  1. What do all those players who get shopped around by their Clubs think about the value of loyalty?
  2. That sounds more like delayed gratification, but I wouldn't be complaining
  3. Too much? Excluding a duplicate post, only 2 or 3 posts have either been moderated (deleted or edited) in this thread. Anyhoo.
  4. What's your threshold? Will you jump ship to another team or just stop supporting Melbourne?
  5. Good to see Fitz debut. Joel Mac has come in for Scully, apparently.
  6. Absolutely. Opposite end of the ground to Leon might be the go, though.
  7. Yeah, crazy talk that he has to go there. Do we take Newton around everywhere?
  8. A bit harsh, but fair; Bate's no mystery. Haha :D Not having to move states is a big deal.
  9. If you want to trade a player for something decent - as opposed to just getting him off the books or cutting a cancer out - you need to do so when he has value, not when he looks like he's no good...
  10. Yep. I think his comeback is a great story - I really mean that - but I don't think we should draft him this year.
  11. How stupid are you to have a bet on the team you coach, particularly after players have recently been fined/suspended? It's quite astounding. As an aside, from next year the MCG won't have any odds on the scoreboard. They're taking some principled stand. I don't think the two approaches are logically inconsistent. The AFL is saying to people not working in the involved organisations 'sure, have a bet', but saying to people in the industry 'it's not on for you'. How is that a confused message? You're at best an idiot for betting on footy when you're a player/Coach, and at worst you're delberately taking advantage of privileged information.
  12. Nine games, was it? That's a good effort. Good VFL player.
  13. The members who are oldest now will be dead by then.
  14. No. Yes. I think everyone does. On what I've seen, he shouldn't be voted in though. Yes. He would be able to, or at least to some extent. Yes. If he trains and plays well enough in the pre-season/NAB Cup there's no reason why he wouldn't play.
  15. I haven't paid any attention to how he's been going, but he could have been dominating in the VFL and yet not be rated in the Liston because he missed a lot of the season, couldn't he?
  16. Really? Better now than 2007. We've at least had the chance to bottom out, and Clubs trying to do so now will find it more difficult due to the compromised nature of the draft etc. By the way, I really don't get how these Scully threads get so big. I don't read them much, but it seems like they're maintained by the same core group of Scully-thread posters posting the same stuff over and over. Surely it gets tiresome? Anyhow, each to their own I'll get interested in the discussion once there's a decision.
  17. The answer is 'virtually none', given that those who have an AFL Membership simply 'nominates' their team when they sign up and thus becomes is part of the officially recognised membership tally of that Club. Unlike the MCC membership, it costs nothing extra for AFL members to become a member of their Club.
  18. Totally. He's a super talent.
