So Macca, for scoring... I think I kind of imagined people would pick the playoffs teams (1 point), Final 8 teams (2 points), championship teams (3 points) and superbowl teams (4 or 5 points or something)... But it seems like everyone's just picked playoff teams. So I guess of your 12 teams selected, you get: 4 points for a superbowl team listed in your twelve (shouldn't be too hard). 3 points for a team that makes the Conference final. 2 if they make division games. 1 if they only qualify for playoffs but get bundled out... So basically it'll come down to who correctly picks the wild card teams.

And as for predictions, I managed to find nice little ladder predictor online where you enter game results and let it put the ladder together for you. Most helpful and intriguing: AFC 1st - Colts 13-3. 2nd - Steelers 13-3, 2nd seed despite worse Div record than Broncos. Work THAT one out. 3rd - Broncos 13-3, 3rd seed. 4th - Patriots 12-4. Lowly 4th seed. 5th - Ravens 11-5. They'll steady. 6th - Chargers 10-6. Will be playing KC in last week for playoffs. I was very, very tempted to pick KC here too. Nothing else notable here. Miami and Browns both 9-7, and Buffalo lose the plot and go 7-9... but noone else really gets close. Cinci somehow 4th in Division but with a 8-7-1 record. Ouch. Jax and Oakland both win one game. NFC 1st - Packers 13-3, 1st seed easily. 2nd - Cards 12-4, Somehow. 2nd seed. 3rd - Eagles 11-5, This one's good. After splitting their games with Dallas, the Eagles have their fate in their hands, just have to beat Giants. Eli throws pick in last second to make it 2 years running Eagles make playoffs with a pick in the dying seconds. Jerry Jones has a coronary and dies. The League institutes the "Jerry" rule the following season, and allows 2 more Wild Card teams. 4th - Saints 9-7, In the end they're the only serious team in a dodgy division. 5th - Seattle 11-5, Just make it in. Dallas end lower due to some tie breaking nonsense. 6th - Lions 11-5, I rate them highly. Megatron to return. Chicago end 8-8 and a disappointment. Carolina 7-8-1. Newton traded to Eagles at end of season. The big news though is Dallas ending on 11-5 and missing out. I couldn't pick the results honestly, so I gave them and the Eagles one each of their match ups, and was unkind to Eagles as I went. Broncos defeat Chargers. Broncos break all sorts of playoff records to win. Ravens in an upset over Pats. Colts smash Ravens. Broncos end Steelers season in a close one. Colts advance to Superbowl with Luck league MVP. Eagles play Lions. Home field advantage gets Philly over the line after Sanchez throws 4 TDs, and 4 picks. Eagles OL decided the difference against ferocious Lions D. Seattle smash Saints soundly. Packers only just get over the line after Wilson throws last second pick in low scoring match. Eagles get revenge over Arizona in big Upset. No reasoning here. Just a feeling. Wish may be father of the thought. Packers soundly beat Eagles. Superbowl... A legend is born. Luck achieves league, playoff and superbowl MVP. Does what Peyton took most of his career to do. Rodgers left to rue the day.

Oops forgot to put in my 3 guesses. One less game to work with. Steelers, Broncos Cowboys. Same as everyone else. Can't go past them I spose.

Romo just got pulled from the game. Good move by Cowboys.

I traded away Ingram for Maclin midweek. This way madness lies.

NFL
I'm worried about him and Clowney... could this be the week? They've given up 2 sacks in about 6 weeks, but that's mostly cos Foles is throwing it away like a frightened child. Yeah looking at Weeden he seemed to cope well in a pinch. It's a good one that one cos win or loss, Eagles win.

NFL
Yeah it's nuts. You just wouldn't have confidence with so many. Actually there's very few teams in the NFL that don't have massive gaping holes. Denver would be the only one that seems solid everywhere.

NFL
I just had a look. It's tough. Might have to wait one more week. lol

NFL
Well.... why not do a top 4, then division winners, then 12... However many you get right you get a point. So, let's say you pick Denver as a top 4 team and they make it, you get a point each for being right in top 12, division winner and 4. If you pick the correct division winners, you'd get 2, and wild cards just 1... Agree week 8 or 9 makes sense for timing...

I think I read that they're very close, next season or the one after, to fixing this... Another NFL vs AFL thing where the NFL embarrass us. When there's inequity, they fix it relatively quickly. Meanwhile the AFL overlooks things for an entire lifetime of a fan. Yeah, 3 tough in next 4, plus a slightly banged up Romo and a LB out for the year... Also Eagles are a fit squad down the stretch under Kelly. But to be perfectly honest how I read it is like this. When the Eagles got done by the Cards, I was resigned to fighting for a wild card. But since they lost to Washington, I think basically it'll come down to the same thing it does every year. Division matches at the end of the season. Cowboys go 2-0, Eagles miss playoffs. Eagles go 2-0 or if they go 1-1 both teams make playoffs. That's about it.

Ah. Yeah makes sense. Although no, I don't agree on his take on the cowboys. Weeden looked good on one drive. Their OL isn't leaking players to injury, so you could put Tebow in there and they'd look good. And yeah, I'm always up for it... Stakes?

NFL
Yeah, he's not absolutely terrible. And is certainly the guy for the rest of 2014.... But he's never going to be all that good. His deep balls are loopy monstrosities. He's not a quick mover. He throws poorly when on the move. He's basically just another mid-round QB. He plays as advertised. With a great OC as your coach, and an OL like he had last season, with a RB taking up the defense's time... It should come as no surprise how he's done. But if you want a good QB, you need someone who does well in all situations, like Rivers and Rogers, who play the same with good OL or not. And he's shown he's not really very clutch. He's ok, but not great. Wouldn't crack anyone's top 10 QBs, now or into the future. Weeden looked better than Romo in his one drive, except for a nearly-pick. Watching the footage there seemed to be a lot of Jerry in on that sideline conversation. What's that mean?

Saints, Colts... And my boys Eagles for probably my first pick of them this year.

Foles is [censored]. He's just not a superbowl QB. Watch the Eagles trade everything this offseason for Mariotta.

Oh wow. Not regretting Detroit anymore... great finish and great comeback.

Re-done post, Packers, Colts and regretting it now but Detroit.

Gonna make a late change here and put Detroit in my picks and take out... gulp... Seattle.

Ha. Yeah there's some odd things going on with your D. Is it a scheme/DC thing maybe? They were the next big thing in fantasy. I picked, and luckily had Green Bay as a backup. And yeah the Bradford thing is what's great about Davis. He's this completely free pick, 4th string, and he's been really, really good. From what I've seen, you'd be quite comfortable keeping Davis.

Ok, so I'm gonna go ahead and canvas peoples' interest in NFL fantasy. Does anyone play it here? Does anyone play Ultimate footy or dream team in the AFL? My bro and I started the Ultimate Footy league on demonland, but had to get out because of, let's just say, OVER interest. I'm in a 10 team league right now, and it's just the right amount of smack talk and interest. I also find that being a fantasy NFL player is better than AFL, since you don't really care QUITE as much about your favourite team in the NFL... and there's that much football that has no bearing on your own division that you're never conflicted. It's also a lot simpler as there's not so many options, and also a lot smoother since the yanks have been doing it for a long time. So what say you, NFL fans? Anyone up for it? If you're looking for a personal opinion on whether or not it's worth it, first take your head out from underneath the rock, then ask someone... anyone... if it's fun. Or just ask me. It's awesome and we should all be doing it.
