Everything posted by KC from Casey

  1. Willi making a late run and are only 10 points down with all the momentum.
  2. The DL Dees have a 6 goal lead at the final break:- Casey Demons 5.7.37 6.8.44 10.9.69 Williamstown 1.1.7 3.7.25 4.9.33
  3. It's half time in the Development League game with the Demons in front Casey Demons 5.7.37 6.8.44 Williamstown 1.1.7 3.7.25 As usual, the wind will be an influence today.
  4. It's been pretty much an inevitability for a number of years as the Springvale connection slowly dies out. This is due to the distance between Cranbourne and Springvale, the changes within the community of Springvale and also, the rapid growth of the local area which is what a club located in this region has to turn to for its support and growth. Demon fans will be particularly pleased with the new jumper. Now that the season has come in earnest, they've ditched the Scorpions colour for the red v on navy blue and it looks a treat.
  5. Development League QT: Casey Demons 5.7.37 lead Williamstown 1.1.7
  6. Player numbers are in the VFL Record. They are also next to the players' names in the team selections in the opening post of this thread.
  7. The 2017 VFL season upon us with Casey's first game happening at the end of the opening split round on Easter Monday against Williamstown at scenic Burbank Oval. The VFL website has the Casey Demons season preview which sets out the various changes supporters will see during the season. With the transition from the Scorpions to Demons there will be more changes on the cosmetic side with the new jumpers to be unveiled in Monday's game. If you're a Demon through and through you should be pleased. The club has also announced its 2017 leadership group:- Jack Hutchins (C), Ed Morris (VC), James Munro (VC), Angus Scott (VC), Tom Baker, Jordan Moncrieff, Aloysio Ferreira. The large injury toll among the Demons' AFL list will put pressure on the club in the opening rounds and there will be plenty of new faces for fans to see. I will bring the team selections as soon as they are available on Thursday nights. Due to a change in work schedule I may not be able to provide match reports on a weekly basis so we are on the lookout for Casey regulars to help out either with reports or information on which the Demonland Casey reports can be based. Please PM if you can assist. PETER JACKSON VFL 2017 WILLIAMSTOWN v CASEY SCORPIONS Burbank Oval, Williamstown Monday 17 April, 2017 at 2.00pm WILLIAMSTOWN B: 7. N. Sing, 31. D. Fahey, 19. D. 8. The Casey Demons game for round 1 will be against Williamstown on Easter Monday at Burbank Oval at 2.00pm.
  9. It's all over but not in the usual way. Both teams have agreed to call time early in the last quarter with the Casey Demons winning by 6 goals. A huge downpour, wild winds and lightning have conspired to bring the game to a premature end. The score remained unchanged from ¾ time.
  10. 3QT: Casey Demons 13.12.90 to Werribee Tigers 8.6.54 as the weather sets in.
  11. QT: Casey Demons opened with the wind and lead 5.6.36 to 1.0.6 after dominating the term.
  12. Seven goal win to the Casey Demons DL team 18.5.113 to Werribee Tigers 11.5.71.
  13. 3QT: Casey Demons 12.4.76 to Werribee Tigers 9.4.58
  14. That was a big second quarter with the wind for the Casey Development boys - they lead 9.2.56 to 6.2.38
  15. Development League QT: Werribee Tigers 5.1.31 to Casey Demons 1.0.6 Goal to East
  16. The VFL season starts with a split round over the next fortnight with the Casey Demons kicking things off on Saturday evening against Williamstown. It sounds crazy to me that the season starts this way but at least it might give the club a chance to take delivery of the Casey Demons gear because up until now, they've been rigged out in the Scorpions gear. This might come as a shock to some people but I believe the first televised game of the season will involve Collingwood playing Coburg. It really is about time that a Collingwood game was played live and free to air. I will endeavour to relay scores from time to time from the club's practice game v Werribee as commitments allow today.
  17. The VFL is actually starting this weekend with a split round to open proceedings. Casey has Seniors and Development League involved in practice matches against Werribee at Casey Fields but other commitments mean I won't be able to attend this week.
  18. You've been watching the Development League video (i.e. the second one). # 72 is Mykelti Lefau. Goy Lok was # 30 in the main game.
  19. Tom Bugg would be a good chance according to the AFL websites review of the State Leagues from the weekend. Melbourne State league affiliate: Casey Demons (VFL) This weekend: Casey Demons v Box Hill Hawks - Saturday, April 1, 1.30pm, Casey Fields FRINGE Melbourne midfielder Tomas Bugg showed he was too good for the reserves in Casey's three-point win against Box Hill at Casey Fields on Saturday, Demons coach Justin Plapp said. Bugg ran through the VFL midfield after being the emergency for the senior team in round one of the AFL season. He played 18 games last year in his first season at Melbourne. Plapp told AFL.com.au Bugg could not have done much more to earn a spot in Simon Goodwin's side. "We were delighted with his output today. He missed out a week ago and ended up being the carryover. He played at a really high level. He played like an AFL player at VFL level," Plapp said. Josh Wagner (broken fibula) and Sam Frost (toe) both played a half in their return from injury. Ruckman Jake Spencer impressed Plapp, as did speedy forward Dean Kent. Ben Kennedy, an emergency for the senior team, didn't play for Casey. The Demons kicked a late goal to win the practice match, 10.15 (75) to 10.12 (72).
  20. Bugg shines in VFL practice match Bugg did well but I was just as happy with Dean Kent's work and though Frost and Wagner were eased through the game, both were impressive.
  21. Not for mine. He seemed a little sluggish to me which I found a little strange in light of the fact that he was supposed to have dropped weight since his shoulder operation.
  22. He was quiet in the first half. Spent most of his time in a forward line that wasn't really functioning for most of the first half - they didn't kick their first goal until the 20 minute mark of the second quarter. Also had a stint in the ruck. Did better in the second half (who didn't?) and ended with a hard earned goal and contributed well. Looks much more like an AFL listed player than he did last year and looks in good shape for his tilt at a game in the ranks of the elite.
