  1. Still think he'll take less coin to move to say Geelong, but never the less, it's good to hear we haven't given up. I want us to go hard after Prestia again next year. He'll have a year to run on his contract. Would love to land Dangerfield, Prestia and a Sydney mid. We can dream.
  2. Agree, but equally, it doesn't mean he's not worth a 3rd or 4th rounder. Not saying we'll take him though.
  3. Just out of interest. Does anyone know how many years Shiel has left on his contract?
  4. I hope they're level headed, mate. The last thing we want is our blokes stuffing things up just to settle a score. Two words: Kevin Sheedy.
  5. Bernie Vince has gotta be there though. There may not be an equivalent trade available this year.
  6. He's gotta wanna go. Doesn't sound like he does and why would you, unless they were paying you a bucket load.
  7. I've never rated him. But that's just me. Each to their own. He's courageous and has a great pair of hands, but goes missing too easily and often.
  8. It easily gets you Dangerfield too, if we're to believe that another early first rounder is all it would have taken to secure his services (doubtful). We should have traded Howe last year anyway.
  9. Surely, Lumumba will play off the back flank. We have such poor disposers of it at the back that we need a get out of jail plan and that will surely come in the form of a running by/line breaking Lumumba. But I agree to an extent. I think he'll be able to help out the midfield, but it's hardly much, is it?
  10. True. Let's see if Jonesy's loyal first though.
  11. Not one of them will influence our wretched midfield next year. I can understand the displeasure.
  12. Forget FA, mate. Boyd's opened up a pandora's box. It has wide-reaching implications for the competition at large. As it stands we have absolutely no midfield depth. If there's no movement tomorrow, it's going to be another long year. We can't keep expecting these young draftees to come in and tear it up. It's very rare, particularly in sides that are anchored to the bottom of the table.
  13. It's kind of ironic that the FA landscape has seemingly created a new paradigm, yet there's less player movement than for the past four years. The AFLPA'd be happy. This year too, surely/Shirley. If anything we might have a little less next year if we have to pay overs to keep Jones.
  14. It's getting that first star to make the leap of faith. My fingers are still crossed for tomorrow. Yeah, he might be talking positively now, but unless we dramatically improve, there's absolutely no way he'd come to a bottom 4 club. If we get out of the bottom 4 and win 7 or 8 games, we won't be laughed scoffed at next year when we sidle up again. I don't really care what people say, particularly if we'd secured Dangerfield. What if this year's crop of draftees aren't that special? It won't matter how much development we put into them. At least binman can keep his avatar.
  15. More tattoos to hide his lack of integrity.
  16. I agree, mate, but I've no doubt we had a contingency plan(s), so I don't think it'll be a case of merely just taking whatever we can get our hands on. We won't throw the picks away on middle of the road players. They'll be for established stars that we've been vetting or soon to be stars.
