Mr Jones
I imagine that if we land a Gaff or similar player that may just be on the horizon for Jones.

Mr Jones
Hmm they were all older and more experienced than Jones is currently though. I would imagine that should we not play Finals this year, or really struggle next year, it may well be his last contract.

Mr Jones
He has always been a one-way runner that goes through the motions. In a poor side he stood out because he was the only one that won contested ball, clearances, and disposals. For many years, some here have lauded his commitment and effort. You cannot question either. However, he has always been a limited albeit serviceable player. He is very much our Richie Vandenberg equivalent: a favourite son, stuck around in bad times and helped with the transition into a new era. I would argue he is still comfortably top 22 on experience and opposition knowledge alone: even when not at his best as yesterday, he is still serviceable, and opposition teams are still wary of his potential. His trade value would have been at its highest in 2015, but has now reached the point of no return and will likely play out his career at Melbourne. TBH I think he would struggle to crack a spot in the midfield of any current top 8 side.

GAMEDAY - Round 17
1. Midfielders are getting absolutely smashed. Jones' defensive awareness is embarrassing. 2. JKH is a liability. 3. Garlett will never learn and doesn't apply enough pressure. 4. We kick to contested areas and allow Footscray to waltz it out. 5. If the Dogs start clunking their marks, we are due for heartbreak. 6. We continue, week in and week out, play into the opposition's hands when going forward. 7. We rarely if ever have loose players to kick the ball too in transition.

Round 17 Non MFC Games
I got one up on you. In my 150th game of junior footy, i was playing full back on the league's leading goal kicker. Kept him scoreless initially, but didn't get a disposal myself. Anyway, 3rd quarter, kicking in from a behind (the first time I'd touched the ball all day). Kicked it straight into him, he grabbed the ball and snapped a goal. My stats for the day: 1 clanger 0 disposals

Cashing in on Forward Entries
tl;dr - we are on track to break Essendon's inside 50 entry in 2000 record - we score more than any other team - we also score the most behinds - contested style leads to congestion - Goodwin says that's part of the challenge abd learning

Cashing in on Forward Entries
We got this. The stats don't lie. We are dominating in many areas. We need to CAPITALISE. Once we do we will be unstoppable.

Roos on Oliver
Oliver is rare though. I feel that unless the draft age does rise, teams will draft more inside players like him to feed into the growing congestion. Unless the AFL actively addresses it, which it will, because it loves changing rules and the way the game is played whenever...the game changes because of new rules. Oliver undoubtedly needs to add more to his resume. He has the potential to be better than Dusty imo.

Tom on a Wing
Team sheets are mostly [censored] outside of midfielders and key position players.

King: Oliver can be Dee's Dusty
Garlett could be put to good measure. Someone made a great point on FB. Swap him and Oliver at the end of every quarter, get some run and spread through the midfield, an outside runner, then deliver to Oliver to work his magic. King isn't wrong.

Ladder predictor
Picks really do need a protection caveat. Like top 10 protected (we keep it if it's top 10 and the following year's pick goes to the Crows or until a pick falls outside the top 10).
