It's not worth it hey Macca? I love a disagreement, but when the opponent throws incorrect quotes at you to try and bolster their defence, that's when you see someone's true colours. Then when you challenge them, they throw the "ease up on the agression because it's childish" chestnut. It's laughable, because lying in your argument is far more immature than standing up for what's right.
-
I don't give a rats if someone disagrees with me - it happens more often than not. I dislike your posts, you rarely provide anything constructive, only the constant dribble when you don't like someone complaining about certain players. You call for those posters to stop supporting the club, yet you get all teary when some bite back. Sure, the Melbourne Football Club could do without some of it's so-called supporters (present company excluded), just like this site could do without you.

[censored] weak post PJ. Firstly, the questions were directed at the other poster, but by all means, feel free to answer on his/her behalf given that they are unable to. Secondly, you have quoted a number of things that I have not said. Here they are; 1. I did not support the recruitment of Neeld. My preference was for a tried coach. 2. I have not written Neeld off. The use of the word "hoped" was not intended in the manner in which you have highlighted. I'm no closer to knowing if he will win a flag for us or if he will drive this Club to death with what he has done in his 2 year tenure. 3. I have not commented on the Toumpas/Wines debate. I was vocal in my support for Toumpas, and this remains. But hey, why should we let the truth get in the way of your pathetic post.

Not sure what you've been watching, but so far I'm buggered if I have seen anything over the past 18 months that suggests we are on the right track. I give Neeld credit for removing some of the cancers that were on our list, but at this stage, the cons are far outweighing the pros. Sure, some posters on here are over the top, but they are passionate. It's the ones that want to hold every person of the Club accountable for their actions that I support. For me, the days of getting juiced up over how well our preseason was, who is flying on the track, how many PBs we broke, etc etc, are over. I believe what they are saying, put I look forward to the 2 hours every weekend to provide evidence that I should believe them. After 3 rounds, I am seeing no evidence to suggest that they should be trusted. I just hope that what they tell the likes of McLardy is closer to the truth than what they tell us. I have a feeling the only track you are on at the moment is that of the peace train. Toot toot.

Absolute nothing post, yet you complain about others contributing nothiing. I'd like to know what gives you the confidence to beleive that we are on the right track. At this stage, I think you are putting blind faith in a number of people at the club. But again, that's your decision. I have long said that Neeld has the potential of being the next Melbourne premiership coach, or the last coach of the Melbourne FC, I just didn't know which way it would go, but hoped like hell that it was the former. In terms of me playing AFL, no, I haven't played in the top league. I have played at an elite level in other sports, and I can assure you, if you can get your sh!t sprted personally and know you are doing everything possible to get the best out of yourself, then your voice will be respected by many. If you sit back and whinge about how crap it is but aren't doing your bit, your opinion will not be respected, and so it shouldn't. This could mean that if a poster on here has been a member for more years than they can remember, and attend every game that they can, then they have every right to speak up. As for the membership calls, I live in Queensland. I'm satisfied with the set that I've grown, and by not turning up tonight won't make them shrink in any way.

Any action would be better than your constant head-in-the-sand method Satyriconhome. I admire your constant protecting of players and coaches, but I think it's well past time that you grew a set and demanded more, like the rest of us. You were happy with a half of footy last Saturday? Good for you. The last I looked a game was made up of 4 quarters, not 2. And further to that, even at half time we were behind, yet we applaud? FFS. I cringed at Jones' comments about the first half being "Melbourne football". Chunk, I love your guts, but mate, we lost every quarter, including the first 2 in which we played "our" football. That entire press conference, especially Neeld's "contribution" made me spew. I watched all 14 minutes or how ever long it was, then had to run out and buy a paper to make sure that we had won, such was the attitude of the 2 blokes talking. Given the amount of positive talk, I was amazed that we had lost at all, let alone by 94 points. The only time I want to hear anyone from within the Club saying that we played "Melbourne football" is when we have won every quarter, and our opponents have walked off sore, wounded and their prides bruised. Until then, STFU, work your arse off, and do whatever it takes to get the best out of yourself.
-
You find out why. If they have valid reasons, then you can look at further actions. If they think it's "too hard" under Neeld, then you show them the door.

Where is our next ruckman going to come from?
The Chazz replied to Soidee's topic in Melbourne Demons
Unless Gawn, Spencer or Fitzpatrick come on, I would think the bolded sentence above is right on the money (just not sure about the Pedersen part). -
I think you need to rethink your bets that you make with your wife. I find having to do the dishes much more tolerable if we lose, but each to their own. Although, if it's a long standing bet, you might as well hang in there for a couple more seasons, as it won't be long until the tide turns...
-
I think why they are mentioning that they can't wait until 2pm is because if we are still in the game at that time, we have already improved on 2012.

You are on fire "the master"!

CBFH, this does annoy my a bit. For the first time in my 30+ years of following the Dees, I lost interest last year. Similar to Jako, I had my first child arrive last year, and the year before that had personal events take place that knocked me for six. I used to be able to turn to the MFC for enjoyment - even if we lost. But last year, I just couldn't rely on it, and as a result, I found myself not locking myself in the man cave all weekend so I didn't miss a second of our game. I had other interests, and that helped improve my own life. I had/have devoted my entire life to supporting the Dees, I copped crap growing up generally being the only kid that barracked for the Dees, and that has since spilled in to the workplace. There is no doubt that the day we win "that" flag, a massive majority of the people I've ever dealt with throughout my entire life will say to themselves "I bet billy2803 is stoked". The interest is back for 2013, but it's not as strong as it used to be. Does that mean Don doesn't want my money? Does that mean I shouldn't sind the song after our wins this season? Does that mean I shouldn't celebrate if we were to fluke a finals appearance this year?

Wow, 5 lines of "live" training updates and you've had a shot at 3 different people. I await the rest of your training report with anticipation.

Easily beats Snitzerland, and I think she has All Too Hard covered but not a huge margain. If I owned her? Well, she's raced against and embarrassed Australia's best, with Hay List being the only true star sprinter amongst them. She's won on 3 legs in Ascot. Does she have to travel the world again to prove herself? What about the world comes here?
-
I am amazed that you are questioning my knowledge of horse racing when you have no idea about my personal life. Black Caviar is the Greatest Sprinter of All Time. It is near impossible to compare her to the likes of Makybe Diva, Kingston Town, Carbine or Phar Lap. The weight issue, and the comment about weight being able to stop a train is correct. However, given that they are the rules that we have to play within, what can we do about it? BC is big enough to carry 63kg if need be, and I'd be confident that she would still beat any field that she has encountered in Australia. The win in Europe was a different story due to her supposed injuries. But Biff, I'm not sure what the logic is behind your argument, especially the weight issue. Of course at some stage, you put enough weight on her back and she will be defeated. Wouldn't that rule apply to Carbine, Vain, etc? The idea of handicap conditions is to level the field, not ensure one horse can't win. Which then adds to the Frankel vs Black Caviar argument - if they were to have a match race over 1400m, what weights would the carry? Wouldn't be an unfair advantage to Frankel if thet carried the same? Or would any less weight carried by Black Caviar be an unfair advantage in her favour? But then, why does it have to be run over 1400m? That's not Black Caviar's pet distance. Why does she have to try and run at a distance that isn't where she has made her mark as a true great? Just so Frankle can beat her to try and end the argument? Why not get Frankle to run over 1200m at level weights? There are so many different scenarios, and there is no 1 correct answer. As it is impossible to prove otherwise, my opinion is what I will believe in, and that is that Nelly is the Greatest Sprinter of All Time. In regards to the Greatest Racehorse of All Time, it's hard for me to think of a better one. There have obviously been some amazing performances and amazing careers. Is she "greater" than Makybe? I wouldn't say she was behind her. "Greater" than Vain? What he achieved was truly remarkable, but how can you say it's better than what BC has achieved? Phar Lap? Again, it's too tough to call. All the horses that you are comparing her with are special in their own right. I'm honoured to be around to have seen a couple of true greats.

I always thought he said "Use your Fkn right foot". I think he might've said "Cale, you cost us that fkn goal". Would love to know what he said after that - you can see CM turn around just as he went of of the frame.

What did Dean Chiron do wrong?

Apologies RP, when you say "an" AFL game - does that mean not necessarily a MFC game? You may well be able to get 10k Dees supporters, but I'm buggered if you'll get 10k Casey residents. You can drive the bus around and pick them up, but those numbers won't be sustainable. The non-Melbourne supporting Casey residents would rather travel in to the City and watch their own team. FWIW, Geelong barely get 20k to a game at Kardinia Park against interstate clubs (and Melbourne for that matter). They have a whole town to support them, AND they have been the best team in the past decade. We will not get anywhere near those numbers in our current state, and if we were to improve and play football that brings people to the ground, I know I'd prefer to be playing our home games at the MCG (albeit 2 in the NT). We will have to disagree about this for many years RP, as there is no conclusion coming in the immediate future.
-
In recent times, I prefer to come back for an interstate game because; 1. Try and support the "poorly attended" games 2. We have a chacne of winning I think a lot of people are a long way off the mark with their expectations of our involvement with Casey.
-
Unless things have changed, I thought it was the AFL that would be funding such a stadium, therefore, they would be taking more in to consideration than what's best for the MFC. There would be no way a Melbourne vs <<insert interstate team here>> game at Casey would attract 20k+. In regards to the "no fans around the Junction" comment. That may be true, however, we do have a number of fans in the western suburbs/district that would refuse driving all the way out to Casey. Not only that, I strongly doubt any interstate visitors/members of both MFC and opposition, would fly to Melbourne, then have to travel right out the other side of town, where accommodation is little, it's bloody expensive to get to from the airport, and there's nothing to do out there! Junction Oval has so much more appeal, and is far more realistic. The AFL can work in partnership with Cricket Vic/Australia, they play domestic games during summer, then as of Round 1, it's all AFL. No AFL club trains there due to cricket having summer priority (unlike the days when we were based there and had no goal posts to use, and couldn't use the centre corridor becuase it was roped off). I'm sure CV/CA would love a ground that can hold around 30k, one that is central, has no public transport/parking issues, and that is within close proximity of major landmarks (ie airport, CBD, MCG). They will get the crowds, and importantly, the AFL will get the crowds. I can assure you one thing RP, if a stadium was built out at Casey, there would be minimal chance of me flying back to Vic to go and watch a game there. If there was one at Junction, or in a central location, I'd have no hesitation making a weekend of it. Sure, the AFL/MFC aren't going to cater just for me, but I strongly doubt I'd be on my own with that opinion.
-
If we struggle getting 25k to a home game at the MCG, I can't see how we're going to get 25k at a home game at Casey. From a financial perspective, the idea of playing games at somewhere like Casey would mean that we don't have to rely on getting the same crowd size to make it profitable. I'd imagine a 25k crowd at the MCG would require a 12k-15k crowd at Casey. I still refuse to believe the Casey area is the best location for this boutique stadium. As I said in an earlier post, a total revamp of the Junction Oval precinct would be ideal.

I knew that it would be questioned! Not sure really, it's just a vibe! His brother is alright, just think David comes across as a smart ar$e. Could be a nice bloke if I got to know him, but same could be said for anyone really!

Heard Richard Champion on the radio only a couple of years ago, said he went to a football function in Tasmania that JR was a guest at. Champion said that he (JR) was the biggest jerk he'd met in football, that he couldn't get over how arrogant he was, and that while he was getting paid a significant amount for being there, would refuse to do anything above and beyond what was originally explained, which basically included a set time for signing autographs. I've always thought he is a first class [censored], nothing has changed my mind since, probably more a case of confirming my thoughts. Back on topic... 1. Mitch Robinson 2. David Swallow
