  1. Glad I'm off to London this week, because I couldn't be bothered sitting through another trade week without landing anyone decent.
  2. Prestia's height should play little part in the discussion. One of the top 5 clearance players in the league when up and going. As if he's not perfect for us. Okay, so he's not 6'4, but who cares if he plays like he does?
  3. Fair enough. Let's change this to 'very little', potentially.
  4. If he doesn't sign next year, what leverage does the GCS club have? Very little.
  5. Pick 6 and Howe should do it if he is keen to move. Otherwise, they risk losing him for nothing next year.
  6. This is a joke surely. What are the club's standards? He'll fit in perfectly with their drug code!
  7. I'll say it again. We must have received word from WADA or the AFL that stipulates he won't receive a ban. Or at least, that it won't occur during the season.
  8. I wonder if we could include Howe in a Prestia trade.
  9. Haha, well, that was a pointless exercise. Except for the money I made, of course.
  10. Toumpas averages more disposals than Melksham, albeit plays less. Not sure it's a great move. But I guess they're pushing Toumpas out anyway, so may as well get something for him.
  11. I suspect you're right. Just a pity we don't look like taking a little bit of a risk here.
  12. Lol, Fitzy taking up a rookie spot would be the end for you? Really? Come on, mate. You've hung around this long, you're not going anywhere.
  13. I think his skill would offset any off season alcoholic problems. He's a guy that could help you win a flag. We talk about aggressive trading. We need to go for natural footballers. He has x-factor, he has pace, goals everything. I'm sorry, but we're not in a position to say no to someone of his class. He's not a killer, he's not a rapist, he took some recy drugs and got on the grog. I hope we're into him.
  14. Does it really matter if it's a rumour or not? It's a discussion topic. Either engage with it or don't read the thread. Pretty simple, really.
  15. I'm done. There was a reason I didn't want to post it here. If I PM everyone I may as well have posted it. Hopefully it'll be revealed soon anyway.
  16. I'd still give up a 2nd rounder for him, but I suspect that'll just be me.
  17. Good bloke. Putting the kids first. Thanks for the service, Millsy.
  18. Good post. The beauty is that although the competition is incredibly lopsided, particularly the top 4 teams, the rest of the competition is actually pretty even. So when the top 4 teams do lose a group at once (see Geelong and soon, Hawthorn too), they will drop out of the top 4. We just have to make sure we're on the cusp of the top 4 when the current crop drop out. Once Mitchell, Hodge and Lewis retire, Hawthorn's midfield will be a distinctively different proposition. We might just be lucky and be timing our run perfectly for the next group of top 4 teams. I think GCS (if they can keep their list together), GWS (the same) and the Bulldogs (if they continue their upward trajectory) will be big players in five years time. I'm hoping we can be the other.
  19. I suspect there was a bit of us pushing him out. But he's undoubtedly made the right decision.
  20. Yeah, so I was wrong. Thought Hawthorn were gone after that first week.
  21. Roos and co got us Brayshaw by continuing to play Frawley, despite his poor form.
  22. I've seen this sentiment around a bit. I reckon Stretch needs to keep playing at the top level. I was really impressed with his form by the end of the season. He's in the Brayshaw and Salem category for mine. Doesn't have the same class, but fits in and plays a solid best 22 role. I'd leave Harmes, JKH and ANB developing at Casey for a season ideally. Reckon ANB will push pretty hard for our best 22 by the end of the year as well. Not sold on JKH. It's a big year for him.
