gysberts from the dees and butcher from the power.
i agree with whomsover above compared the gys to pendlebury. if he's as talented as he appears, it's possible.
Yeah, the Gys just has that rare ability to make things look easy. Hasn't shown it consistently yet, but if he can play 22 games next year...
Jack Trengove will win a Brownlow for this club. Out of the others, Shuey, Menzel and Redden.
-
The same Paul Johnson that got upgraded to Hawthorns main list and is selected to play against the Suns on Saturday?
At full-forward, too
No doubt I'm tuning in on Saturday.
-
BigFooty's not the most credible source but there is a post on there stating Fitzpatrick has been told he'll play.

Went with Jones in the end.
We were comparing him to Moloney at the start of the year...he's really stepped it up. I reckon he's made a late surge for the B&F.
-
Will he be eligible to win rising star in 2012?
Turns 21 in February, so yes.
-
How can Trengove catch up in one game when there are at most 6 points on offer?
The weekly scores vary based on the result. Complicated formula, I'd imagine.
Blease is on 23
-
I agree with this, I think next year we will see Bail and Nicholson become our defensive midfielders and Bartram on the outer. Although if we can get Blease and Grimes down back I can see Bartram returning to the back pocket as a pure defensive back to allow these two to create.
Maybe if Nicholson took the small forward? Play on Rioli, Betts, Milne and force them to look after him when he streams out of the 50.
-
Have to say Jurrah would have an early finish to the season at this stage.
I reckon it might be worth bringing Cook or Fitzpatrick in.
Thoughts?

You'd think it would be wise to add an outsider with relevant experience.
Drake are getting involved.
-
Actually looking at the points now and Sylvia got a 30% increase due to a bad record, so an early doesn't reduce the weeks at all.
Silly not to challenge it, then.
-
Sylvia's season is over unless he challenges successfully, as he's copped two weeks with an early plea.
Davey got one with the early plea. Would have been dropped, anyway...
-
There actually isn't anyone that stands out to be dropped this week, besides Davey who (sounds as if he) is gone.
Scully was good, by the way. Was clean in a really physical environment from what I saw.

Anyone that gives Jones votes is kidding themselves. Cost us at least 4 goals to West Coast with turn overs and 2 goals to us by missing easy targets. Yes people will say he gives his all but if we continue to accept medocrity in disposal like him and Bartram then we will get nowhere.
At least he gives a stuff. Can't say the same for about half our list at the moment.

"General Soreness" was the official line. Saw him walking to the coaches box with Todd from the rooms at the start of the game - seemed a comfortable conversation, so didnt look like an issue between these guys.
Did he look sore?
-
Post match function in the Victory Room was good.

Eh? When did Spencer have his chance? Spencer is contracted for next year and definatley deserves a chance.
Isn't much room left for him in the team.
I see a Carlton like scenario, except instead of Kreuzer, Hampson, Warnock and Jacobs, we have Jamar, Martin, Gawn and Spencer.
One will have to go. We could try and get a second rounder for Spencer out of Richmond in 2012.
Anyway, agree with the idea of the thread. Our best kicks are just good kicks and our next best are average.

Things I reckon:
1. At the moment Nathan Jones is indispensable for us.
2. Howe is going to be a genuine gun.
3. Blease will also make it.
4. Scully's workrate is pretty amazing, but his skills are not. If GWS offers him millions of dollars he'd be foolish not to take it. We shouldn't match the offer for him.
5. Our tall defenders are still guns. Their goals came from LeCras, Nicoski and their midfielders. Cox and Kennedy chipped in late when it was over.

6 - Jeremy Howe
5 - Ricky Petterd
4 - James Frawley
3 - Jared Rivers

You can make anything you like of stats but here is an interesting one.
how many games have we lost by 9+ goals over the last 4 year. Below is the result from my investigation
2008 7
2009 6
2010 2
2011 7 with 4 games to go.
So this year we are equal to our bottom out year and we still have 4 games to go, sunday could easily add another.
looks stark against last year.
What it clearly says to me is that we have gone backwards in a big way.
To have as bad a year as 2008 is amazing.
Any thoughts?
And then the win/loss ratio...3 out of 22 in 2008, 7.5 out of 18 in 2011.
We're still winning games. I blame the inconsistency on our leadership group, if that exists. It's normally only a few players under 23 who can hold their head high after a big loss.

I'd have Bail up against West Coast.

I think he's overhyped. He's two years ahead in development compared to other key position players, being 197 cm and 96 kg. I haven't seen too much of the draftees this year but I'd imagine he'd be way too big for the other under 18 defenders to handle, hence his dominance so far.
But he's definitely got the tricks to make it.
