  1. That is the most early 2000s thing I've seen in some time.
  2. They're okay. What's annoying is that teams fall into their traps soooopp easilyyyyy. Our second game against them being a prime example. They have 2-3 floaters in space across their defensive 50. They then go forward to an empty forward line with space. Sydney tried today to put their backline under pressure with quick and fast movement. Brisbane put the foot to the throat. Collingwood is very good at sucking teams into kicking it straight down their throats. They love the corridor and basically don't have to contend with backlines because their forwards essentially play as utilities. It's like the triangle offense but for footy. I am really looking forward to playing them.
  3. I have never wanted to play a team more than Collingwood. I wish we were playing them this week. This need a good old fashioned belting.
  4. I had a scarf from 92 that I wore for close to 20 years until 2009 when it was lost in a move, likely thrown out erroneously. I've been wearing my 2010 scarf since. IMO it's the best of the "membership" scarves. Simple design, thick, and long.
  5. The only way to beat both Melbourne and Collingwood is to just bury them from the first bounce. Close contests and they're just too good with too much polish. Surely if both teams are 1st and 2nd come King's Birthday we get 90k+?
  6. Gawn - There when needed Petracca - Some important touches Oliver - Tough but tagged Rivers - Our best driver Petty - Better down back van Rooyen - Great aerial presence Fritsch - Record is over Bowie - Provided good run Turner - Not quite ready McVee - Clean and reliable May - Improved with time Lever - Some late relevance Grundy - No real impact Langdon - Can't get involved Pickett - Hits when needed Sparrow - Career best game Viney - Lifted in last Chandler - Smooth but ineffective Harmes - Brought great energy Brayshaw - Classic Brayshaw's Back Jordon - He's just "there" Hunter - In slow motion
  7. I thought that was a great contest and win.
  8. How the [censored] did they get that.
  9. lol Gold Coast getting a ride. Frisch clearlu held
  10. Where's the replay of that free kick
  11. UNBELIEVABLE handball by Trac. Sparrow having his best game ever imo.
  12. This is actually a great game tbh. Good contest.
  13. When Ellis is tearing you up in transition you know you're in trouble.
  14. If Gold Coast were a half decent footy club with some mongrel they'd pump us by 10 goals. They want it way more. If we switch it on just a bit we win. Gold Coast has a huge opportunity here.
  15. May is done. 70 to 45 contested possessions. Gold Coast just working way harder.
  16. No changes unless Petty is ready. Not sure Brown, McDonald or Spargo make us any better. Schache will get another week. JVR may be managed but probably needs a rest anyway. In: Petty Out: JVR (managed) If Hibberd needs a week then you could swap him for Petty but depends on where Petty will be played.
  17. I am sitting on the flank. I saw him on the ground and his leg looked weird. Then he was waving his arms. His leg looked to be badly broken. No replay explains it.
  18. Minimise cost to build and operare thus increasing profit margin, boosting demand. Hobart also has a smaller population than Geelong, you can't justify 45k stadium in a city with 200k people. 23k sounds just about right.
  19. North won't be pushovers tonight. You can absolutely bet Clarkson will get them up for a game at the MCG on free to air against a flag contender. He did it multiple times at Hawthorn between 2004-2006 and he'll get it done a few more times this year. Hopefully not against us. There are a few players at North playing for their careers atm. Everyone is playing for a spot in Clarkson's North. At the very least, they'll start strong and give us a scare early. Perfect weather. Sunny and crisp all day according to BOM. Should be a good game. Hopefully a crowd lf 40k-ish.
  20. A few in this thread completely oblivious to how long and tough the recruitment process is for a CEO, let alone the CEO for an organisation such as the AFL. That this bloke sat "down the hall" is completely irrelevant: only a consultancy firm could fairly and reasonably assess and audit the candidates next to selection criteria. Sure, for the team leader of the car park security, you might end up with a boys pick and a tap on the shoulder. We're talking about a fairly meticulous process. Most CEOs are hired from within, either through promotion, or succession plans. They still have to do their due diligence. There's already nuffies on Twitter starting with the "aNoThEr mALe cEO". Well yeah, he was probably the best candidate. We're not talking about a coffee barista here. It's the CEO of arguably the most politically and socially influential entertainment brand in the country. As if they're going to just go with "one of the boys", just 'cause.
  21. Collingwood's flag to lose. Geelong and Melbourne only genuine threats. Don't think we have the pace or polish to beat them in the big dance unfortunately.
  22. I was in AFL Members. I'd estimate it was where 70% of Richmond supporters on the night were sitting. And they outnumbered Melbourne supporters in the area 10 to 1. But I swear we were louder and way more "into it", the few of us that were sitting there. When Oliver kicked the goal at the end of the third, it's the loudest I've ever heard the AFL Reserve from Melbourne supporters. It was insane. In the fourth quarter it felt like *we* outnumbered them 10 to 1. Overall I'd say the crowd was 55:45 in favour of Richmond. That's my assessment from spending time in both AFL Reserve and MCC with a mate for the first half of the third. That's really good all things considered. We need a similar turnout when we play Collingwood.
