  1. He's got a good initial 2m or so. After that his pace is just average.
  2. Good thread that I think the majority have misunderstood. Tom McDonald & Weideman will clearly be the two key pillars in the senior team, but after that the only players we have in reserve for our key forwards are Tim Smith. In the 2018 season we had Weideman, Pedersen & Smith as reserve, so we need to recruit at least one key forward option in the draft or as a DFA. Best option in the draft with our pick 65 for me would be Mason Shaw out of the WAFL. 24 I think and has kicked over 140 goals in the last 3 years combined. Can also pinch hit in the ruck. As for a potential DFA, I haven't seen anyone that's jumped out at me yet apart from maybe Aaron Black. But we may be able to convince an uncontracted player to refuse a deal in front of them and then be delisted for us to pounce on. Someone like James Stewart from Essendon or even Menzel at Geelong who at a pinch you could play as an undersized key forward?
  3. Nathan Wright as back up in the event Nevill were to get injured. We need another small defender in the squad.
  4. Reckon Bulldogs Pick 7 is as high as they'll get. Suns will be happy with 2, 3 & 5, Carlton wont trade 1, Saints want one of the Kings, so wont trade 4 and Port have 6. Nothing more to see....
  5. Can't go past a Monte Carlo. Oldy but a goody! Oh and Jordan Roughead traded from Bulldogs to Collingwood for Pick 57. Dogs to refuse to trade Marcus Adams.
  6. HOW TOMORROW WILL PLAY OUT: Brisbane trade Beams, Pick 32 & 55 to Collingwood for Pick 18 & Future 1st Rd Pick. Brisbane trade Pick 5 & 18 to Melbourne. Melbourne trade Hogan & Pick 36 to Fremantle. Fremantle trade Neale & Pick 30 to Brisbane Melbourne trade Pick 5 & Future 3rd Rd Pick to Gold Coast for May & KK This means Bellend can trade Pick 11 & 23 to GWS for Lobb & Pick 14. West Coast trade Picks 20 & 22 to GWS for Picks 11 & 47 West Coast trade Pick 11 to Geelong for Kelly. Bombers trade Pick 9 & Future 2nd Rd Pick to GWS for Shiel & Future 4th Rd Pick ($cully trade). Am I missing anything/anyone???
  7. Cleary is misquoting Cameron. All Cameron said is that May's open to come to Melbourne (city) and his suitors (ie Melbourne & Collingwood) need to come up with suitable currency. Clubs aren't going to come from the clouds tomorrow and trade for a guy they haven't even done a medical on. It's an deliberate misquote non story. May will be with either Gold Coast or the Demons in 27 hours time.
  8. So your saying he doesn't say it??? Funny how you demand quotes from others to prove a point, but when the shoes on the other foot you're as defensive as Geoff Boycott on Day 1 of a Test at Lords on a Green top!
  9. Where does he say he can't wait to see the back of the joint??? Actual quote please. Not your interpretation from a 10 second news grab.....
  10. From what I can make of it, once you have a senior list the size of 38, there's a maximum number of rookies you can have, but nothing about minimum. Meaning no reason a squad of 38, 4 & 2 can't work. http://m.afl.com.au/afl-hq/the-afl-explained/about-the-afl
  11. Reckon we'll go with 38 senior list, 4 rookie list & 2 category B rookies for the year. 8 retirements/delistings and 3 trades out creates 11 vacancies. We've already got Bradtke & Walker coming in as Cat B rookies takes 2 spots. Trade in May, KK & Preuss makes 5. Use 4 Picks at the National Draft is 9. One Pick in the Rookie Draft is 10. One delisted free agent = 11.
  12. What would people think of this scenario (in the spirit of getting the deal done): Brisbane trade Pick 5 to us & 32 to Fremantle Fremantle trade Lachie Neale to Brisbane & Pick 23 to us We trade Hogan to Fremantle & Pick 46 to Brisbane Means Brisbane loose Picks 5 & 32 but get Neale & Pick 46 Fremantle loose Neale & Pick 23 but get Hogan & Pick 32 We loose Hogan & Pick 46 but gain Picks 5 & 23. Fremantle can then trade Picks 11 & 49 to GWS for Lobb & Pick 25. We trade Pick 5 & future 3rd Round Pick to Gold Coast for May & KK. Finally knowing we have picks 54, 62 & 65 up out sleeve to match any bids from 30+ for Bedford, we package picks 23 & 36 to Richmond for Pick 17 & a late pick. Net Gains OUT: Hogan, Tyson, Kent, Pick 36, 46 & future 3rd Round Pick IN: May, KK, Preuss, Pick 17, Pick 62, Pick 65 That reads ok to me.
  13. I'll trade him, but only for a deal that helps us get May. Pick 11 doesn't do that.
  14. Disagree. With no more D-League, you can't have too many specialist rucks on your list. Three rucks with a handful of players who are capable of pinch hitting (T. Mc, Weideman, Keilty etc) is all you need.
  15. There a link/pod cast to this discussion by any chance?
  16. In theory yes. Not too sure how many of their players have that currency though...
  17. They can't. They've already traded their future 3rd rounder. Means they can't trade their future 1st Round Pick, only 2nd, 4th, 5th etc...
  18. Freo will trade Pick 5 to GWS for Lobb & Pick 14. Means we'll get Picks 6 & 14 for Hogan.
  19. Found the comment on Tyson in The Age interesting: Melbourne Picks: 34, 45, 53, 89 Trade Outlook: Another busy time for the Demons who hope to recruit May with picks gained from trading out Hogan. They will land Suns' wingman Kolodjashnij and lose Dean Kent to St Kilda. Aaron vandenBerg is likely to get to Sydney with the trade request based on compassionate grounds after his father died this year. Dom Tyson is exploring his options but clubs are unlikely to commit until other decisions are made while North Melbourne's Braydon Preuss is expected to join the Demons. So it sounds like we may not hear much about where/if Tyson is going until we find out what's happening with the likes of Shiel & Setterfield. Sounds as though Dom will be someones 2nd choice. Also sounds like Vandenberg's gone....
  20. The only thing I can think of is that he wants out of a footy state? Allow him to have a bit more of a normal life style/out of media street and he sees Brisbane as the team with the best future (of the 4 northern teams). Otherwise it doesn't make sense to me?
  21. Ring up Trade Radio and blame Sam Maclure!
  22. I have no issues trading out Tyson, and think it would likely suit all parties. Carlton, Essendon & Hawthorn would all be potential suitors IMO. More concerned about Vandenberg potentially leaving. In fact if Vandenberg were to leave along with Tyson, I hope the club considers taking a punt on Nathan Freeman as a DFA so we have a mature bodied mid ready to go with some potential upside.
  23. Two things. 1. May isn't Cam McCarthy, he wont sit out a year. 2. The AFL will ensure the club they put millions into will get priority 1 compensation for May if he leaves, whether he were to miss most of the year or not.
  24. And then some as it will cost more than that.
