  1. He's already inherited the Hawthorn arrogance. Cannot wait until they fall. And they will at some stage.
  2. This could go either way. If our FD thinks he could really add something, we may pay a 2nd rounder, but I'm hoping we'd say, 'a 3rd rounder or we'll pick him up in the PSD'.
  3. Bunch of meth-smoking miners, aren't they? The guy that shaped to hit Smith looked as high as a kite. Disgusting people. Disgusting behaviour. To be honest, I'd be right behind banning alcohol from games. I never drink at games anyway, because I'm actually there to watch the football. The amount of people that go along just to drink in the bar, it's pointless. Just stay home. Hope that scum wearing the number 10 is severely dealt with.
  4. The MFC let him down to begin with. He let us down last year and earlier, IMO. He just jogged around and just generally didn't give a toss. Fingers crossed for an Eagles flag. Gee, it's slim pickings when you're hoping for an Eagles flag. Then again, I generally hate everyone that's not Melbourne.
  5. I just wonder if they'll go after a new coach. Would there be doubts at board level about Lyon's ability to pull their team into a Grand Final and actually win one?
  6. Great post, mate. Completely agree. I've said it a number of times, but the amount of [censored] our supporters cop for being fair-weathered, yet in a sustained period of [censored]ness, we're still here. The example of our potential that I often cite is the 2004 (?) home & away game against West Coast at the 'G. For some reason I always remember the crowd that day. We had 36,000 people there. We were playing well, despite (I think) losing that game. I'm confident we can be a powerhouse again, we just need the right people in the right positions of power. As you point out, we seem to have some of that now. Which brings me to - Peter Jackson, please sign a five year deal. Thank you.
  7. So really we should be thanking him for going behind his manager's back, shouldn't we.
  8. Haha. This thread's actually pretty funny reading. And as usual, HH has me convinced he's 12 or 13 years old.
  9. We did this a couple of years ago with Neeld and it was a waste. It's akin to Malthouse cutting and running on their forwardline of Betts, Garlett and Waite. It'd be a dumb decision to cut and run on Toumpas. Float him for trade by all means, but if you can't get something decent for him in return (probably part of a package deal), keep him, back him and hope he comes good.
  10. Reckon we'll see Terlich paid out and probably Matt Jones gone too. The latter might be more wishful thinking on my part. Howe will go and Garland is touch and go.
  11. I'm sure this has been mentioned, but think it deserves a re-mention. Another failed attempt by Ross Lyon. His teams always stumble near the final hurdle. He'll never win a flag. I like it.
  12. I wouldn't say no to Gaff of course, but I've gotta admit that if he was the 'big fish', I'd be disappointed.
  13. Wow. So four pages today of tedious ping pong.
  14. I'm hoping Nash has another shower. Maybe that'll help get him over the line?
  15. Lol. As has been said, why would they get rid of Dawes if they've only signed Pedersen for one year?
  16. Yeah, I meant AND. I'd argue there's a bit of risk in it from our end too. Prestia is coming off a knee injury and Bennell could well blow up in a year or two and go off the rails. I think it's a pretty fair trade and there's a chance Gold Coast go from their vice captain seeking a trade, to potentially winning the trade if pick 6 turns out to be a goodie.
  17. If Prestia requested a trade I think they'd jump at a top 10 pick. They wouldn't be happy about it, but it's better compensation than Adelaide'll probably get. I'd take Brad. Think I'd prefer to back Toumpas for another year or two over Matt.
  18. I don't disagree with you about whether Dawes is value for his money or not, mate. All I'm saying is that Pedersen signing a one year deal has very little to do with Dawes.
  19. It gives them both motivation to grab that number 2 spot next to Hogan or risk having their careers cut short by a couple of years. I can't say for sure this is the thinking behind offering Pedersen the one year deal, but if it is, it's a nice strategy, IMO. I wouldn't be surprised if we target a KPF at the end of 2016. We'll need to. I could see our first pick going out the window. That is if we can land one or two A grade mids this off season.
  20. I don't think so at all. I'm not quite sure how you can say Pedersen getting a one year deal reflects badly on Dawes. I think you're the one drawing the long bow. It's more likely to mean Dawes is rated incredibly highly internally and that Pedersen is merely back up at this stage, otherwise surely he would have got a two or three year deal instead...
  21. Took a cracker down in front of me at Simmonds earlier in the year. Took two really good marks that day. Reckon he took 10 to 15 really strong marks all year. Says a great deal, unfortunately.
  22. I don't listen to SEN. Is Anderson known for having any genuine insights/inside information or does he just speculate and report his opinion as fact? He certainly wouldn't be alone. I get the feeling quite a few of them do it.
  23. I'd be quite happy to trade Watts and Howe for pick 6, Prestia and Bennell. If we got a second rounder back, we'd be sitting pretty.
