MFC ranked slowest for ball movement in 2017
Adam The God replied to TGR's topic in Melbourne Demons
I find this staggering to be honest. When we played really poorly (in say 5 or 6 games for the entire year), we struggled with our ball movement. The rest of time, it was very often exhilaratingly quick. Strange... -
Hardwick and co better win a flag for them, otherwise they're in for some real pain in 3-5 years time.

The 7 year deal is hilarious and so very Richmond. Incredibly desperate bunch. Can they even win a final this year? I think it's fantastic for the rest of the competition that Richmond's cap for the next 7 years will be taken up by Dustin Martin.

Melbourne's Communication and Online
Adam The God replied to Straight Sets Simon's topic in Melbourne Demons
I gave it to the club on the Facebook page the other day. Fancy sending out finals emails before Round 23, particularly when we could still miss out and there was a week's break in between. An absolute disgrace. We've been like the Melbourne of old the past week. A rabble once more. Utterly embarrassing. I don't know about anyone else but I've been very quiet on my social media account in the past few months and very humble in our victories. But everyone's been giving it to me for the pitiful exit and now to make matters worse, we have these finals flyers being sent to us in the mail (as well as by email last week). Back to being [censored] embarrassed to be a Melbourne supporter again. Congratulations, you muppets. The whole affair stinks of arrogance and premature backslapping. Hate it and it needs to change. Not good enough, MFC. My family and I attended 17 games again this year, including a limp and insipid Tasmanian showing. It's about time we started respecting the heart and soul of our club - the members. This last week on and off field has almost certainly cost us at least 5,000 new members in 2018. Next time do your job properly, otherwise you can bugger off. -
Would be a good replacement for Frost if he goes. Can play on small or tall, is generally composed and kicks within his limitations, and also provides really good run and carry. It's a yes from me.

Surely, Vince hangs up the boots? An absolute butcher these days. Not to mention regularly exposed for a lack of pace. He's a liability playing back there and not a smart clearance player in the midfield. I'd be keeping Stretch and Wagner, while also looking for a trade for Kent.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever

We obviously think his soft tissue history is okay. Big dollars. I'm excited. Seems like it's happening. Then we can turn our attention to continuing to fix our midfield - this was shown up again V Collingwood. We still lack at least 2 B+/A graders. Oliver, Viney, Tyson, Petracca, Brayshaw, Salem, Jones and Lewis is not enough. We need that pace and class everyone talks about and another bull. Collingwood's midfield should not be beating us, particularly when Gawn is winning the majority of taps to advantage. -

Kew? Sounds like he's on his way to the MFC then! -
Yep, we got on one of those buses too. I reckon we were waiting at least an hour. Really poorly done.

What a waste of time and money. 2 goals in the second half, against the second bottom placed team. Might come back fishing one day, but the ground is a disgrace. Queues and viewing conditions atrocious. Reckon it's a worse viewing ground than Simmonds, so hats off Tassie. I heard someone say we didn't want it. Spot on.

The 10.40am Jetstar flight JQ707 has been delayed by almost an hour. We're now at our third gate. If it gets much later, we'll have to cancel as well.

We're going, but no idea where we're sitting. Going with the family. Flying in, flying out. Never been to Tassie. They tell me it's cold. ?

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - ALEX NEAL-BULLEN
Adam The God replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I wouldn't say I'm a fan yet, but I've been so impressed with the way he's come on this year. I got it completely wrong it seems. Well done, ANB. Humble pie served and eaten. -
Agree with this, but was also exposed on the outside a couple of times. Particularly in the second half. Maybe it's a match fitness thing or maybe sides will try and exploit his lack of pace?

Pick 9 for St Kilda then haha. Suits me. -

Love it, mate. Hope you're right. Reckon we'll win 3 minimum and that should be enough to get us into the finals. Could win more. -
MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 18
Adam The God replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I wonder if our MC are playing funny buggers with some of these selections and there might be a late out or two. -

Yep, his decision making will continue to improve with more games experience. He is near hopeless when he doesn't take on the game, so I'll forgive one (maybe even two) holding the balls (leave it, bitters), as long as he's trying to take the game on. He's a massive asset when he's the rock in the slingshot. -

Great changes. Must be massive question marks over Trenners, but I hope he does well and cements his spot. Thought Pedersen was terrible last week. Wagner was ordinary and Smith looks a mile off to me. -

Gawn plays against Collingwood and they won't get near us. The only reason they played so well against us last time is Grundy dominated that first half. Gawn usually kills him. -
MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 18
Adam The God replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Massive, massive, massive. With Port's run off half back/slingshot key to their game, we won't win without Jeffy's pressure unless every forward lays 5+ tackles and shuts them down. Might sound silly, but stop Port there, limit their midfield and they don't win. -
Hate to use an obvious cliche, but storm in a [censored] tea cup.
