See ya fellas.

Dirty_14 is a Carltank player. Brock something?

Crikey so I should only have music by genuine working class types cause only they can be authentic. Sheesh..off to throw out CDs by Gram Parsons, Townes VanZandt, The GoBetweens and the Triffids to name a few...
Kudos to Nick Cave & Tim Rogers for never selling out and consistently making good rock n roll.
I'd be up for a fan trade with North. Our noted talk back caller Chris from Camberwell goes to North in a straight swap for North's Tim Rogers. North get much needed SEN tallback presence and we get additional music cred to add to the likes of David Bridie and Ella Hooper.
Hey they can keep Tim Rodgers. We've already got Andrew Cox from the great Melbourne band, The Fauves.

Get off your high horse RR! Rivers has been In our top 5 all year and stood up even when we were getting mauled early in the season. I think Tom Mc will be a champion for the next 10 years, but he'll be even better with Rivers around for the 3 or so years. That's a keep from me.

Tom has been fantastic this year and has been regularly beating his opponents at FB or CHB. Yes, his skills and decision making are still sub par but one thing that can't be forgotten is that he is still 19 years old!
There is plenty of upside with McDonald, he is going to be a ripper.

Unless Green pulls the pin himself, I think he should play again next year.
Watching him against the Suns it is obvious what he brings the side in terms of experience and skill.
As has been said previously, He is on the Vet's list so he isn't taking a spot on the main list.

We need to get Rivers back into the backline.
He'd be doing much better than Garland has tonight!

I'm here, Good work Nasher & team!

Suspect it will be Martin & Bail if fit, or Tapscott if they're looking for a forward to replace Aaron.
The outs will come from the extended bench, Tapscott is named in the forward pocket, I think it will be Tapscott & Martin in, possibly Bail as well but I can't see Blease being dropped.

Barlow came back super fast and was playing great football too.
Michael Barlow broke his leg in Round 14 2010 and didn't appear again at senior level until Rd 13 2011 and was still nowhere near his best until this year.
Strauss will be back but we need to be patient before judging how well he comes back.

I like the new jumper with just the mouse & the sponsor name over the jumper. The "orange" background looks stuck on, out of place & easily removed. The newer version looks like it belongs.

6 - Rivers
5 - Bate
4 - Moloney
3 - Jones
2 - Howe

Team for round 1:
B: Joel Macdonald, James Frawley, Clint Bartram
HB: Rohan Bail, Jared Rivers, Colin Garland
C: Jack Watts, Jack Grimes, Nathan Jones
HF: Jack Trengove, Brad Green, Jeremy Howe
F: Aaron Davey, Mitch Clark, Stef Martin
FOLL: Mark Jamar, Brent Moloney, James Magner
I/C: Matthew Bate, Jordie McKenzie, Sam Blease, Josh Tynan
EMG: Lynden Dunn, Tom Couch, James Sellar
That's a fairly ginger looking bench!
Tynan & Magner to debut, Grimes in the centre & Watts on the wing?

Didn't we have this exact same thread last year?
IMO it sounds great, a lot more dynamic than the old '60s master of the song that we've been hearing for years.

Goodbye Big Jim, you will be missed by many. Today is sad day, but every time we think of you, it will be happy & fond memories of the great man you were.
RIP Number 11...

Yeah, let's not pretend that there was a single person who read this thread and went "oh I'm sure it will all be just fine, who cares". If you didn't experience a little bit of vomit in the mouth, you are not human.
It just seems to hit at this time of year and as a Demon fan we've been through this too many times to take anything for granted. Good luck to "Good Times", at least he can keep his fitness up while recuperating. Bring on Round 1 already!

we won 5 games in 2003 so it don't count. ;-)
Actually it does, the priority pick at that stage was awarded to teams winning less that 5 1/2 games. Bulldogs, Carlton and The Demons were awarded priority picks in the 2003 draft with which Cooney, Andrew Walker & Sylvia were selected.

Just compliled this statistic. Our last win against any of Geelong, Saints, Pies, Carlton, Hawks, Bulldogs and North was round 11, 2006 when we downed the Pies. Since then a combined losing streak of 45 games and one draw against the cream of Victorian clubs. Ouch! Perhaps the only rivalry that may exist is between other clubs to see who can maintain the longest winning streak against us. Essendon and Richmond must feel humiliated at being left out of the challenge.
I think you will find we did beat the Magpies, Carlton and Dogs in 2007. Our last win against those sides was against the Blues in Rd 22 2007 in the so called "Kreuzer Cup".
But as any of us on here should now, the only 2 Victorian teams we have beaten since then are Richmond & Essendon and we of course drew with the Pies in Rd 12 2010.

1. Jimma
2. Allen Jakovich - He may not have been around for long but for 4 seasons he was electric to watch
3. David Neitz - He was just a step below being a champion, but he was a rock for the Demons whether down back or up forward for 15 years
4. Stinga - We never quite saw the best of Tingay due to injuries but when he was on the field he gave his all
5. Glenn Lovett - See 4
6. Chippa Frawley - All-Australian at 21, best key back for the MFC in the past 20 years
7. Aaron Davey - Has been down for the past couple of years but from 2004 - 2009 I loved to watch him play, I just hope he can get back to that form
8. Jeff White - The definition of a flawed champion, he was in the best ruckmen in the league for almost 10 years but never quite had the right midfield around him.
9. Garry Lyon - A great player, great captain. He was the face of the club for 10 years
10. The Ox - Even after 3 knee reconstructions he gave the MFC all he could

And let's not forget Tom Harley who couldn't get a game at Port Adelaide or Rhyce Shaw who fell out of favour at the Filth.
There are plenty of success stories of recycled players at new clubs who were out of favour at the club they left, Just as there a storiesof big recruits who were failures.
We won't have any indication until at least 6 months time, when the new guys have a few games under their belt, how well we have done.
