  1. Ok genius, start naming names - who are we going to target and what are we going to offer?
  2. I trusted the words of a kid that plays for my club, so shoot me. B59, your arrogance is sickening. So what if you could see the writing on the wall and chose to disbelive, as opposed to some of us who chose to believe. What do you achieve by getting this right? What does the Club achieve by $cully leaving? Are we better off without him? Anyone that says we are are kidding themselves. We have lost our Number 1 draft pick after 2 seasons, a pick that we "earned" from finishing on the bottom for 2 years in a row. A player that, in the year he was drafted, was judged the best young talent in Australia. A player that many believe will be the next superstar, which time will tell if this is correct. And in return, we are looking at a pick 15 and 25 or something? You think that's a win for the proud Melbourne Football Club? Do you now think we are better off?
  3. The playing group should not accept this. It is not just one game next season that they will need to make a stand, it is seasons to come. He did the best thing for himself, which in turn, has hurt the Melbourne Football Club, MY football club. The current playing group MUST draw this "line" in the sand. While the sky is still well above us, and will be in the same spot tomorrow, this is a very dark day for the Melbourne Football Club. We need to get Ross Lyon or Mick Malthouse, otherwise I strongly believe we will hit rock bottom for the next decade.
  4. The Club just announced it on Twitter. Will respond later in the day. I'm shattered.
  5. It's just a game they play at family reunions - they didn't realise it actually had a name... Sorry SA readers, couldn't help myself!
  6. So am I correct in assuming you are hinting that the most recent news article, where it is bascially saying that Scully hasn't signed with GWS, you are not agreeing with that, because you still believe all the other articles saying that he has signed, even though the man himself says he hasn't? Sorry if I'm misreading your post.

  8. The amazing part - Brendan Fevola 191cm...
  9. Cancel the watch part, just let nature do what's best. So, should we barrack like hell for the Swans this week? MFC call a presser next Wednesday to announce Ross LYon as coach and Scully hass signed a 4 year deal.
  10. Gold!
  11. The original article from Robinson and Ralph had a bad smell to it in my opinion. For the umpteenth time in this saga, it was full of absolutely nothing, other than Sheedy trying to create more exposure for his brand (which is what he is getting paid to do), and journo's stupidly taking the bait and running with it. There was absolutely no proof that Scully was going to "check out the facilities", and the only one that was claimed to advise him to do so was Sheedy himself! Now we have some words in the press conference from their CEO that are starting to confirm what Tom has been telling us all year. Is their CEO lying? Who knows. But going by the quotes in the SMH, I am growing with confidence by the hour. But I still think one thing is certain, Tom hasn't made up his mind. Credit to the kid if he walks away from what the GWS are offering, and unless it is made public from the MFC what it actually is that we are paying him, it is quite unfair to suggest that we are paying him way over the odds. What was Trengove's recent contract extension worth?
  12. It's a bit like betting Red or Black on roulette, until bloody 0 Green comes up! I'm 98% sure that 100% of the people on this site have absolutely no idea if he is staying or going.
  13. What is YOUR definition of "people close to the Club"? Are they people that would any inside knowledge of what is going on with Tom? Becuase how I see it, unless the people that are close to the Club are in fact Tom Scully himself, or his parents, or his actual manager, I would think they would have absolutely no idea. Schwarz is close to the Club, he's fairly sure (about 98% that is), perhaps he is your source.
  14. Which category do you fit in to Sue - it will help me evaluate your future posts! I'm in the last category fwiw.
  15. Cue HG45's comment regarding the above post...
  16. You can speak for me too Nutbean. I've been of that opinion all season.
  17. I wonder if GWS have actually put a deadline on it? Sheedy would know the longer he goes un-signed, that the $$$ may not have been the deal-breaker that they thought, so all of a sudden he's telling him to come and look at our facilities, and that in 10 years blah blah. Could it be a late attempt to get him to sign? If it doesn't, it could free up more money to throw at someone else. Time's ticking for GWS - if the move hasn't been anounced by this time next week, I think there will be a lot of red faces in the media circles, as well as a majority of posters here.
  18. This is how the article starts... "TOM Scully is expected to visit Greater Western Sydney facilities in the next 72 hours. Scully completed two days of season reviews and is not officially required at Melbourne, so a decision on his future is imminent. The 20-year-old midfielder has received a reported $6 million offer from GWS, and a counter-offer from the Demons, but has been advised to fly to Sydney before making his momentous decision. Scully's management refused to comment... Sheedy said he was not aware of any signings. But he did urge anyone, including players, to visit the Giants' facilities. "We welcome all the AFL plumbers to come and check out Skoda Stadium ... and see where we are at Blacktown," he said." * Neither journalist have been told by Scully's management that Tom is going to check the facilities out. They refused to comment, which to me means more speculation from the reporters more than anything else. * The only source of Tom being advised to check out the facilities is by Sheedy. * The headline should say "Scully tipped to sign with Melbourne". This is based on him being advised by Russell Robertson to stay. There is absolutely no difference in this headline, as opposed to the one they ran with.
  19. Where in the article is it saying that Tom WILL BE flying to Sydney to check out the facilities? It is another nothing article with absolutely no facts. It more sounds like a plea from Sheedy to say "don't sign with the MFC until you come up and see what we have to offer". But, that's been the opinion all year, most read the article and believe he's on the plane, while the minority actually read what is written and realise that there is nothing to suggest anything has changed.
  20. Amazingly, and you will find this hard to believe, I didn't discuss Scully, sorry!
  21. Was mentioned as a potential trade option for the right return. It could be a case of offering one of our "fringe players" plus a last round pick, and in return we get Dixon and a 3rd round pick, or something to that affect. The GC have a lot of KPP/Rucks, they wont be able to keep them all, and Dixon will be 21 next year, with the hope of playing more footy (only played 8 games this year). Perhaps we could offer Spencer, who could be a ready-made replacement for Fraser, which will give them Smith and Spencer to share the rucks.
  22. I know that the Club made an offer to Clarkson, and that is not based on media speculation. The Lyon situation has been aired through the media, however, Lyon's management company have confirmed that Melbourne have expressed interest. Craig Kelly has been quoted on a number of occasions that this is true. He hasn't confirmed or denied if it is the deal that the media are reporting. The one I find interesting is regarding Malthouse, and the fact that everyone (media and some "experts") think Melbourne and Malthouse would be a great match, but there has been no rumours that I have heard that a move has been made by the Club.
  23. Well, there was more than 2 that we really wanted. It is fact that we offered Clarkson a 5 year deal, and it was made public, which led to him re-signing. It has been aired that we have offered Lyon a similar deal, to which he has not yet denied. The only "offer" that hasn't been made public is one to Malthouse. OMR while complained we haven't seen anything, also later suggested that in his mind, the deal had been done. However, you decide to pick parts of a post to suit your insignificant disagreements. The funny part about your earlier post; you mentioned that both Malthouse and Lyon are still involved in the season, so they shouldn't "out" themselves, yet you have been squealing for Scully to come clean all year? Loving your double standards...
  24. So you're not believing this speculation, which let's face it, has quite a deal of legs (in the R Lyon case), in particular with a betting plunge (which is far more than the $130 or whatever some here wish to believe), but you believe the speculatuion that Scully has gone, and criticise anyone that thinks differently? Perhaps you should practice your last piece of advice B59, it would do us all a favour.
  25. Gawn to get 11 in 2 seasons* * Conditions apply.
