  1. Just saw the weather forecast… Safe to say, looks like the Victorians are bringing the weather
  2. Here is a classic example of why I have no faith that we have the right people running the AFL https://www.news.com.au/sport/afl/acting-afl-ceo-andrew-dillon-says-rules-are-clear-on-what-is-a-dangerous-tackle/news-story/cd8025c59325fbe58148b949cb56598e The Xavier mafia need to be forced out
  3. Most road kill happens when it’s been very dry out here, in those times you can see a great deal. This year not so much of a problem, though definitely take care of driving at night
  4. For those staying in the CBD area, well worth a walk up ANZAC hill to watch the madness unfold
  5. It’s a brilliant game, in a wonderful setting and often sold out. BTW, sightings of Lungkatta are not too common out here
  6. For all those coming to Alice, don’t expect a great nights sleep on the Saturday night. July 1st is Territory day, the one day a year that firework ms are legal, they sell like hotcakes all day and go off through the night. to call it a bit crazy is an understatement!
  7. I would recommend Discovery Parks, 15-20 minute walk to game, it’s just out of town, but nothing in town is far
  8. If you are staying at one of the campgrounds south of the gap, we should have a few at the Alice Springs Brewery, a popular local… Consider a day trip without trailer to Chmabers Pllar, or to the East Mac’s. Another day trip without the trailer would be palm valley. Returning home, I would strongly suggest a trip to the West Mac’s, a stunning place, stay at Glen Helen the drive the Mereenie loop to Kings Canyon, doing the hike around the canyon. Both of these places are brilliant and the trailer should have no issues with the loop. From the canyon, head to Uluru and Kata Tjuṯa for a few days before heading back south. Just a few suggestions for you, there’s a heap you can do out here, just depends on your timeframe.
  9. Quite definitely Would happily meet up for drinks on Saturday night or after game if any interested?
  10. Do you have a 4wd or not. Helps with suggestions
  11. Way back when the AFL made the head sacrosanct, many thought I was crazy for arguing strongly against it for the reasons you have articulated. When I learned to play football, we were not taught to go head first, it’s a modern technique (and tactic), developed to draw free kicks. By making superficial efforts to protect the head, the AFL have made the game more dangerous and less skilled.
  12. A prediction on where some clowns are taking our game
  13. Saints player Caminiti been offered four matches by the MRO after he brutally knocked out his teammate Mitch Owens. The AFL in the hysterical fear of litigation and trying to be seen as eliminating head contact has deemed Caminiti’s actions and careles, high and severe. The MRO deemed any reasonable person who jumps at the ball should be held responsible for their actions
  14. I would love to see some of these chants today….
  15. These are magnificent
  16. I think you will find that according to many of us, it was definitely a happy ending to that thread
  17. Chandler had the chance to get off the rookie list and go to the Crows, he stayed. I can’t imagine him leaving anytime soon.
  18. How do the Geelong forwards constantly get away with clear and blatant pushing in the back?
  19. Something is seriously wrong with me. Am peed off we are only 44 points in front
  20. GWS about to go a game clear. Reckon Freo are going to hand over pick 4 later this year. That, or preferably, pick 3
  21. Glad the Dees won for a temporary relief for you. Good luck with everything there mate.
  22. Sports not being shut down, they are welcome to run their competition in the communities.
  23. Not sure where you get this information, people overwhelmingly (Arrernte and those living here) and businesses support the mayor, Liddke and the council on this issue
  24. Maybe Gill and his bullying mates should listen to traditional owners like Micheal Liddle, who moved the motion about access to grounds. Maybe the AFL could support communities to build facilities in local communities, like we did in Santa Teresa. But it’s quite typical of the AFL to focus on symbolism whi continuing to do nothing meaningful. What a shameless bunch of ….
