It's amazing now looking back at that. What a shambles of a club we were by making 2 x 21 yo boys captains. And whats worse is there weren't better candidates. Not knocking the boys but wowee we were in a bad spot.

Clarence Oliver
Also need to consider the absence of Viney. Without looking up stats as well, I reckon Clarry was a lot more damaging as the 2nd mid. I'm very excited to see Viney, Clarry, Brayshaw and Tracc running in the centre all together. We just need some outside class to complement them now.

Come on optimists, sell me hope
I actually agree with the assessment of the first half, I don't think we played that well yesterday as a collective. We are not an elite team. We still can't play 4 consistent qtrs. We are still in development and don't have a settled side in set positions and roles yet (by my observation and injuries - ie Viney). Rambling but it was good to see Gus play as a pure mid for the first time as well yesterday. But we are not the pathetic MFC of old, that's where I don't understand the over reaction and consistent negativity on Demonland. I was going to start a thread myself yesterday. To see who had the balls to call us making and not making the eight this year. I do not think we are a certainty but the competition is so close that we are not out of it. The next 3 weeks are a HUGE indicator of how well we are going to go this season and we should be looking at winning al three.

Rather be an optimist then waste my time on Demonland with the Debbie Downers

The youngest most inexperienced side
Cant argue with that. But the three you've mentioned are not the majority of the dynamic of the team. The majority have played less then 100 games. Are you saying those 3 should be able to carry the side? The question were asking/discussing here is how long until these guys under 100 games click? And when do Hogan, Oliver brayshaw and tracc become regular game winners?

Kids will only play well based on the others around them. Richmond have a core group of very good experienced leaders topped up with young talent. Not quite the same situation as is right now. Oir game winners jave played less then 100 games and the others are injured. Im not using it as an excuse as a team we've been shown up the past couple of weeks.

Brendan McCartney - Moved to the bench
I'd pay money to watch you say that to BMs face.

Brendan McCartney - Moved to the bench
Until you're the head of football operations no one cares. No offence but seriously why bother arguing about something neother of us have any idea about. Just ride it out. And if the fd [censored] it up they'll be out

Post Match Discussion - Round 4
It is a fair point SWYL, I accept that. I just don't like hysteria. You can say the exact same thing about Richmond, that they were "mentally fragile"". Years of under achievement, the it just clicked for them. And I'm no apologist, I believe we have massive issues with defence etc. But issues can be fixed. Round 4 is a little early for hysteria. We have some very winnable games by round 12, if at halfway we are negative win loss ration, I think big questions should and will be asked. Was it Tracc or someone said there were no excuses this year, so I expect them to get it right. But Demonland goes too far sometimes, people need to drop the emotions and think more.

SHUT UP I'M SICK OF THE NEGATIVITY
We lost the game on the outside. Its been our biggest weakness for a fair few years now. If anyone wants to bag Goodwin, that's what it's about. Hawks outclassed us on the outside.
