Its nice to know not just you, but it seems like most of us have the same opinion. I used to go week in week out rain hail or shine to watch the 2nds,then look forward to Robbie playing on Keith Greig, Biffen on Hudson. Barassi on Harrison. And numerous others. It was the matchups that made the game more attractive, could Greig beat Flower, if not Melbourne would be a chance of a win,along with the other matchups all over the ground. The scuffles off the ball, man on man. one trying to get the better of his opposite opponent. Hughes on Lockett, hoping Lockett wouldnt tear him a near one. In the 70's we were crap, but the players didn't need to be spoon feed on how to play. They were told how to stop their opponent,theres a difference. Now there are 36 players all up one end of the ground, maybe I'm just getting to old for change. But listening to the games on the radio just isnt as good any more. I'll all for improvements, but I fail to see any to keep me interested. Of course winning glosses over all these faults that have been posted. Who really gives a rats when you are winning. But the way the game has envolved over the last 5 years or so hasnt helped me get exicted on most of the changes to the game.

I hope he is right. But I've been doing this for longer than I care to remember. It wont be long before I wont be able to remember. The next of the year will be better, then its next year we will be right, Before you know it 6 yrs later I still wait.

If we were sitting firmly in the 8 I would still agree with 80% of the above. Its not sour grapes because we suck, they (AFL rules commitee and their MRP) all suck. They have ruined this game.We have tried to bring in a brand of football in the Bailey era where we tried not to hurt anyone (Thanks M.Robinson -Carl) and got canned for it. Perhaps we were ahead of our time? The way its heading, we may as well play touch footy. The hardness we carve to watch as players throw themselves in to get the football is dead. If I want to see a fair but decent shirtfront or someone get hit hard but fair, I hope the museum sets aside a viewing area on how it used to be played, when footy was hard, tough but fair. This chipping backwards and farting about is killing this game as a spectacle. (its killed me) Its great for the stats, but the only stat I ever cared about was the one where we scored more pts than the opposition,and got the 4 pts for a win. I don't care if player X or team just created a world record in possessions.. We cant be far off bringing in the offside rule. *sigh* There was a sling tackle yesterday, cant remember what teams, but I will be on the edge of my seat waiting to see that outcome. (Trenners paid the price),because the player slung didnt get knocked out, it will probably be a slap on the wrist. Fyfe's accidental clash of heads is a complete joke! Should I go on??? I could ,but wont. You know when you have hit an all time low, when you are watching the top teams play and enjoy it. Then to add more hurt you no longer give a stuff about our games. In years past it was a sin to watch any game that didnt involve the Dees.

Hi Smithy, I do remember asking you when requesting confirmations prior to last season ending, if were playing this year,you were undecided. And you didnt put your name forward when the 2014 thread started up. No biggie. You do not need to be invited to play, or join a league. You and anyone just need to post an expression of interest or confirm you want to be added to a league. The invite (league code) is sent via PM to make sure the correct players get into their correct league. I hope that clears up any confusion. I'll probably call for confirmations near this seasons end from the existing players from all leagues to get an idea of how many leagues need to be reserved and it also helps getting a heads up on who will be returning in 2015. Based on 'Total Season Points' scored for the season. The Legends League will always remain a 'ranked' league based on Total Season Points (depending on the number of teams playing) 1: The highest 'Total Season Points' scored in a lower league replaces the team with the lowest 'Total Season Points' in the next highest league. 2: Grand Final winner replaces 2nd lowest 'Total Season Points' team in next highest league. I was there for the 1st half, Tapscott wasnt doing anything to impress me. Perhaps that improved after the break, Jetta and Big Max were doing well. I still like the look of T.Davis.

For those sweating on how you are going to get kicked out of the Stynes league I'll Post how the promotion system will work, I'll do that prior to our SC season fixture when they sort it out. Its been passed through the Senate, so I feel confident that as confusing to some as it may be, its not too hard to understand once you read it a 1000 times.

Yeah right, when hell freezes over. I grew up as a kid in Sandringham. played footy at Beach Oval. We moved in my mid teens. I was asked would I stop supporting the Zebs because I dont live there? Not a chance. My cousin played a few senior games, and another cousin played in their U19s. I still went and watched Sandy play years and years later,when I could. The final nail was when the aints moved in. We got into bed with Casey. Tough choice when I heard, but now its stuff Sandy, Go Scorps. Anything along those lines would be the only reason why I wouldnt barrack for the Dees. My left side of my body bleeds blue blood, the right side red blood. I'm going down with the ship. Or climbing aboard the reality bus. I will never desert. They owe me. I want to be around to cash in.

I did some comparsions between Richardson and Clark. Same injury (or close enough too it)Both were approx 25 yrs old when they did their foot. Both around the same height and weight. So one would think recovery time for a big man would be approx around the same length of time for recovery. Richo in 2000, played Rnds 1,2,4 then missed the rest of the year. Then in 2001 played every game. 2002 missed a handful of games and the same again in 2003. I assume as he reported himself, he then had problems with hammys. After 2003, didnt really miss a beat, until 2009, then retired. Clark did his in 2013 played Rnds 1.2.3.4. Hasnt played since. Using Richo as a guide, one would have hoped to see Clark back for the 1st game this year. BUT, throw in the complications of the screw in his foot, plus the fact he tried to come back too early, and then played with discomfort. We could guess, and say that has added a few more months to his time on the sidelines. If Richo missed almost a year, and he didnt have any of the trauma Clark suffered after the OP. Using that as a guide I would give Clark until mid season. Regardless of the spin the club puts out, as I dont think they are 100% sure themselves. They can only go by what Clark says on how he feels. From all reports Clark is suffering from minor setbacks to get back playing. We need him playing at his best,he will make a huge difference up forward. But I'm resolved to not seeing him before mid season. I dont see why he needs to be playing until he can get through a number of training sessions without discomfort, niggles, and hamstring probs. If he is where he is at mid season, as he is now, one might say his future playing career is looking bleak. I havent written him off yet, in the meantime we have options up forward. It gives Hogan and Co time to work out game strageties. I only hope the club hasnt given Clark time away from the club to think about his future. I doubt that, a fit Clark and Co will destroy opposition defenders. While we wait on Clark, the midfield etc can improve their delivery inside 50. After all these years I'm used to setbacks, disappointments and tragedy. It comes with being a Demon supporter. (now FFS, can it end! no more setbacks etc)
