  1. Agree with many Joeboy, but have taken the liberty of adding my thoughts

    Jones - prolific not influential

    Vince - never stopped trying

    Hogan - was obviously restricted

Watts - it's not basketball  Gutsy and clean

    Petracca - a few cameos

Dawes - had no impact Impacted many contests

Viney - tried but overwhelmed Hand still sore

    Trengove - had no spark

    Gawn - conditions nullified influence

    Tyson - was easily outmuscled

    Oliver - was rarely sighted

Stretch - missing at sea Should've been Mitchie

    Kent - probably went overboard

    Frost - rough but willing

T.McDonald - a steady game Brain fades annoy

O.McDonald - lacked footy smarts Tried but inexperienced

    Hunt - brave and attacking

    Bugg - was rarely noticed

    Kennedy - had no impact

vandenBerg- surprisingly quiet game Should've been Grimes

    Jetta - barely bothered scorers

    Wagner - tried but failed

  2. His kick across the face of goal that put O-Mac under pressure early stages of the 3rd when we were 4 goals down which resulted in a goal to the Swans had me losing my $hit beyond belief and nearly demolishing my lounge room!!

Seriously?! I am not a T-Mac basher but the bloke has some of the worst brain fades I have ever witnessed...

  3. It is looking like some serious rain in the next 45 mins and then another front coming through in time for the last quarter...

Looking forward to this one like not many before it this year...

I want to see how we go with this test!

    So...

Thought maybe this had been said so started reading last few pages and figured after the first that I could probably take my chances.

I'm loving Watts' trick of finding position to mark or gather the bouncing ball, and seeming to get his opponent into a spot where Jack can just put his head down and run around the player. He's doing it a lot and I think his acceleration and then quality of delivery is a real asset of his game. I didn't know he was that quick until this year.

I also reckon he's doing a job in the ruck, and agree with whoever mentioned how his agility and skills also basically make him another midfielder

It's a joy to watch when he is up and about and gets it right...

His draft camp results gave an indication of the potential.

    20-Meter Sprint (seconds)

    1. Ashley Smith – 2.80
    2. Jack Watts – 2.82
    3. Stephen Hill – 2.83
    4. Nicholas Naitanui – 2.86
    5. Tom Swift – 2.89
    6. Ryan Shoenmakers – 2.90
    7. Nick Heyne – 2.91
    =7. Sam Blease – 2.91
    9. Luke Shuey – 2.92
    =9. Taylor Hunt – 2.92
    =9. Matthew DeBoer – 2.92

    Agility (seconds)

    1. Stephen Hill – 7.77 (new camp record)
    2. Jack Watts – 8.03
    3. James Strauss – 8.18
    4. Nick Suban – 8.25
    5. Ayce Cordy – 8.27
    6. Shaun McKernan – 8.31
    7. Neville Jetta – 8.32
    =7. Dan Hannebery – 8.32
    9. Luke Shuey – 8.34
    10. Liam Jones – 8.35

    I trust your sight Kerazzy.

I'd be thinking about the little Pres & Sam Day, packaged up together, from GCS's?    But who do you think we may have to trade with them, KJ ?

Would you trade Wagner, Dawes, Dunn + our 2nd Rnd pick ?

Although it would be a bit harsh on young Wagner, I would not hesitate in the slightest to make that trade... Of course this is all hypothetical as GC would be mad to complete that trade...

Plus, if you believe the BS that comes out of the local SA media, the Crows are all over Day like white on rice

the issue with crouch is the value.

before injury, easily worth a first rounder - possibly plus something else that was fairly decent.

    since then, not so much.

still, if you could prise him from adelaide for a single first rounder, would do it. same with prestia.

so say we luck out and could either for the low, low price of 2017 first round pick - which one?

The issue with Crouch is the fact that he is more in love with the p155 than he is the football...

Punts and drinks like a machine....

And if anyone wants to know my source.... It's my own eyes on a weekly basis

    Fair enough.

IMO, Harmes' disposal has been atrocious whether wet or dry. It was no better vs Port last week in the sun than vs Hawthorn. He turns the ball over almost every time he touches it, at the moment.

I think that we can all agree that on today's form and given our opponent next week, we will be seeing BenKen ready to make a statement on QBD... Who misses is anyone's guess

    The most likely

I honestly wouldn't make too many changes from the side that played yesterday... Agree that Jeffy, Kent, Harmes and Oscar have not been great but with Dunn going down today I think we make 1 change only... BenKen for Kent unless injuries force other changes...

OMac needs to keep playing and is less of a liability than Olaf imho

  9. Jack's season has been phenomenal so far... The fact that he is having to pinch hit in the ruck is a blight on our ruck stocks (albeit a few injuries)... Jack is a smart user of the ball and blokes with football brains are worth their weight in gold!

Big QBD coming up for this young man...

You are a true Demon supporter meant in the nicest way.

Standard week for me this season....

Mon - Wed = Full of confidence either that we will bounce back or string another win together

Thurs = Begin to have doubts about selection and the anxiety begins to come in small waves

Fri = Footy weekend begins and generally end up watching a cracking game of footy on TV, albeit not involving Melbourne

Game Day = Stomach in knots, anxiety is more like a tidal wave, borderline myocardial infarction for 3 hours, followed by beers of joy or sorrow

My heart beats true for the wins that are few

and I try hard not to spew,

Should all the losses be forgot

keep your eye on the Red and the Blue!

The next day would've been fine if I didn't hit the wine,

that's the reason that I feel so sick, sick, sick

I feel like death so please don't yell,

thanks to Dazza and those other pricks!

I like it but don't see it happening but good thinking. It makes sense but Dawes is short of a gallop.

I just have a horrible feeling that if our midfield is not 'ON' and they start heaping the inside 50s on us then we may struggle to contain the likes of Coxon and Hipsterhoff...

If this is the case then we will more than likely see one of Watts or Hogan dropping back any way...

But then again, I am ignoring the fact that this is a vastly different Melbourne side with a nice balance of skill, effort, toughness & confidence...

I should just relax and enjoy the win!

  12. Have a funny feeling that Dawes may get a run...

Would O-Mac out/Dawes in be a crazy move?  Considering we could more than likely then use Watts as a defender (who has accurate field kicking) and play Dawes and Hogan out of the 50... Giving each a chance to move up the ground and present the long lead... With Dawes pinch hitting the ruck...

I made a great junior coach but never graduated to seniors, so don't howl me down people... Would be a risk moving Watts from a position where he has played very well this season but the kid has some confidence now and we all know how that affects certain players
