Well, the upshot is, he certainly won't be one of those who takes things for granted when he returns. But, He will come back with a lot of AFL info, on preparation, game tactics, & his development from the Gym .

Re the false sense of security that the helmets give to the GridIron players.. also I think the Gloves on the boxers. No blood leaves a clean impression... and lasting problems.

Slightly different role to Spargo, and differing strengths. Spargo is a key 'point guard' type. Hannan is a bot like a winger, forward... skilled, tenacious.

Actually (while I don't like UFC all that much, I sometimes watch it), there is far less being hit in the head than a Boxing match has. I think its just that there is more blood smeared around on bodies, that makes it appear worse than it is. Boxing Is much worse for the brain, imo.

Don't panic 'M'. I think we are having an exceptional Pre season with very few real concerns. Only minor niggles, that the club thankfully is treating patiently with kid gloves. The club rightly knows that it will be a long season for us... and we will warm into the season, so that we can be full flight by May. If we are 2 & 2 in the 1st month of the season we wil be in great shape for the ladder. If we better that, we are in prime territory. There is absolutely no point going off prematurely, and fading away after the midway point. - - - - - - - - - - - - - My take on all the preseason surgeries, especially 'Oli' have two shoulders Reco'd, is not just for 2019... but looking at 2019, 2020, 2021... We are just starting to open our window, to let the autumn breeze blow through.
