I completely agree with him. Trengove has great disposal, decision making and general polish - without OP. Grimes is a butcher. His kicking has always been suspect.

Just on this, I know it's a simple rumour, but the AFL is quickly becoming the EPL. You only have to look at who Hawthorn have managed to attract in the past five years. The top four teams are miles ahead of the rest and never have problems attracting the top talent. The AFL need to do something about this. Do you weaken the stronger clubs or strengthen the weaker clubs? AD and his money men need to come up with something fast. They have compromised the existing clubs in the name of 'expansion'. The weaker clubs (Bulldogs, North, Saints and the MFC) are looking down the barrel and as far as the AFL concerned, probably at an extremely inappropriate time.

Yeah, I don't like the idea. I understand that could well be the plan with Roos on a two to three year contract, followed by a handover. Roos stayed at Sydney for essentially a decade and then handed over. There's no way our club can be turned around in two years and handed over to an assistant. If that is truly the plan with Roos, I'd be leaning towards Williams or waiting to see if we can snare Clarkson.

See, I'm torn on this. Watts has far more flexibility than Howe. I'd be trading Howe to the highest bidder. Watts' disposal is sublime and we could use him anywhere from half back to the wing to rotating through the forward half. Too valuable for mine. If we've got men that can take marks in the forward fifty (Hogan, Clark, Dawes and say Boyd), what does Howe offer us?
