A premeditated excuse for their Round 24 loss to Geelong.
-
Well done eth38...keep it up.
Roger Mellie in fine form.
RR, when drafting one of my own rules I used was buyer beware..ie Fevola, etc so too for the injury prone footballers and weighing up other factors regarding form ie Dean Cox.
Just a reminder Cox was the last bloke picked...and over at UF he won the MVP for 2011 Demonland. What a pick up....
Yep, I drafted the injury prone. You'll see my Round 12 score soon, I had half a team...
And nice work on Cox.

It's been too long.

Seems fair.
Hope you didn't tank though Eth
Nah, I didn't. Honestly tried to win.
-
Send it to Giesch. There's actually no excuse for that.
-
Deevoted raises a point - assuming most of us will be in the league next year, will we do the picks based around this year's ladder?
In line for pick 3. Cox...
-
Viney?
-
Every club has good, fair supporters just as every club has its mongrel supporters. Melbourne is no exception.
Too true. Nutcase Melbourne supporter behind me this arvo - could not stop going on about Tom Scully, lining up for the one million dollar goal, screaming at Melbourne to kick it when we were in a highly contested situation. Yelling's fine, but some people take it too far.
-
Pretty much the same story as Nathan Brown and Mick Barlow for those who weren't at the game today. Sickening stuff.
Let's hope he gets back to his good form. He'll be a gem.
Don't watch if you're squeamish.
-
Strauss the obvious, Tapscott should hopefully get up. Davey looked out of form or unfit. And Green...

3 - Jeremy Howe
2 - Nathan Jones
1 - Tom Scully

What about Beamer Moloney? Was he fit last week or not?
No, he had the flu. Would imagine he'd be over that.
-
Quick question: who's James Moloney?
Severely underrates Petterd, who should be in the potential A-grade by 2012 category IMO. Otherwise a good list.
-
According to Damian Barrett on Twitter:
AFL integrity alert: Given Dean Bailey’s comments today, Brett Clothier is now obliged to properly investigate Melbourne’s tankingThose comments were Dean Bailey mentioning that he was setting the club up through draft picks, or something to that extent.

A 26% winning percenatage in nearly 4 seasons.............and then the game on Saturday...............surely no one is suprised.
With 7 wins and 37 losses in 2008 and 2009 skewing that record. Doubt many coaches could go better than that and still set up our youth for the future in the way that he did.
-
Even Mark from O'Brien couldn't fix the cracks in the club at the moment.
-
I'm hearing he's just been sacked.
Yet to hear from a good source (radio station, decent journo) but it's what I'm hearing.
-
Do we want a director of coaching overseeing Viney as a first year coach?
Who are the specialists?
Leigh Matthews or Paul Roos or a Malthouse to be director of coaching?
Garry Lyon?
It's time for him to get involved or stay out, as was mentioned somewhere else on here.
-
I think we need Viney or someone like that as coach. Despite his lack of experience he'll make the players play for the club.
I still want Schwab at the club.
-
Complete knee jerk reaction and it's not going to help our future.
Schwab is a great guy who loves the club.
It's too easy to forget that he saved the club in 2008.
-
I just got back from Geelong and have had some time to settle down but i'm still [censored] off.
What is up with Jack watts playing loose in defence? when Bailey said "on the couch" that he will be a key forward I would assume that would mean he would play forward. Is Jack Watts the first number 1 draft pick to ever be picked because of his loose man in defence skills? Mind you I thought Watts was the only player to have a crack today.
What is up with Jurrah starting on the wing? Is he really going to get in and under tackle hard, break tackles and move the ball forward for us? He is a forward 50 player and that's it. So either play him their or drop him!
I was on the fence about bailey staying or going but he has to be going. That was the most gut wrenching game to sit through as my Father in law has front row seats in the members section and to have to sit and listen to our club being laughed at all day was painful.
Brett Deledio.
Where's the Vent Your Spleen thread? There's normally one when there's a lot of things to vent about but I haven't seen it...
-
If what I heard on BF is true, then it isn't particularly the decision I wanted.
-
Green, Strauss
When was the last time a captain got dropped?
If it's going to happen, it'll happen this week.
