  1. Imagine how the phone call to Roos would have gone when the club rang to say Jesse Hogan hurt his knee at training then paused and said he will only miss 1-2.
  2. Well times must be tough in the hird household. Must be cutting back on costs. In the sun today they reported the Hird clan flew Tiger Airways into melbourne from the GC.
  3. Saw the news tonight and they showed training. 2 things which is all they said. Jack Watts looks trim and Chris Dawes hopes to be fit for r1. On a side note it was good to see Dean Bailey rock up to adelaide training in the middle of his treatment.
  4. Has anyone actually seen mark neeld or heard anything about him. Its like he has disappeared. I know he went overseas to do some study but now all is quiet. He was actually a nice guy and yes he may have been a crap coach but I still feel a bit sorry for him. I mean the guy still has to make a living but his reputation has been quashed.
  5. Nathan Jones was on the news tonight and mentioned that Roos is putting less focus on the sports science stuff and doing more on field stuff. Said players who may have been down about themselves now are different players and been given this lift of confidence in them that Roos has installed in them,
  6. Consider the statements this month about James Hird's pay arrangements - our suspended coach is being paid $750,000 for a year in which he is not doing his job. How do you reckon that news was received last week by Essendon members who work at Holden?'' Read more: http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/when-the-bombers-were-great-20131220-2zqrg.html#ixzz2oFPWK7pu Well done on Bill Jennings for having the guts to stand up there and speak on the matter. That quote is correct and im glad James was there to hear that. He also made some other good points. As I have said to essendon supporters, if Matthew Knights did this would they be as forgiving. the answer no
  7. Common sense has prevailed. Geelong back down. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-12-19/cats-backflip-on-training-fee
  8. Little man has missed the point. They might not have been illegal but you still don't know the side effects of the drugs that were injected. Some wernt even meant to be for human use. The nerve of Hird to go to the AGM. He obviously wanted to get his ego even bigger as he knew the deluded faith would clap him. I guarantee 100% if it was Knights in the same position he wouldnt be getting the same treatment and he would have been sacked.
  9. He has got himself into more trouble. Seriously. Ex-AFL star Liam Jurrah charged over car chase
  10. Cans someone please explain something to me. What is the difference between Hird getting the 1 mill up front now to essendon just paying him throughout the year next year. He still ends up with the same.
  11. Im just annoyed its put essendon back in the news again. Mr perfect still thinks he is innocent and mr little still thinks the sunshine out of his backside.
  12. Clubs are now doing Yoga as well. Meditation is great and someone asked him on radio the other day how he relaxes and how he comes across as so calm relaxed and the first thing he said was meditation. He said its the answer to everything. He may need to sneak down and in the rooms and do some during the matches if past results are anything to go by. But its good he is showing the players different ways to do things.
  13. Rhianna has a lot to answer for. Question, why is Josh Gibson in LA surely he would be back at training soon.
  14. Can someone report back on what Bernie Vince is like. Is he a hard worker on the track and is he a nice guy?
  15. Ive never been a fan of Buckley but I like how this season he has just stripped back his list and got kids in. He has got rid of obvious troublemakers such as Shaw and his mate Didak and let Jolly go. Maybe Jolly is right that other players feel the same as him but he won a premiership with this club and I even wouldnt call Bucks a coward.
  16. james harmes ‏@jamesharmes14m Couldn't be happier going to @melbournefc the club iv grown up barracking for and now to be there is unbelievable, #myheartbeatstrue Well at least we know he will be really enthusiastic and motivated to play for us
  17. That just sucks. Poor guy hasnt had a great year. and now just weeks out before christmas he is hit with this. I hope he can get through it.
  18. Yeah I was happy when I read that about all the players doing the walk. He is right. These players live in a bubble and its good to do something for a very good cause. They may learn something as well.
  19. Good to see it on ch10 and 9. Obviously ch7 couldnt be bothered sending anyone to the presser. Nothing on their news about it.
  20. 1. Jesse Hogan 2. Nathan Jones 3. Christian Salem 4. Jack Watts 5. Jimmy Toumpas 6. Chris Dawes 7. Jack Viney 8. James Frawley 9. Jack Trengove 10. Shannon Byrnes 11. Mitch Clark 12. Maia Westrupp Mitch Clisby has taken David Rodan's number. Bernie Vince gets #23 and Dom Tyson gets Col's number 12.
  21. Whats roos like? Is he easy to approach and talk to. He comes across as an easy going approachable guy.
  22. The Paul Roos era at Melb kicks into gear on Wednesday .. Will hit track with troops for first time and face media Tweet from mark Stevens. I hope all media is down there so we can see it on the news.
  23. When do we start pre season and see roos out on the track for the first time taking training.
  24. DELISTED midfielder James Magner has painted a picture of dysfunction and confusion at Melbourne as he attempts to understand his departure from the club. "Having had such a disappointing year, I am sad to probably be leaving the AFL environment, but I am not so disappointed to leave the Melbourne footy club. Bit contradicted dont you think. He complains he doesnt know why he was axed but then says he isnt disappointed to leave. "Put it this way, before the AFL I have never played as a forward in my entire life. "I was playing good footy in the midfield, I came second in Melbourne's 3km time trial, I was leading the clearances, and I was a little dumbfounded to be moved forward considering I had never played there." Its called trying you in a different position. But you obviously didnt want to learn. let me tell you James why you arent in our midfield plans. 1. Roos obvioulsy never rated you 2. You were a rookie and after 2 years they are the first to go 3. We recruited players called Tyson, Vince and Cross. Throw them in our midfield along side Jones, Viney, Trengove and Toumpas and you cant get a spot.
  25. Lets hope he can show that form that he had in r23 against us. Isnt it funny that a year ago neeld was criticised for bringing in older players but no one says anything when roos does it. Im not having a go at roos and I guess the difference is these guys can actually play. But now our midfield looks a bit tougher and finally jones will get some help. The positive thing is he has a good attiude and is very hungry to play
