GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Richmond
this is 100% structural. we do the same [censored] thing every single time. EVERY SINGLE TIME. we then get absolutely smoked on the transition against decent teams. This is a football lesson. Goodwin is out of his element coaching at AFL level. This is 90s-era football being coached in a completely different football era.

What they're saying down at Punt Road
Richmond will beat us comfortably imo. They have started sslowly but still have depth across the field. Their field kicking when on is up there with Hawthorn and Geelong.

TEAMS: Rd 05 vs Richmond
AVB keeps his spot. But Bennell gets dropped after one game. And then doesn't get a recall after a 4 goal reserves hitout. fmd.

Welcome to Demonland - 78 Degrees

Most Frustrating Team in the AFL
This is it. IMO We are on the edge of either breaking through and doing a Geelong of 2007, starting slowly and then just destroying a team to get the season going, or we just clunk along and eventually crash. Last year even with all of our injuries we were dominating matches in key stats but couldn't win. Even in round 2 against Geelong we were down by 28 points early in the 3rd, went forward like 20 times and couldn't score. Geelong went forward 5 times in the third quarter and scored 5 goals. Suddenly it's a 10 goal deficit. We then lose by 80 points. It was symbolic of the entire season. This year has been exactly the same. We win the ball everywhere but don't convert. There will not be an in between imo. We will either start smoking teams, or we will finish bottom 4.

Dees vs Tigers This Week
A Victorian hub is the only viable way forward imo

Dees vs Tigers This Week
Looking forward to a slog, Richmond to be down one player from quarter time, we win inside 50s and clearances but barely scrape 50 points. Tigers by 17.

Through different eyes
Ultimately the only quantifiable, objective trait we have atm is the win:loss column. Go further than that and we are a shocking attacking side with a modest defensive streak. This is based on the resulting outcome of key statistics that show us winning the ball but being extremely poor with it. How you forecast around this as you have is purely subjective but "OBJECTIVELY" we are a poor team atm. The numbers reflect this. I think it's great you see upside but the current outcome as a reflection of current performance is imo symbolic of Goodwin's coaching over 3+ seasons: predictable, lacking in structure, and ultimately unaccountable. That's my subjective analysis of his coaching. I think Goodwin is in trouble atm. It's a brand of football that is literally costing us. He has one more preseason. Season is obviously only just underway but nothing has changed despite a strong and relatively injury free list.

What they're saying down at Kardinia Park
They were very uninspiring. And rarely left second gear. We meanwhile played like we have for the past 16 months: dysfunctional, messy, and devoid of anything remotely resembling football IQ. Adelaide would have beaten Geelong today. We are bad.

POSTGAME: Rd 04 vs Geelong
are you being serious? even when geelong was trying to gift us the game we never looked like winning. A comeback is unsurprising and perhaps was to be expected given Geelong were a player down all game and we were off a 15 game break. Geelong looked stuffed and we still gave them paddocks even in the dying seconds. That comeback is hardly symbolic of anything positive.
