He has definitely improved his taps to teammates; some outstanding.

What’s really changed since our last loss?
I remember Lingy saying that we were in too tight around the ball early season, and getting hemmed in by the opposition. Things changed shortly after.

What’s really changed since our last loss?
I think this is a big one. I sense the players and coaching group may have had an honest meeting, to talk out any concerns after the last loss. I think the players were noticeably more calm around the ball, shortly after the last loss. I reckon from that point, things were fine tuned and then we got back some senior players which added maturity and class. With that, we added other things like more run, and pressure around the contest, in Fritsch and Spargo.

I don't care for appearances, and you should not assume that's what it is, Nash. that's where you go wrong, assuming things. Translation is different for all of us. Its whats in the heart, that's what we look for, the play like a man, not a boy stuff. You could do well to learn from your seniors, Nasher; they know a lot more than you think.

not having a go at you Nash. Weideman isn't a choirboy like watts. Weide has some mongrel about him, is said to have, at least. hoping to see his aggression, onfield soon.

Changes vs Bulldogs
Hopefully this week, a quick freshen up, Pre QB.

Parish the clean, choirboy. Oli the imperfect Man footyplayer with Aussie rules in his head.

And he came with some question marks over attitude and behaviour. We took on the gamble and won.

Journalists have become stale and lazy. just collating information and passing it on. And the AFL control independence. journo's are stopped from doing some journo work under the weight of the AFL heavies. The AFL tries to control the tone to protect the Game (really not the game but the finances invested invested in it)... this damages the integrity of the game. The game is/was sound enough to withstand any situation, as the people protected it with Love. The AFL sort of disengaged the public love, by putting things up on a pedestal, out of reach of everyman. And undone connection via the same methods. The AFL has constructed a feeling a bit like the monarchy.... out of touch to the common-man. The Melbounre footy club has been doing this for decades,,, and has gotten much worse, since the Northern-Stand has been built. . sorry for getting off post.

NRL smashing AFL in TV ratings
You just made me think of something else. The blues supporters are probably not watching as much; The hawks supporters also probably not watching in the same numbers as a couple of years back; Same the Pies, etc. I starting to think the AFL has made a rod for their own back by allowing the super power clubs to dominate; because as the Comp is evening up, and these strong clubs drop their supporters connections,,, but the less powerful clubs which were the weaker in support, will struggle to grow supporters in any quick fashion. ADD the team press compression of space, and its lost its MOJO. ADD the list management and the supporters feel cheated. ADD the TV station interference on holding up play as adds take precedence, and again, supporters feel lesser. This may take some time to repair, because supporters just do not grow on trees. Supporters have feelings, and intelligence ( and we are not sheep on a transport ship), and anger destroys love. The Love of our game is waning, under the influence of greed and money.

If you go into a oppo player to belittle him, it can go either way. Against a strong side down on form, being arrogant can cause the oppo side to fire up. Or give them ammunition for when they are back to full strength, for next time. This is how I would hope our players would react, in that case.

NRL smashing AFL in TV ratings
And they all seem to speak in humble and old fashioned respectful ways about the game, and only of one another in more hushed tones and with humor. The NRL have a lot of talented people, and because the game is smaller than ours, there is more humility and a more of a communal feel about it all. Our commentary all seem to come off like KnowitAlls and some sort of Toorak snobs. A bit too high and mighty. Its really off-putting, and that is why I mention Mike Williamson so often. He was so humble Re his position in the game, and always sounding like how appreciative he was in being in his position calling games. A genuine love of the game came thru in his excitement, which he didn't have to put-on,,, nor exaggerate. the ex players were only there foe special comments. It was better that way, and I think the NRL still use that model of commentary. In F1, its mostly this way as well, although is starting to change, and maybe to its detriment. When the Pro's start to call the games, it can get to being like pulling wings off Fly's. All stats and tech talk, and too much boring crap. which soaks up all the excitement and jovial feelings.

In AFL, I miss the man on man match-ups, that would often stay for the whole match. star on star. The surprise from an unexpected Torpedo Punt kick. The high mark from the back of the pack, or from the side,,, and generally the open spaces that allow individuals to show their skills, running, dodging, weaving, opposite hand bounce, and drilling the ball low and hard from 48Mtrs thru the sticks on the run. The clean simplicity and spontaneity that is allowed with having open spaces to do the things that highlight our game. I don't want to see WWE tag team wrestling, or basketball, or a version of soccer.

Give us some credit! (Media reaction merged thread)
Yep, keep the lid on until some time AFTER the Bye. We will just keep on creeping up, as far as we can. And see where it unfolds. Not putting pressure on is best for us, atmo. Everyone remember; we are very young; don't hold us down, But, just don't talk us up,,, yet. Let the boys play with the freedom of Nil expectation for a bit longer,,, as we continue to grow in confidence.

Don't worry Billy we will go under any Radar, behind enemies lines, and shag them while they're all gloating.

I agree with this, but this in't the biggest problem; or all that would be needed would be to turn the sound right down. It's the product that is dying, from since the Pro times, slowly the playing field has become to small, for the run the players are developing. the commentators and the tv station commentary try to sell us fibs by talking up the game that once did not need pumping up.. The game once did its own bidding. Without any fluff talk. Umpires waiting for the TV add cue. Bias in scheduling. List management, and trying to get low on the ladder, for early selections. Happening again now this year. (the big blew) VFL being trashed and teams losing happily as they teach the kids whist PAYING customers feel RIPPED OFF. They are trashing the Aussie Rules game, without really understanding that... because they are all so arrogant, they think they can do anything, and get away with it !!!

We missed out because we were too weak kneed, and conservative, cow towing... And not footy minded enough off the field. Our own incompetence is what caused those bad years we endured, from the time of Smiths sacking, and on-wards. At board level since Pre Smiths sacking, we have been atrocious. Accepting the time of Barassi & Seddon. That ended like Whitlam, came and went, far too quickly.
