Couldnt have said it better myself. The midfield are required to do a lot of that support. Added to this is teams try to isolate him quite often because his one on one skills are not the best. He looked better when Lever had played a few games and there was a bit of sync there but his one on one is heart in mouth stuff, his intensity I don't think can ever be changed. He has better skills than Frost but Frost has more weapons with his strength and speed. We be good if could somehow 'merge' them....

I don't disagree per se but the Bulldogs had some pretty key injuries in their premiership year particularly to their defence with Easton Wood and Murphy. Stringer was injured in key parts of the year as well...

10 weeks on a like for like basis.

Has improved quite a bit in the past few weeks but still has one infuriating habit... He tries too often to kick off one step and ends up floating the ball too high.. When he gets a free or a mark he needs to get back quickly and assess options. Always feels like he is going to kick into the man on the mark. Has also had a terrible year goal kicking....

I couldn't care less what you think about my happiness or otherwise. I was glad for the win on an interstate deck (as I said) but as always with Melbourne it comes with caveats. What would your position be if we had lost? For the second time like that in two weeks? The fact that we won doesn't paper over the cracks for me like it clearly does for you. We have had a porous defence for 2 years now and I don't see much change in our ability to stop oppo's scoring when there get the ball in their fwd 50. So much for 'we have learned a lot from last week'. Unless you are 12 yo you would have heard that sort of thing 1 million times from melbourne teams. We keep repeating the same mistakes. It's about ppl extrapolating wins against weaker sides into us being flag contenders. Some of the stuff written after our 6 wins in a row was plain embarrassing. We will never win finals consistently until we fix our leaky defence. And we should have had that fixed by now. After all, Roos started the defensive mantra yet we are still one of the easiest sides to score against once the ball goes inside our back 50.

But but I thought we had a good game plan that will stand us in good stead in the finals....
