  1. Same. Joel Mac has some attributes I like but he's a fringe player with little upside compared to other guys I rank ahead of him.
  2. Bail will be a handy 'in', given he missed much of the season.
  3. I thought I read about it before then.
  4. I thought it was pitch-perfect for the corny one-liners offered on CSI Miami. Anyhow, nothing wrong with a podium finish, especially as a late entrant. I'm waiting for yours, Nasher!
  5. Over to you: www.karolinagames.com/horatio/
  6. If anyone else wants to make their own Horatio cartoon, here's the link: http://www.karolinagames.com/horatio/ Just type in your text and you're all set.
  7. My point was two-fold. Firstly, that it was extremely ironic that you were bemoaning the lack of reserved seats being used when you have a bunch of reserved seats that don't end up getting used. Secondly, your own anecdote about why your reserved seats were often vacant undermined any link you were trying to draw between the number of people leaving reserved seats vacant and the passion of Melbourne supporters. As your own anecdote indicates, plenty of people buy reserved seats with the intention that they won't necessarily be used each game. As an aside, having reserved seats sit vacant is in no way unique to Melbourne's reserved seating areas, in case you thought it was. I'm not sure if you're familiar with ticketing at AFL venues (I'm familiar with ticketing at a few here and interstate), but many, many reserved seats are left vacant each week (and this includes not just 'season' reserved seats, but also reserved seats that are pre-purchased for that particular game). Don't take my word for it though; The Age had an article about the AFL's push for reserved seating and the negative imapct on crowds as the sport section's 'editors pick' featured article for a few weeks (or longer). Of course it was deliberate; I deliberately quoted the parts I was replying to since they were relevant to my post.
  8. Haha, I wish I did that deliberately..!
  9. Definitely Newman; there's no love for BB on this Board.
  10. Yeah, I have no idea how it's possible that most weeks there could be less than 50% of the members in the members section. PS. Note that I'm not the one shaking their head at people who have forked out for memberships and aren't sitting in their seat; you are.
  11. Each team gets a bye. One thing bb may have been alluding to, or is at least relevant, is any difference in costs/revenue. What do we get out of corporates, signage, etc versus at the 'G? What does it cost us to send 35+ people up to the NT? etc. That has to be taken out of the $400K you mentioned.
  12. Offered the MFC Presidency? Ridiculous. I wouldn't offer Kennett our used toilet paper*. *In case you're wondering, I believe that when we want to cut costs we just use Denham articles.
  13. I get the feeling a few Demonlanders think he's the Newman of the Melbourne Football Club (and I'm not talking about Chris Newman).
  14. Ah-ha! Yeah, I'm not sure he'll get a shot somewhere but stranger things have happened.
  15. Why do you doubt that he would? If I didn't have any evidence to the contrary I'd doubt that he wouldn't want want a crack at AFL somewhere else...
  16. Haha. Anyway, I hereby award you with the title of Demonland's #1 Cameron Bruce Defender (no pun intended).
  17. If Lenton's comments are to be taken on face value then Caddy (and every other player he manages) should fire him.
  18. I don't know that Bruce lost much. Sure, he's no longer a one-Club player, but I doubt his reputation is tarnished much. Maybe he could have played on longer at Melbourne but I'm not convinced. Furthermore, he took a crack at moving to a Club that was in contention and now won't die wondering. There was no chance at all of a flag with Melbourne in 2011 (or 2012).
  19. He's gone. That said, he was a little unfairly maligned. In contrary to the view that he lacked heart, his chasing and workrate were pretty good in recent games. However, he always looked like a player who lacked the confidence at AFL level to make it in the big time (regardless of whether he had the talent).
