  1. Aren't HG & Roy doing commentary on ABC sports radio?
  2. I get the feeling this will be a major boil-over (hope I'm wrong). Hawks by 60+. Edited to add: Norm Smith = Sam Mitchell First Goal: Luke Breust Most Goals: Gunston.
  3. Perhaps you've accidentally stumbled on a solution to the refugee crisis here WYL... every scumbag found guilty of committing a violent act against a woman could be shipped offshore to Manus (or dropped off the boat en route) and a refugee granted a residential visa.
  4. Haha... I couldn't discern goals from games... well they do both start with 'g' and end with 's'. Corrected... but I'm still surprised.
  5. I was actually very surprised to read he has only played 14 games.... that's how much of an impression he made on me, which is miles ahead of Matt Jones and the impression he's made in his 51 games. Aaron's disposal efficiency will improve and already his hard at it contesting of the ball probably sets up enough plays to our advantage to negate his current failings.
  6. That's you... but give that Freo bogan a skinful and he'll punch your lights out if his team's not doing too well.
  7. It's not simply a reaction to that incident. I have long thought that alchohol at sporting events like the footy where emotions can run high, is not a great thing. I enjoy a drink or several as much as the next person, but for me, I'd rather not see it at the footy. Are you telling me that people couldn't survive three hours at the footy without a drink? At least a pub is a relatively controlled environment... something that the footy most definitely is not.
  8. There were also a couple of unsavoury instances aimed at Hawthorn players... particularly bad was the guy getting into Breust after his nasty collision with the fence: https://twitter.com/BigVicTIA/status/647392803589242882/photo/1?ref_src=twsrc^tfw
  9. I didn't see this post until I had already written my thoughts in the Finals thread; I will repeat them here: You've just got to love the Freo supporters... particularly the guy in the number 10 Freo jersey who started abusing anybody and everybody and when approached by a woman who told him he was ruining it for the kids, punches her in the face. Seriously, there is a very good case for banning the sale of alchohol completely from these kinds of events. I hope the guy does jail time considering all of the publicity the violence against women campaign has been receiving lately... there is absolutely no excuse!

  11. Yes, I can't stand Lyon, but I do feel a little sorry for Pavlich who deserves to go out on a high.
  12. So when does the Essendrug case go before the courts?
  13. While I don't necessarily agree with the line you bolded (I think Nicky Winmar's raising of his jumper made him possibly a greater icon), Goodes will certainly go down in AFL history as one of the greatest. As far as the your statement regarding the fawning over Goodes being pathetic, it is light years ahead (in worthiness) of the constant belittling of Goodes and his achievements; now that IS pathetic.
  14. As I said earlier... I thought they were totally inept. Poor kicking, poor decision making, terrible defence for the most part and nothing happening up forward.
  15. The Swans simply did not deserve to win that game... a totally inept performance. Over-umpired in the second half after they let it go in the first half. Pretty ordinary game for the last three quarters.
  16. Is there a possibility we may take him in the rookie draft like we did Jetta? I would love to see that happen.
  17. Perhaps the fact that he and others chose to stand directly in front of it without requesting or enforcing its removal? Guilty by association :-)
  18. And look at the trouble that got them into.
  19. Max has finally hit his straps as a footballer and I can only see him being on an upwards trajectory from hereon in; if he maintains and builds on what he was showing in those last few games, it is not inconceivable that he could make AA ruckman in the next year or two. Beyond his onfield performance, his encounter with my son at training prior to round 23 and at the end of that same game has convinced me that he is also a great representative for the club at a public level. Big Max can do no wrong in my book.
  20. Watching the Bomber Diaries on AFL360 tonight and Bomber mentioned that Brendan McCartney had told him he believes there is a lot of upside to Jack Watts. Bomber was of the opinion that he should stay with the MFC... he made a fair comment in that you don't need every player to be combative (can't recall exact words) and that Watts has the skills that make him worthwhile persisting with.
  21. What's more ridiculous if that scenario pans out, is that two Western Australian teams have to travel across the country to play each other in Melbourne, with the added downside that the supporters in their heartland have virtually no chance of seeing them play other than on TV.
