Living in and around Essendon for the past 20 years, I've come to realise that Essendon supporters are essentially an affluent version of the Richmond supporter. Their version of the game is essentially "The umpire is always wrong, everyone is always out to get us, we have a rightful place amongst the greats, the league is grateful of our existence." Being at The Lincoln Arms or Royal during an Essendon game is truly nauseating, with 10-20 of them spreading out across enough seats and tables for 50 people, sipping on red wine and Pure Blonde. Don't make eye contact, no sudden movements. Avoid football small talk with an Essendon supporter at all costs: your eyes will roll so hard into your skull, you'll do a 360 flip. Anyway, Melbourne by 32 points.

Our kicks just always seem to fall short.

This umpiring is something else.

Langdon smoked teammates twice for a low percentage shot on goal.
-
All of their drive has come from intercepts at our CHF. When they don't interceot, we score.

Is the feed cooked for anyone else on Fox Footy? Bottom 10% of the screen is cut off, but then feeds through onto the top. EDIT: Nevermind, fixed

Classic Lobb goal. Out of position. Out the back. Checkside because no left foot.

i remember round 2 2014. Roos' second game. We basically gave up.

Shirley you can't be serious.

All those years carrying North finally catching up.

Grundy was good but he should have been. That's a game he should play well in. Sydney lacked ruck depth today. His performance was as we'd expect. Same as most players. At our best we are hard to beat.
-
We brought it back a lot that quarter. We are beating Sydney in stoppage clearances and contested ball which is a good sign
-
They dominated thay quarter and barely outscored us. Our backline is doing fine. Umpires are ultimately dictating momentum atm. Wait until they put whistles away and see how the game swings. Then if necessary swing Petty back. Both teams could benefit from open forward lines.

Richmond could well be the 2022 Collingwood of 2023. They just defend really well and stay in games. Was the same against Carlton.
-
In a perfect world, both teams lose, fold, and cease to exist. That won't happen, so I will go for the lesser of two evils and barrack for Richmond. May God have mercy on my soul.
-
Neither. Sydney undoubtedly looking more dangerous, have beaten us twice at the MCG... gonna be hard to swallow if we lose to Brisbane and Sydney in consecutive weeks... AGAIN.

If I had a choice between F1 and the game I'd definitely should the GP. I'm not even into F1 but I can appreciate the event and importance of the day. Same with the Melbourne Cup, Aus Open etc. Not into those sports but if I get a chance to go, I take it. You're talking about global events, the best in the world. AFL just don't compare. That said I'll be there on Sunday at the MCG.
-
I just got reserved seats in AFL Members on level 1. Given that, I predict 35k.
-
Might be a long shot, but... Any AFL Members not attending on Sunday willing to pass on their barcode? Have some friends coming along, just need one more code to avoid paying $40 for guest pass. I am an AFL Gold member, well versed in AFL Members etiquette and the like :P

Pies getting a ride in this game. Honestly though they have to be favourites for the flag. They are a very good team.

Life without Max Gawn was going to happen at some point. The narrative was we targeted Grundy for a ruck duo but the reality is we got him for this exact scenario. If it was 2021 or 2022 I'd be pretty devastated for Max AND the team but we literally have the second best ruckman in the league to fill the spot. Rough for Max for whatever the outcome but we are very lucky to have a ready made ruckman to step in.

Blown away..Not even close.

Great timely goal before halftime. We need to turn it on
