way for over 20 years any resident will tell you it is a windy area. Evidently they didnt ask about the wind. It is also in the same rain band as Sandown, Waverley, Dingly and Dandenong. All you need do is ask the BOM for records. It appears they didnt!

Who cares - it’s a HUGE upgrade over anything we’ve ever had? What’s difficult about this - it’s the right call, if it adds a few years to Caulfield it simply doesn’t matter - would you rather something now or still nothing in seven, eight, nine, 10 years etc? It’s a no brainer
I will be dead!

The club (and the press) also have said that they see a waverley move as an interim move
goschs paddock has suddenly become a bargaining asset with collingwood and tennis australia (incl vic gov) being strategically interested (possibly richmond too). Therefore, my concern is that if we give up aami without any caulfield guarantees we could be stranded at waverley. I say could be, because there may in fact be some guarantees re caulfield that are close to being announced, but we are just in the dark at this stage.
i don't see waverley as a long term solution for exactly the same reasons as hawthorn did, and these have been discussed many times here (expansion ability, 2 ovals, closed training, aflw, vfl, vflw etc)
step warily
DC my fear is if we move to Waverley it is a handy way of getting the subject off the agenda that the AFL has and remember the new Tassie team is going to suck up lots of AFL money. It is a quick way for the AFL / state government to get the MFC out of Goschs. With no agreement on Caulfield if we move to Waverley we will be stuck there forever. Caulfield will be in the same draw as the Airport train service. Then be bought out every election year then quickly returned to the draw. The other wild card is the next election is in November it is difficult to see Labor being returned so what is the Liberal party / the red head party attitude? A move to Waverley will see us there forever.

If we move to Waverley it removes the need for the government to do something at Caulfield any time soon. The Caulfield project then gets moved into the same draw as the rail link to tulla. The AFL will be happy to have waverley used and will not have to give money to the mfc at the same time as money to the Tassie team. We will be stuck there for at least the next decade. We might as well change our name to the Waverley Demons.

That type of contact is far different from flying for a pack mark.
The AFL is honestly hopeless. We had ruckman jumping into each and it caused a lot of knee injuries that is why they changed to the system we have had up till now. They constantly change rules imo because it seems like a good idea at the time.

Is it just me or does the Club treat their fans somewhat differently than the President Steven Smith’s message to fans today emphasising how important we are to the club?
It might be just me but the SS email sounded very Ho hum. We need more members it’s just an annual pitch. Win next Sunday and watch the numbers clime.

NWM- 1 breakout season, albeit a great one.
TDK - emerging
Silvagni- Overrated. Has never been in AA conversation
Max King- Can’t get fit
Phillipou- inconsistent, can’t string together good games
Owens - Promising, but still yet to fully breakout
Wilkie, Sinclair and NWM are genuine A listers, but who else do they have?
I just hope Collingwood bring them back down to earth and give a massive reality check.
Tonight, I am a Collingwood fan.
Then we get a team looking for revenge next week. They beat us twice last year on one occasion by 10 goals and then we lost the un- lose able. I will just imagine you didn’t say the unthinkable at the end.

Exclusive Interview with Paul Guerra, Steven King & Steven Smith
in Melbourne Demons
Perhaps we could not afford another pay out. Richardson contract is due to end after this year's season.
