  1. For me, the jury's still out of Sellar... every now and then he does show something, and I think a coach like Roos may just be the person to be able to bring out the necessary consistency. As I said, more for depth, but with the right tutelage, who knows?
  2. I just picked up the triple bluray set of Mad Max 1, 2 & 3 from Amazon UK. - MM3 is a dud, but 1 and 2 make the set worthwhile. Other Australian movies not yet mentioned that I like are: The Last Wave, Cars that Ate Paris, Picnic at Hanging Rock, Ten Canoes, Romper Stomper, Bad Boy Bubby, and Ghosts of the Civil Dead.
  3. We also need depth for our back line... who comes in if Frawley or Garland go down? I think the delistings will be Couch, Magner, Tynan, Bail, Nicholson, Gillies and maybe Tynan and Davis... as well Rodan, MacDonald and Davey who have retired - that gives you 11 changes already. I see Sellar as being a little like Jesse White and maybe worth persisting with. And after watching Jetta on Sunday, I think he still shows some promise.
  4. I think Jetta will remain and a remote possibility Sellar will be kept as depth.
  5. Apparently the last words heard were: "Who ordered the Flaming B52"'s"
  6. So you are saying your source is one of the OTC presenters? If that's the case, how come you had trouble deciding whether it was OTC or AFL360? Sorry, but I am having a lot of trouble giving too much credence to your posts.
  7. They should never have put Randy Newman and Mr Big on the same bill!
  8. If they combined it with that other favourite activity involving dwarves, would it be "flame throwing"?
  9. Roos: "Did I say Bhutan? sorry, I meant Laburnum... I'm always getting those places mixed up!"
  10. I think that was Wednesday this week... Roos is talking about next week.
  11. He said he will not make an announcement before, or at the BnF (that is about 2013 and the players celebration), but if PJ gives him a time frame (eg, by Friday) he would make his decision... so I think Friday or Saturday as I have been saying previously.
  12. Apart from saying he will reach a decision by Tuesday next week, he is saying nothing we don't already know.
  13. He's giving nothing away at all... no different.
  14. Well, in Demoneyes favour, the info display for OTC on Foxtel starts with "Find out whether Paul Roos has accepted the Melbourne coaching job", but really, I cannot believe he would make a definitive statement and pre-empt what should be a major press conference by the club.
  15. Of course it will be discussed on OTC... that's a given. But I will be extremely surprised if any more info is given out... just more nudge nudge, wink wink, a nod's as good as a wink to a blind bat etc etc They might even discuss how his wife is interested in pho...tog...raphy, candid photography... know what I mean. I doubt very much we will be any more enlightened... unless you want to give yourself more credibility by telling us in advance what is likely to be the ghist of their conversation.
  16. Watch what on Fox Footy? AFL360? On the Couch? What exactly should we be watching and what will be said? Obviously it won't be an announcement of his signing and a press conference would not be announced until the day... so what exactly should we be looking/listening for? A furtive glance from Gerard directed at Roos? A nod and a wink from Mike directed at Roos? Give us a hint. Personally, I think you have no idea... after all, it's not as if they weren't aware that mad Monday was coming. My thought is that it will be announced on Friday or Saturday, based on recent history (Bailey and Neeld appointments).
  17. Too true... but you have to admit, it's nice to be able to get excited about something MFC related for a change.
  18. I think if we see a Jack Watts has re-signed item from the MFC, then it could be safe to assume that Roos has also signed on. Will be interesting to see which comes first.
  19. If Neeld's appointment is anything to go by, it was on the Saturday following the Bluey (Saturday 17th Sept - Bluey was on the 13th)... not sure what date the Bluey was presented in 2007, but Bailey's appointment was announced on Aug 31st (a Friday), so there could be a pattern based on which I would expect an announcement on either Friday or Saturday.
  20. Otherwise known as the "Cat's PJ's"
  21. Quick, hook the DeLorean up to the old clock on the town hall, otherwise we'll lose him!
  22. Don't tell me, you hit the ouija board over the weekend?
  23. I was about to say the same... and he/she claims to be well connected.
  24. Considering the form the Doggies have been in over the past few weeks, considering we lack a real midfield and considering we were virtually without a forward line, we did much better than could have been expected. I think Roos will be very happy with what he has to work with.
  25. No more comments like that please... Completely unnecessary!!!
