I'm a bit bummed so far with this season. The Pistons don't seem to have made much progress and my other team, Brooklyn, don't fill me with much confidence. I was also looking forward to seeing the Timberwolves start their climb, but they've unfortunately been curtailed by injuries. I think the fear of the new luxury tax has hit OKC the hardest. Losing Harden is a real game changer for the team. The Lakers are creeping ever closer to a finals berth. Can they get past Houston? And how about that Curry? What was it, 54 points against NYK? Pity they still lost. Good news is that Bogut is back, so can only hope they have a good run leading up to the finals. And now for something completely different. And some old school Bill Russell. Wow.
  2. Only televised on Foxfooty. You can catch it on radio though, 3AW, Triple M, SEN or Fiveaa.
  3. Fair point. I wonder if they were eligible for a Medicare rebate?
  4. There's a limit to the amount of vitamin c that a person can take at any one time. And only a small percentage of that will make it's way into the blood stream. For a sports person, who's body is under an enormous amount of stress, I would imagine IV would be the most effective way of getting vitamin c into their systems. I don't think there's anything sinister about this practice, the issue is if and what else was administered.
  5. I'll add it to my to do list. I really enjoy finding great early artists. Here's a catchy song I heard on a youtube ad, took me a while to track it down. Jack Jack 5.0
  6. Will he ever? I haven't heard much of Ozzy, but I like that one, He's got a pretty impressive band backing him too. That's awesome.
  7. Stephen Dank openly marketed banned substances For someone that refuses to do interviews, he certainly knows how to draw attention to himself.
  8. Thanks. Pretty incredible stuff. Vlad will be having a few sleepless nights.
  9. Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but I was reading a discussion where someone mentioned that AFL HQ has no discretionary powers over any bans handed down by the ASADA. Meaning that, depending on how many players where involved, there's a very real possibility of them not being able to field a team this season. Can anyone confirm this?

  11. One of the most absurd statements I've ever read. It's just an overly emotive opinion piece. To call it rubbish would be giving it too much credit.

It's been another interesting few days in the NBA. I haven't heard how bad the injury is but Howard left late in the loss against the Suns with a shoulder injury. Not good new for the Lakers. Rudy Gay has been traded to the Raptors, Jose Calderon finds himself in Detroit (might be a good move for him, I hear real estate is pretty cheap there at the moment) and Tayshuan Prince lands at the Grizzlies (And some other bits and pieces, leaving the Grizzlies under the tax threshold and the Pistons with more cap space). A bit sad to see Prince go, he's been a one team and championship player for the Pistons, but that's the nature of the business I guess. Miami are starting to gain a bit of momentum, they looked a bit shaky earlier in the season but are on a 13-0 run. And an Australia Day tweet from Patty Mills (Is he wearing the women's uniform?)

Some big things have happened over the last few days. Boston reeling from Rondo rupturing his ACL. Can they go deep into the finals without him? I doubt it, I think we might see a few trades from them in the next few weeks. Lakers beat OKC. I hope it's a sign they've turned the corner. And oh joy of joys, the Bogut is back. And it sees the return of the Bogometer over on NBAMate vs Toronto (W) 29/01/13 Pts 12 Reb 8 Blk 4 Ass 2 Stl 1 60% He's Baack! And did I miss another coach being sacked? Phoenix? Edit: Oh yeah, and something about the Kings being sold. Seriously, who couldn't see that coming? Bit of a shame the Maloofs are screwing over the loyal Sacramento fans and selling out to a Seattle based group, but that just seems to be their style.
  14. Oh yeah, I forgot about the new series. I'll take that over a movie anyday. I was reading somewhere that the movie has yet to be confirmed and is still unlikely (particularly if they're tying up the story lines in the new series) If I track down the series before you I'll let you know. I was a bit skeptical when I started watching the Walking Dead, but it didn't take long to get engrossed in the series. 3 seasons of gory goodness.

Dwightmare II: An LA Story It really seems quite incredible that the Lakers find themselves in this situation. I guess this is more of a media spin, kicking you while you're down, but certainly I could not have imagined LA's season going so badly (for whatever reason). Will there be any moves? And if so who? Player or coach?
  16. Tobias: Okay, Lindsay, are you forgetting that I was a professional twice over: an analyst and a therapist, the world’s first “analrapist.” Priceless. Is the movie still due this year?
  17. I can't seem to stop listening to this song by Matt Corby. I believe he was in Australian Idol or something similar a few years ago. The song did pretty well in Triple J's Hottest 100 from memory too. Jack Jack 4.9

Well there's another coach to add to the list, Scott Skiles and Milwaukee have reportedly parted ways. I wonder what the odds are for the Lakers sacking 2 coaches in 1 season?

The Nets have sacked Avery Johnson. Bit of a surprise after getting coach of the month in November. Any predictions for a replacement? SVG, Phil Jackson? With the money they've been throwing around with contracts I doubt they'll go after an untried head coach. Money doesn't seem to be a problem, so I reckon they'll push hard for Jackson.
  21. The great Dave Brubeck passed away a few days ago at the ripe old age of 91 (one day before his 92nd birthday). One of the all time great jazz composers. Jack Jack's Jazz 3.6 http://youtu.be/8nZxWo1nEEM http://youtu.be/NDB4K5zCcfk
  22. Well there you go. I must admit it was refreshing to hear him say that it was a mistake to let so many US businesses relocate to other countries and that they had to work to get more jobs back and increase manufacturing and small business. It'd be nice to hear that from our Prime Minister. I know Obama had promised health care costs would drop during his first term, but I'm probably just splitting hairs with that.
  23. Yes, well I should have balanced that by saying the other joke is that electing Romney is like backing up the Titanic and running into a different iceberg. Romney was a poor choice. So I'd probably have to agree that Obama was the better of the two candidates. It still doesn't make him a good President. Healthcare costs have risen well above prediction. The debt ceiling keeps rising along with the jobless rate. The mess that Bush, the US and their sub-prime mortgages got everyone involved with actually started with Clinton, who repealed banking regulations which had originally separated commercial banking and investment/securities.The Bush sub-prime mortgage debacle was just a train wreck waiting to happen
  24. Viney set Demon Standard Looks like it was an interesting training session.

It's early I know, but it may change quickly so I'll take it while it's there. Rookie Ladder - November 14
