CASEY: Practice Match vs St Kilda VFL
This Sunday's Casey Demons practice match marks their final dress rehearsal for 2026, featuring a captivating encounter with the re-established St Kilda VFL side. From 2001 to 2005, the Saints had a partnership with the Springvale Scorpions, later renamed Casey Scorpions following their relocation to Casey Fields in 2006. This partnership remained intact until 2009, when the Saints and Demons swapped affiliations, resulting in Melbourne aligning with the Scorpions and St Kilda joining forces with the Sandringham Zebras until they parted ways late last year. Meanwhile, the Casey team adopted the name Casey Demons in 2017. Sunday’s practice match will therefore be the first encounter between the two clubs in their current identities. While the history may be complex, rest assured that the Demons will be able to field their Melbourne-listed players when the teams face off at RSEA Park, Moorabbin on Sunday morning. CASEY: Practice Match vs Box Hill Hawks
A poster on the Box Hill Hawks Bigfooty page has put up their team list for today’s game and they had 13 AFL listed players - Ned Reeves, Calsheer Dear, Brodie Ryan, William McCabe, Aidan Schubert, Cody Anderson, Jack Dalton, Oliver Greeves, Max Ramsden, Matt Hill, Bailey Macdonald, Jamie Uhr-Henry and Henry Hustwaite. Reeves is a 210cm monster who had a couple of 200cm back ups and they were pitted against 195cm Nate Pipicelli who has yet to play a VFL game. He was assisted from time to time by 18 year old 199cm Tairon Ah Mu who also has yet to play at this level. No assistance from any MFC big men and I didn’t notice Casey’s new ruck signing from the Eastern Ranges. Hence, the Hawks dominated the rucks. They also had a size advantage in the key forward and key defence positions. That’s the context that you have to view this game and on that basis, Casey did well.

CASEY: Practice Match vs Box Hill Hawks
Box Hill kicks a goal seconds before the siren. The Hawks record an 8 point win. CASEY DEMONS 3.3.21 8.5.53 10.9.69 13.12.90 BOX HILL HAWKS 3.4.22 6.6.42 11.10.76 14.14.98 GOALS CASEY DEMONS Scapin 3 Bowden Cheffers Hampton SInnema 2 Ah-Mu L Lual Kudos to Toby SInnema who brought the team back into the game when all seemed lost. He’s lightly built but as he gets stronger and with more experience at this level he will become a very good player.

CASEY: Practice Match vs Box Hill Hawks
I’m not sure who’s playing for Box Hill but they certainly have the advantage in height, size and fitness. Their aerial dominance has been crucial today. A nice snap from Toby SInnema brings Casey back to a 6 point deficit late in the term. And as the siren sounds, Box Hill are leading 11.10.76 to 10.9.69.
