  1. Perhaps we should have traded him to the Hawks and kept Frost!
  2. Zones did affect interstate recruiting. IMO the club that did the best out of zones was Carlton. They got a beauty in Bendigo. Anyway here we are in 2020 as always hoping a new season will be different.
  3. Deeoldfart surely by this age you realise this will never happen. Injury reports are seldom truthful. The second language of the AFL is lying.
  4. I maintain that the MFC took decades to escape the success is the 50's. Back then players flocked to join the MFC because we were successful and were the establishment team. However during the sixties the competition started to go professional and the MFC believe that players would still want to come to the MFC simply because we were Melbourne and played at the G. Norm Smith tried to tell the club things were changing but they could not see it. We stayed stuck in this mind set for decades and the rest is history. IMO we have only really got with it in the last 7-8 years. We still have no home. I place the blame on decades of "conservative" management.
  5. Agree Macca as members there is nothing more we can do. However it raises a question, after 56 years of dismal results it would appear a group is letting the club down rather severely. Who are they?
  6. He is 13 foot tall?
  7. Start worrying if he does not turn up today!
  8. That may well be true rjay but for most of his games last year he played as an average backman. Then when he was switched to the forward line it is only human nature for players to think "I have an easier opponent today" That will not happen this season. I will be very happy if he kicks 45 goals but that is not achieved by many players in the game these days.
  9. One reason. He probably caught a few defences out in 2019. They will be right on to him this year.
  10. 40 - 50! I would have thought 25 might be more realistic total 58r.
  11. He is now in his third year jnr and so far he has not shown much. Admittedly he has been injured a bit and is again this year. Another year spent mainly on the sidelines will not serve him well. IMO he is an average talent with injury problems. Those types usually don't have long careers at AFL level.
  12. Well fd I thought I posted something funny but it has been deleted. Never mind looks like the PC police have got me.
  13. Honestly has he shown anything at senior level? Rarely in the best five at Casey. If it was not for injuries in 2019 I doubt he would have a senior game to his name.
  14. Yes but we need to win the first finals game. To expect more after scrapping into the finals in 2018 and then finishing second last in 2019 is expecting miracles and they never happen in the real world.
  15. Tend to agree with you adc, when lots of money is involved largess appears. Also who is dediding where the AFL money goes? Gill! Having said that there is much to do and the need for money and lots of it is high. I guess we just have to accept that substantial amounts will not be spent wisely and be happy that the majority of money will hit the right spots. To do anything else means that no one will get the much needed funds.
  16. Thanks for that BB now some will think I am being sarcastic but I am not, good to see you were happy with the Weid's performance today. We need him to be consistently in the best players in 2020.
  17. Always intrigues me why people get wound up about stories on club websites. By its very nature a club website is about promotion and positivity of the club. The stories will always be positive about the club. Can you imagine this piece written in any other fashion. If he had nothing positive to say the article would not exist. You go to club websites for factual information like entre times to games etc not warts and all stories about the club's chances or real injury information. E.G. AVB last year. His injury was never discussed, in fact I don't think the nature of his injury was ever listed.
  18. Don't the girls train there DJ?
  19. And this is bad because??????
  20. I live in a council area that has had its councillors removed twice over corruption etc issues. The best results have been achieved when we had administrators. Without the petty self interest of councillors every thing works well and things get done properly. I believe the Casey council is heading for the high jump. The state government is just going through the process. IMO the council will be sacked before Casey plays its first game in 2020. What effect that will have on our relationship is not clear but it will depend on the attitude of the administrator / s. In My experience decisions will be made on the worth of individual projects not the pets projects of councillors.
  21. Hi DJ, your last sentence probably says it all. I think people long ago work out there was 9 tenths of nothing available in the inner Melbourne area so outer surburbs it was. So far they have been proved correct.
  22. They AfL giving away some of their money. Surely you jest. Hell will freeze over first.
