  1. Trac just needs to fix his set shot goal kicking. Other than that, he's been playing some good footy the past month or two. This season he's averaged 18 disposals and one goal. He's missing most of his set shots though (set shot accuracy of 32%). If he nailed more of those, he'd already be a 18 touch 2-3 goal a game player. That's the difference between good and great for him - set shots. It's all in his head, as when he's playing on instinct he hits the goals nearly every time! I don't think he's ever going to a superstar of the competition like we first hoped, but if can lift his output to average 20 disposals and 2 goals a game for remainder of his career, he'd be deemed a gun half forward and very important part of our team.
  2. This draft is packed full of midfielders and smaller types. Unfortunately there isn't much in the way of tall forwards, which is an area we are lacking in. Will be interesting to see who we wind up with in the top 5 and if we can land a small forward like Weightman with our second round pick (if we still have it heading into the draft). A classy skilled midfielder with pace and a quality small forward would be a good result.
  3. With TMac out for the rest of the year, it's now Weideman as the lone tall forward. Hopefully he is able to stand up and build some form!
  4. Ofcourse TMac is out for the year. Thanks 2019, you've been a blast!
  5. We're likely going to finish with pick 3-5 it seems. If we can't land Anderson, then it's out of Kemp, Serong and Ash for mine. Kemp plays both forward and midfield, and he's a great size for either IMO. When in the midfield, is he far more inside? Could he be developed to be outside midfielder? He's certainly got pace and kicking skills, though with his size it would seem odd to wind up an outside midfielder. He's right at the top of our list though Id imagine, as he could improve our forward half and develop to be a gun mid in time. Serong does seem a good safe bet as a small forward/midfielder. Definite Robbie Gray type, and would immediately improve our forward half. He's a quality footballer who just needs to build consistency and build his body. Ash I'm not sure about. Definitely capable as a quick rebounding half back, but I haven't seem enough of him in the midfield to know whether he could be the outside mid we're crying out for. If he doesn't have scope to be a midfielder, then I'm not sure he's the best option, as our backline is well stocked compared to the front half. In terms of potential, Kemp seems a level above. He needs to learn to find more ball, but he's got all the attributes to be a special player.
  6. No SA players are good enough to go top 5 this year, let alone pick 2. After beating Carlton today we’ve probably missed out on Anderson now ? Who suits us best at pick 3? Ash? Kemp? Serong?
  7. A match against Carlton without Cripps, Curnow and McKay is probably biggest gift in footy and we still nearly squandered it. I’m relieved and disgusted at the same time. Happy we got the win with 3 down on the bench, but jeez we should’ve been up by 10 goals at 3 qtr time anyway!
  8. This pathetic season is on the coaches IMO. The players for the most part have won the clearances and territory battle to win inside 50s, but are losing games. They’re doing what the coaches ask them to, but what they’re being asked to do is play a losing game. I wouldn’t be against a big coaching clear out come end of season.
  9. Maxy probably wont be able to do much about it from the sidelines. He’s highly unlikely to play.
  10. 6 years worth of rebuild and we’re fighting for second last place. Pathetic. This club kills me.
  11. Based on that you'd think Kobe will wind up at Freo if he is good enough to make an AFL list. Wiz talking about coming back to Freo now after 11 years, getting involved there again, his love for Freo, urging people to buy memberships and support Freo. Kobe lives there, his dad is now at Freo again, he'll go to Freo. Shame as he could've been what we needed - a small forward with a bit of magic!
  12. And rightly so. We’ve been pathetic this season and are a joke amongst the league again. Brisbane absolutely embarrassed us on the weekend, thrashing us around the stoppages - the core of our gameplan apparently. It was insulting and shows how far we’ve fallen since the second half of last year. Until there is a big change in gamestyle, every team in the league would rightly pencil in a win against us. Even Carlton this weekend would fancy themselves after knocking off Freo in Perth minus Cripps and Curnow!
  13. Members have done their bit. The club has not. Disappointing result for all.
  14. I’ve been banging on about Noah Anderson all year. As sad as it is, we might actually land him!
  15. It’s a fair point you raise kongwacker, but I think it’s more to do with lack of structure and opposition pressure than our players possessions not being damaging enough. Clarry is the perfect example. He’s my favorite player, but sometimes he makes me tear my hair out. Some weeks he absorbs opposition pressure, takes a tackle, holds the ball high and passes off to a free team mate. Other weeks he plays hot potato and handballs immediately for no reason and just shifts opposition pressure to his teammate. It comes down to that oppo pressure, but also our structure. He doesn’t want to move it quickly because he doesn’t trust our forwards to contest etc. Solve our structural problems and teach the players to absorb pressure and not [censored] the bed. Our possessions will then have more meaning.
  16. Carlton will be without Cripps and C Curnow. If we lose to them it will be up there as one of our worst losses in decades. Absolutely gutting how this year has turned out for us. Pathetic.
  17. Baker showing why he was delisted from Brisbane without getting a game. Looks a mile off it and has been caught more times than any player I can remember. Get Gawn off the field. He’s clearly injured so why bother risking making the injury worse!
  18. Tim Smith isn’t afl standard. Time to [censored] him off and bring Pruess in as a tall option and take some pressure off Gawn.
  19. Game over. What a [censored] waste of time this club is. Midfield has been pathetic today. Their effort around the centre bounces has been shameful - Max dominating or not.
  20. [censored] our midfield is [censored]. We need to bring some skill in over the offseason. This is so hard to watch us win the hard ball then [censored] up over and over.
  21. Defensive running by Baker was shocking there. Cost us a goal. We’re making a meal of easy opportunities going forward and are lucky they haven’t kicked straight.
  22. Baker having a poor game. TMac looking good again. We should win today.
  23. Carn Dees! Fire up and bully these bastards!
  24. They’re currently 7th, so middle of the road this year. We’re currently 11th and not great this year.
