On a similar vein, apparently in Watson's recent book he recounts a sledge he made about Stuart Law. Watson suggested Law was not a very likeable character and brought up the fact he never played Test cricket again after his one knock of 54* in a winning Test.

You could fit Frawley, Garland, McDonald and Davis in the same backline.

Col Sylvia suspended for Round 1, 2012

Short-term pain for long-term gain. It's not just a message to Sylvia; it's a message to the entire playing group. The size of the fine is limited afaik. No (at least, not according to the Club). -
For sure. I like him, but I hope he's more than the next Simon Buckley.

9/11...Where were you when you heard??

Hah. Reflection is so often short-lived. -
Needs to use the footy better before I'm convinced.

Sheedy has always been good at getting in the paper. This is no different.

Good call by Neeld and the club. Nab cup is meaningless so it had to be home and away. Not only does this send a message to Sylvia, but it sends a message to the entire team. -
13 wins; both the Richmond games (+1 win), split the Saints games (+1 win) and a win over the Lions at the Gabba (+1 win).
-
^ Absolutely. That's why this trade talk is way too premature.

I like Spencer's efforts but worry about his skills and coordination. I reckon Gawn is a more likely prospect but I can see Spencer carving out an AFL career. We'll see.
-
Jamar's injury was the making of Martin. If he can get dangerous when he goes forward he'll be super good.
-
Some people are getting way too excited about Gawn right now. Jamar is still far better than Gawn and will be for the foreseeable future. I think Gawn is a really exciting prospect but he's still a long way off, so let's not count our chickens before they hatch.

I'm a fan. He can bring us some pace and class that we sorely lack. I'd like to eventually see him further up the ground, but a HBF is fine for now.
-
I reckon it's pretty good. We play just two games at Etihad and one is against Freo. The teams we play twice should be around our level or worse, so it's pretty kind in that respect.

That's wittier than I expected from a Brad Green tweet. -
Jetta does not have pace, unless he's that unfit (in AFL terms) that he's pretty much always out of gas and therefore can't show it.

Just a reminder: Play the ball and not the man. -
Tough season, and the next one is make or break. I can't see him up forward (BP even wrote on the Club's website that, breaking into the team as a small forward, he had been played out of position) and there are a bunch of guys further forward in the midfield queue. I don't see him making it, but we'll see. There are attributes to like, but not enough for me to think he's a better chance than a bunch of other guys.
-
Judd's Grandmother told me he's signed a deal with them already.

What makes this so different to anything else he'd already done? -
I was wondering if anyone would pick up on this old chestnut...
