No offence to you, but it’s absurd to think that no-one in the FD reviewed that game. It’s just not realistic. There are degrees of review, but to think it wasn’t reviewed at all is crazy.

Game hasn’t even started and Ling is already broadcasting his ignorance perpetuating the myth that the prelim final wasn’t reviewed.

I have my third positive feeling going into a game for the year. The previous two have been Sydney and Hawthorn so I’m looking to keep a 100% strike rate. I was nervous going into last week and the performance justified it. No Melksham will make it tough but Preuss and Bull Smith being the strongest performers in the VFL gives me hope that we can cobble something together which will see an improvement on our 33% inside 50 conversation rate. Whether or not we win, I have a feeling we’ll be more competitive than is widely expected. If we do win, it will be the best win of the Goodwin era given our injury list.

You seem to be absolving Clarry of blame. Clearly this is not all about our dysfunctional forwardline. Look at his kicking on the weekend. It was atrocious, as it often is if we’re going to call a spade a spade. The guy is a jet and does have the ability to kick well, but the continual throwing it on the boot and hoping for the best has to end at some point. It’s not working.

Well, I just watched the replay. Hard to know what to say about what I just witnessed. It’s actually amazing that we have 3 wins playing like hot garbage. There were culprits everywhere but Stretch and Oliver in particular should be embarrassed by some of their ball use in the forward half. Absolutely ridiculous for AFL players to be kicking the ball like that. We now have the worst conversion from inside 50s since the stat has been collected. If historians ask how that happened, they need only watch a replay of that game. Shameful. Fix up the skills for god’s sake.

We can’t ever lose him. “Except for Salem” is an important element of “we have no-one who can kick except for Salem”.

I was watching Endgame while this was on. Sounds like I missed a classic. 4 points is 4 points?

It was a slow death hastened by the Lyon/Brownless fiasco and once Newman left it was on borrowed time. People who watched TFS didn’t watch it for niceties. They watched it to listen and laugh at the old dinosaur being revved up by Lyon, Brayshaw and the like and revel in the political incorrectness. That and the success of a genuinely funny show in The Front Bar were the final nails in the coffin.

Two games from two years ago? Not sure that tells us much of anything. I don’t see JKH or Corey Maynard dominating allcomers at the state level. Maybe I’m not imagining hard enough. I’m not advocating for a Trenners return, partly because there is next to no chance of that happening, but his form surely warrants another roll of the dice when half your team is out injured. I am now quietly hoping Port get thrashed this weekend.

Decided to have a looksy at how Trenners is doing in the SANFL. Leading the league for disposals and DT points. 2nd in the league for clearances. 3rd for inside 50s. 4th for tackles. He’s killing it. If he doesn’t get named tonight with all of Port’s outs including some of their inside brigade in Wines and the like, it’s hard to imagine it happening. Hopefully another call up isn’t far away. He’s doing everything possible to get one.

Well, it kinda is. We’re talking about the here and now. I trust you don’t have any ready replacements for them. Not every player has to have “x factor”. Nibbler certainly isn’t in the team for that. He’s in there for his work rate which the coaches clearly appreciate. Jeffy took a couple of low percentage options on the weekend but if you look at the body of work, he clearly makes our forwardline a more dangerous one. I know there’s a common dislike for Nibbler and Garlett but you could at least pot them after a bad game. Their contributions on the weekend were solid. I read he’s not being sanctioned which I think is the right move, especially if there are extenuating circumstances. The fact is he’s an important commodity. He’s gone against team rules/expectations so it’s a strike, but putting an arm around him is the best way to go. May at his very best goes a long way towards making us a contender.
