CASEY: Rd 20 vs Brisbane Lions
Having locked in at least a Wild Card appearance at the end of the VFL home and away series, it's time for Casey to show what it's made of against two other finalists before the business end of the season. The Lions away this week followed by top team Box Hill beyond that presents Casey with a major challenge. It won't be easy but it will be good preparation for the players.

CASEY: RD 18 vs Sandringham
Siren sounds and that’s the ball game. This was another commanding display by the Demons, who will enjoy a bye next week before facing a couple of tough challenges. Although they are not yet guaranteed a finals spot, and may regret a few narrow defeats at the hands of lower-ranked teams a few weeks ago, they remain well-placed to secure a wildcard game next month. For now, it’s a matter of observing how the other contenders perform next week. Willem Duursma is one of the top draft prospects for 2025 and one of the family of two other AFL players and an AFLW player and also the son of a former Demon reserves player, Dean Duursma. His uncle Jamie Duursma did play some senior football with Melbourne.
