Savage is contracted till end 2015. Unless he is unhappy or believes his opportunities are limited I doubt that he would request a trade. If he and Hawthorn could be convinced to trade we would probably have to pay overs for him. http://www.couriermail.com.au/sport/afl/shane-savage-commits-to-the-hawks/story-e6frepf6-1226406222818

Should have taken Rockliff instead as he was training with us. The Club decided to take Rockliff in the rookie draft but were gazumped by Brisbane in the PSD.

Keep Boyd as it's not often that these type of players become available. Unless you finish near the bottom there is no chance of getting a player like Boyd. Like that saying at Hawthorn. "What would you do if God came to Hawthorn?" Answer: Move Peter Hudson to CHF. Hogan,Dawes,& Clark can all play different positions. Clark can play ruck, Dawes or Hogan could play a key back role etc. While is may take a year longer to get the midfield right it should not be at the expense of a Boyd.

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
Theo replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm sure the AFL are doing everything in their power to ensure the players get off. Their own self interest is paramount in all of this because they want Essendon in the competition in 2014 and beyond in order to meet theit TV rights and sponsor obligations. However, Clause 62, 67 & 68 of the "Notice of Charges" should be a sticking point. (62) On January 18 2012 the Essendon FC was charged by Como for 7 vials of Hexarelin and 26 vials of Thymosin at a total cost of $9,860. (67) On 8 February 2012, at a meeting with players at the Club, Dank introduced four substance that were purportedly approved for use in accordance with the Protocol: namely AOD-9604, Thymosin, Colostrum and Tribulus. (68) Following that meeting 38 players signed "Patient Information Informed Consent" forms in relation to these four substances. In relation to these substnces 38 players agreed to. (a) one AOD-9604 injection per week for the season (b) one Thymosin injection per week for six weeks and then once per month © two Colostrum daily and (d) one Tribulus Forte daily If the dosages on the "Patient Info Form" were administered the playing group would receive more than 1,500 injections of AOD-9694 and Thymosin. In my lay opinion, unless Essendon can produce the vials unopened the onus of proof should be with Essendon and the players to prove that they were not injected with these banned or "not approved for human use" substances. If there is no documented information to support their assertions then infraction notices should be given to players. It seems pretty clear to me that these 38 players did receive some or all of these substances as per their signed "Patient Consent/Info" form. -
This is a good website for AFL. Has good write-ups on draft prospects and a 2013 Mock Draft. http://boundforglorynews.com/2013-rising-stars-phantom-draft/

All I want for Xmas is for Jessie Hogan to fall in love with a Melbourne girl and they stay together for at least 10 years.

How can Craig Cameron and Barry Prendergast get it so wrong. The recruiters are just about the most important people at a football club and we have failed miserably. I have some faith in Todd and Jason but then againg who nows. If we had followed Quigley or Knightmares phantom drafts we would have ended up with Atley or Lycett, Aaron Black and Nathan Vardy. No Gysberts, Cook ot Tapscott.
-
Time to trade Watts, Sylvia, Blease and Tapscott why they have some currency. I doubt also whether Grimes and Trengove would get a game elsewhere. Would need 3 or 4 priority picks to make this team competitive.

Erectile dysfunction is a bi-product of a radical prostatectomy following prostate cancer. Maybe he thought Dank could help him get his end up.

Didn't Dunn get a 2 yr contract till 2014?

What I do remember was attending the 'Walk to the G' at Fed Square prior to the first game against the Swans in 2011. CC and CS both told the faithful that all we needed to do was to get games into players (a hundred was mentioned) and we WILL have a big window of opportunities for premierships. This was either corporate spin or their total lack of knowledge of the playing group. I suspect the latter. The boys club has led the members and supporter up the garden path for far too long. It appears to me that they were nothing but imposters that have made us the laughing stock we are today.

Grgic was better than Watts.

Robert Shaw, Mark Fine and talkback callers yesterday from Carlton agree. These guys and Betts go missing when the heat is on.Would not touch any of them.

He was highlighted on TAC Cup Future stars yesterday and won thr bestplayer award for his game in a losing side last weekend. He had 39 disposals and has averaged 36 in the TAC this year. A prolific inside/outside ball winner. Then only knock on him is his kicking. Would love him and Sheed and Battersby. Matt Crouch, North Ballarat Rebels 181cm 80kg Comparison: Matthew Boyd Crouch is a top-notch inside midfielder who excels at winning the hard ball. He is exceptionally tough and has an outstanding work ethic. Crouch, the brother of Adelaide's Brad, represented Vic Country at the U18 Championship despite having a broken hand. Crouch is a player that will go about his business without fuss for all four quarters. He is a leader at the North Ballarat Rebels, Crouch's character is shown in the way he plays. Like Bulldog Matthew Boyd, Crouch is a master of winning clearances around the ground, he is a true blue-collar worker. The defensive pressure that he applies is also very beneficial to his team. Unfortunately for Crouch, like Boyd he can often struggle with his kicking. Crouch's kicking must improve if he is to become a top tier player in the league.

It doesn't matter who the coach is. The recruitment decisions and the lack of development is killing this club.

To name a few, Davey, Blease, Sylvia, Dunn, Howe (great trade option), McKenzie, Grimes, Watts. Byrnes, Pederson, Rodan

A talk-back caller on KB's show this morning said that Jeff Chapman has been approached as a possible President. Jeff played 2 games for MFC under Norm Smith. He is on BRW's rich list at No.75. http://www.theage.com.au/victoria/shortlived-demon-becomes-a-longtime-saint-20110527-1f8lb.html http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/good-sport-is-a-man-of-mystery/story-e6frf7jo-1111117658776

If the MFC was even half smart (regardless of what other clubs did) they would have picked Garlett as a late rookie last year, even if they let him stay in the WAFL for most of the year. No other club was going to pick him up and we had very little to lose. This club needs to think outside the box because Garlett was a top 10 on ability alone and now he is going to be highly sought after with clubs having to use a competitive ND selection rather than a cheap rookie pick.

James Hird said at the beginning of the investigation that he took full responsibility. Why has he not resigned with Evans and Robson.

I have more faith in the recruiting staff under Viney and Taylor than I have before. Terlich, Matt Jones for example have been a positive. Our Pro-Scout Kelly O'Donnell probably had input to these selections. I would not give up pick 2 unless it was a Presia, Dangerfield, Sloane, or a Harley Bennell type. I would certainly not take Daisy Thomas as he is injury prone and certainly not a pick 2. We have Jones x2, Trengove, Viney and Toumpas. Sylvia also has stints in the middle. I think we have to just offload the lazy players in the team such as Davey and Blease and get rid of the players that are just not up to it or not going to take us anywhere such as Pederson, Byrnes, McKenzie, Strauss. Most teams have their half forwards having stints running through the middle. Apart from Sylvia ours don't seem capable of this at this stage i.e Howe/Kent. I'd give the recruiters a chence to get it right with picks in this years draft.

ETIHAD INVADED BY SPECTATORS! ... CALL SECURITY by George on The Outer
Theo replied to Demonland's topic in Match Reports
You sound as tired and frustrated by all this as me. Who are these lazy players that continually fail to run both ways, don't man-up, don't spread, don't trust their teamates etc. Who are the serial offenders or are some of our players just not AFL standard. Sadly, I believe Davey is lazy and should not be in the team, likewise Blease doesn't have a defensive bone in his body and doesen't care about anybody but himself. Tapscott does not do enough and may never reach AFL standard. Trengove would not get a game in most other teams. Grimes has little or no influence on any game he plays. Watts plays like a girl, Byrnes and Pederson are C Graders. Players that played VFL yesterday that also add nothing when in the side are McKenzie, Jetta, Strauss and Spencer. I wouldn't care if we offloaded the lot of them and started again. In their first year Terlich, Matt Jones and even Clisby have show more desire to win the ball and do something positive than this other lot. -
Would be happy if they traded Grimes, Trengove, Davey, Burns, Blease, McKenzie, Pederson, Dunn and Gillies. Nothing but a pack of plodders and one-way runners.
-
Trengove, Grimes, Davey, Blease, Watts, Burns pathetic. Happy if they traded the lot. Some credit to Jones Sylvia and Clisby.

Wer'e gifting Toumpas games. Apart from a reasonable performance against Geelong he has been nothing more than a little boy lost out there. If Taggert played last week and had no possessions till half time he would have been dropped this week. They are playing favourites and I'm sure other players know this and get [censored] off accordingly. I'd give Taggert 3 games in a row even if he is subbed-out at 3 qtr time. We have nothing to lose at this stage of the year.
