  1. I reckon Tom would do $775,000.00 or so, over 5 years... $3,875,000_00 over 5Yrs. This would help him and the club, to build further, for all.
  2. Harmes, and imo, ANB. ANB I think is following the development line Of Jones, who's kicking was iffy in his early years, but his decision making has improved and his kicking is sometimes excellent. Jones is a far better player now, then his first 3 years. ANB is improving quite a bit over the past 2 seasons. And with TMac and Hogan also covering the mid zone, we are now much better served for run, through that area. Gaff would be good to get, but not if he's too expensive, and upset our trajectory for the next 5 years.
  3. That's right DJ, and if we were Hawthorn, the players would take a small hit each, so they could bring a player into their list, to aid success on the field.
  4. Yes, I would. He fits the age bracket we need more leadership within. Sloane of Lynch. would be good. Adding gaff would help our gut running area. Three seems to be a few coming up Re possible shifts. IMO, in four years time we will have a lot of pressure on our salary cap. More-so then than now. Getting these mature players will serve us well, as long as they are potent winners. But we need to hold our picks as much as possible, so we have young talent ready in 4 years time, to start their AFL careers.
  5. I think we go into the game hard rough-ling their feathers early, and them focus on play.
  6. Just reading Misson's injury report, it seems they are thinking about a rest for Spargo in the next couple of weeks. With this special indigenous game this week, I think Garlett will come in for Spargo this match. I would then bring Spargo back in against the Bulldogs, playing the 2 smalls against the Doggies. And then both in for the Q/Birthday game, as well. I think the Pies might struggle against the 2 quick smalls.
  7. And IF we take Sloane at the end of this year, We weaken the Crows, and we get stronger, closing the gap between us, even further. The Crows are the real deal, even tho they tripped themselves up last September, out of malice. We are/will be, competing with them in the next few years, for September glory. Sloane is like a 2 for 1, to us. And won't eat our salary cap for too many years... Allowing us to develop other youngsters, while he plays top footy.
  8. This is what I've been thinking, since Jackson was mooted as possibly leaving some time in the future, back in 2016/17. Jackson has been a big rap for Josh Mahoney; and josh has lasted many clean outs of our admins over the years, and comes out clean. He does a good job of things. I would not be surprised to see Josh take the role, which would mean we are looking for him to mentor a footy dept head.
  9. Your right Earl. The difference I think is, these types are gamblers/risk takers, which is what makes them above the others. They'll have a red hot dip. Think Lockett. rough cut gem. Gablett snr. Te Robbie Flowers are extremely rare. and we very nearly rejected him. Our supporters IMO have reduced down to almost all, of similar cut jibs, conservative non risk taking styles. In that embarrassment weighs heavier in their minds than being successful. Not wanting to take these risks on rough cuts types, for FEAR of embarrassment, and going against the clean club, 'mantra'. Re De Goey, I have no idea how or if we could afford him, but from what I've seen we need a player on wing half-forward like him. With his quick agile moving, and clean thinking/reacting. He is dynamic.
  10. He probably thought he's been hard done by. He's currently being overtaken by kids. As is Garlett. well done you O F.
  11. I entered the fray in support of McQueen's tongue in cheek response, which was attacked by rocky. I didn't think anything of McQueens initial Garret post. But rocky I thought misinterpreted McQueens comment. And yes, I feel very strongly Re the European treatment of our nations 1st peoples,,, and the efforts to try to kill off or breed out our 1st nation people.
  12. I understood the original comment, about 'Garret'. and beds are burning. but not the running commentary since, its all a bit vague.
  13. This is what I want to see ALL of our players do.
  14. Some like creating, some like destroying.
  15. I don't understand what your saying.
  16. Involvement overseas https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vestey_Group#Involvement_overseas Wave Hill walk-off https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vincent_Lingiari#Wave_Hill_walk-off International expansion https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vestey_Group#International_expansion Its time, we gave much more respect to all our indigenous peoples, for the pain, the hurt we have done to their races, since the europeans settled in here.
  17. disrespect: at who exactly ?
  18. That was my thought a couple of days ago DaG. But on 2nd thoughts I don't know that he IS a DH. He is possibly a fired up creative type with aggression... a little like a Toby Greene. Every club needs a dynamo, like that. My thinking has changed since a couple of weeks back, when he first hit the headlines. We are too conservative by fault, too often. We need to take more risks, to get to the top.
  19. And may have put paid to Garletts return? Melky and Spargo add to our small and agile dept'.
  20. No. No more than we can afford to offer, realistically. We still have to build on this list. For the benefit of all, including Tommy.
  21. you don't think De Goey could add anything to us? scorn isn't your best suit et.
  22. I thought it might have been the 'bluebirds'. But we all saw them yesterday anyway.
  23. Agreed, we are starting to grow in the talent stakes, slowly but surely. I don't think that is coincidence.
  24. Who said we would have taken Kreuzer? Cotchin would have been more the need for us back then.
  25. I would too. The young fella might turn, into a Follower. worth the risk.
