Everything posted by KC from Casey

  1. The wind increased in intensity during the afternoon but it was also very swirly making direct kicking for goal very difficult even when kicking with the aid of the wind.
  2. I've seen him in most of his games both last year (part of which was during a period of recovery from a thyroid problem) and this year. He had a poor patch in the middle of the season and he needs to work on his delivery when under pressure but I think he has some good attributes and there's a lot more development in him. I'd keep.
  3. Apologies for the stuff up with the thread title - I must have been a bit tired and emotional at the time. These are the Casey votes for the development league 17 J. Pollard 8 D. Cleven 5 B. Galvin 4 D. Dearaugo N. Page 3 R. Plummer B. Salton D. Collins M. Fieldsend 2 D. Nicholls 1 J. Spencer T. Smith P. Rosier M. Gent N. Allen K. Roberts No votes for Lucas Cook there either although he did play a few games with this team. I'm not surprised therefore that it's now being said the Demons are looking for a trade or that they are/will delist him. Disappointing that this is being discussed before the VFL finals are over.
  4. Voting for Casey Scorpions 19 T. Couch 9 D. Collins 5. J. Bennell S. Blease T. Davis 3 T. McDonald 2 J. Watts R. Taggart J. Sheahan E. Panozza B. Green C. Morton L. Hill J. Magner 1 D. Nicholson L. Dunn R. Plummer N. Jetta J. Fitzpatrick
  5. Major kudos to Casey and Melbourne players at VFL's JJ Liston Trophy night with Tom Couch finishing runner up on 19 votes to Werribee's Ben Ross who polled three votes in the final round to win with 20. It was a fantastic result for the Demon rookie who missed five games during the season but only one due to injury. The rest, including the final game were when he was either on AFL duty or as an emergency with Melbourne. Coach Brett Lovett was awarded the VFL Coach of the Year title, after leading Casey to top spot on the Peter Jackson VFL ladder in season 2012 in his first season in the role, and after a number of experienced departures in the off season for the Scorpions. Casey players in the VFL Team of the Year were as follows: Back Pocket - Evan Panozza Interchange - Luke Tynan Best and Fairest in the AFL Development League was Jordan Pollard of the Casey Scorpions
  6. Nasher, the problem in every year since the start of the alignment has been the number of injuries at Melbourne. A few weeks ago there were about 15 or 16 AFL listed player available and that's now gone down to half that number, a situation not helped by rookie Kelvin Lawrence walking out on the Demons and Liam Jurrah not having his head into football and heading off to SA to be with his family. With Spencer no longer eligible and Jack Fitzpatrick rumored to be off for surgery, the Scorps will probably have no more than 6 or 7 AFL player for next week's game against Williamstown. To his credit Brett Lovett has persevered with bringing up young talent at the club so I wouldn't wipe them off yet!
  7. Casey Scorpions 2.4.16 2.5.17 3.9.27 3.10.28 Werribee Tigers 1.0.6 4.26 4.7.31 6.10.46 Goals Casey Scorpions Gent Riseley Smith Werribee Tigers McKinley 3 Harding Speight Warren Best Casey Scorpions Riseley Magner Tynan Sheahan Panozza Gysberts Werribee Tigers Harding Sierakowski Hartigan McKinley Mather Sharp The Scorpions kicked two goals in the first five minutes or so of the game and only one more for the remainder of the match. Very disappointing. Semi Final next week @ Casey v Willy.
  8. Werribee by 13 points midway through the final term.
  9. Three Qtr Time: Casey Scorpions 3.9.27 to Werribee Tigers 4.7.31 The Tigers got on top at the halfway mark of the quarter and have the wind in the last. Casey looks pretty lethargic and have their backs to the wall. Leading stats: Couch, Magner 19, Bate, Clay, L Tynan 19, Gysberts 16.
  10. Alarm bells for the Scorps with Werribee doing all the attacking now to take a lead of four points with goals scarce as hen's teeth in the windy conditions.
  11. Scorps have about a quarter of an hour to get out of the rut. Have a 4 goal breeze and are struggling to kick goals with it.
  12. Risely goals to give Casey the lead 3.9.27 to 4.2.26.
  13. Half Time: Casey 2.5.17 trail Werribee 4.2.26 A crucial goal to the Tigers just on half time gave them a big boost.
  14. Quarter Time: Casey 2.4.16 to Werribee 1.0.6 The Tigers would be happy as it's a strong wind and that goal against it was invaluable, especially after Casey's strong start. Stats leaders: Clay 8, Gysberts 7, L.Tynan, Collins, Couch, Magner 6.
  15. The Werribee defence is holding on strongly and at the 21 minute mark, it's only 2.2.14 to 0.0.0. They need to get a move on because it's a four to five goal breeze.
  16. Kicking with the aid of the wind, Casey gets off to a flyer with early goals to Mitch Gent and Tim Smith. It's 2.1.13 to 0.0.0.
  17. Minutes away from the start of the Qualifying Final. Conditions perfect at Casey Fields. 2012 AFL Vic Development League Casey Scorpions 0.1.1 2.6.18 3.10.28 8.21.69 Coburg Tigers 5.0.30 7.2.44 14.5.89 15.5.95 Goals Casey Scorpions Weekes 2 Galvin Page Pollard Rosier Salton Thompson Coburg Tigers Hore 5 Barrack Maric 2 Bamblett Dimartino Duhau Hogan Jordan Robertella Best Casey Scorpions Pollard Cleven Page McGillivray-Smith Troutman Bull Coburg Tigers Tanner Brandt Hore Cartelli Saville Linton
  18. The Casey Development League team's season is nearly over. Only a miracle can save them now. Three quarter time: Casey Scorpions 3.10.28 to Coburg Tigers 14.5.89
  19. Valenti is a good VFL footballer but is not tall enough and too slow to go further. At VFL level, he's very much like another Liston contender, Tom Couch, a ball magnet who dominates.
  20. Half Time: Casey's development league team trailing at half time 2.6.18 to 7.2.44.
  21. Development League: Coburg opened with the aid of a strong breeze and lead 5.0.30 to 0.1.1 at the first break.
