  1. I reckon that Neeld has been using the first half of the season to work out who is putting in and who isn't, and that you will see Couch brought into the team for the second half of the season; wouldn't be surprised to see Cook given a run as well... in fact, I think we will see both Couch and Cook come in for games against GWS and GCS.
  2. Well, we missed him and there is no point in dwelling on it. At least they learned their lesson and went hard at Clark and got their man. I expect that following the supporter meeting and the comments regarding their looking for a big forward, they will be doing the same this year with Cloke.
  3. jimcor... I hadn't realised Hodge had jumped ship to be with us... can I assume you meant Howe? ;-)
  4. Don't kid yourself... the way we are traveling at the moment, anyone can look good playing against us.
  5. Firstly, thanks for vindicating my original post simma. Every club no doubt has players that are at odds with their coach as that no doubt comes with the territory as far as being dropped for not performing or for breaking the leadership group's self imposed rules etc goes. However, not every team is coming from ground zero with an almost entirely new coaching group, new game plan (did we even have one before) and more distractions than anyone could imagine (even other coaches and media pundits have been saying Neeld has had the initiation from hell). Perhaps we are performing poorly simply because we aren't good enough yet.
  6. Jared Rivers kills off rumours about rift between players and Neeld: http://www.afl.com.a...36/default.aspx I now await the multitude of posts claiming that Jared is simply toeing the company line.
  7. Be thankful you aren't a Doggies supporter :-)
  8. After living in Highbury New Park, just around the corner from their ground for almost a year in the mid 70's, I learned to hate Arsenal supporters and by association, the club. Their supporters (at that time at least) were the Collingwood supporters of London.
  9. Also a great movie and a great book.
  10. I agree with rjay... this really appears to be a case of damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. Everyone criticises Sheehan for his comments and the fact he offers no solutions, then when he does outline what he sees as being wrong with the club and where changes need to be made, he is lambasted because he hasn't come up with any wildly original or new theories. The other thing that annoys me is the fact that because he is a supposed Dees supporter, this somehow gives this club immunity against criticism from him; he becomes yet another "class traitor" like Judd and Scully etc Seriously, we have some of the most well balanced supporters in the AFL (a chip on each shoulder).
  11. Why is it a good idea? What do we know about his coaching abilities? Everyone touted Voss as the next super coach because of his great form as a player... remind me, how are the Lions traveling? What is the aim that we are leaving no stone unturned in the pursuit of?
  12. You had better prepare yourself for "substance abuse" after a post like that. I actually find it funny like yourself, that people can demand Royal be given the axe with no real substance behind their demands, yet they are happy to have Ling, a completely untried and unknown quantity, walk into the mids coaching position...can just see it in one or two seasons time if that eventuated; the same usual suspects would be demanding Ling's head on a platter and still not grasping the idea that it might, just might, be something to do with the playing group.
  13. Going to get rid of Trengove as well? He's done not much either for a #2 pick. Thank christ selection committees don't visit these forums for advice. Some of you people no doubt are baying for blood if you spend longer than 5 minutes in the queue at McDonalds.
  14. We;re going to need a bigger headquarters if we get all of the people that are being suggested :-)
  15. Tell that to Rivers who regularly puts his body on the line. It is possible to argue that Neitz only became the forward he was because of his "apprenticeship" in the back line where he could develop some genuine hardness... hopefully, that is their thinking with Watts.
  16. Have to say I'm rather surprised that a few are leaving Jones out or placing him low on their lists... a 29 possession game including 4 tackles, 6 marks, and again very very effective... I only recall seeing one ineffective disposal (errant kick). (and yes, I know it may appear from my avatar that I harbor a "manlove" for the Jones boy, but in actual fact, it's just a photo I took during training in Shanghai that happens to be my favourite football related shot) :-)
  17. Shouldn't you be putting in your own selections? 6. Jones 5. McKenzie 4. Rivers 3. Blease 2. McDonald 1. Frawley
  18. Lighten up Mono... it was just a tongue in cheek dig. But I don't accept the "fitter, stronger" excuse... every team has a pre-season and ours was directed more at improving fitness, strength and endurance. We are still quite slow and I'm really not sure if that is just because they really are slow or if they are just being lazy. Blease has been a breath of fresh air.
  19. Maybe winning one quarter of football per game is their latest KPI?
  20. Well we cannot complain about that idiotic effort of Garland's in giving Betts a free shot for a goal.
  21. It's called gamesmanship, they all do it. As for Robinson having a go, I thought it was funny that he went for the wrong guy anyway.
  22. I'm Foxteleporting into the game today.
